Brief Personality Overview:
Sebastian is the kind of guy who watches a lot and talks very little. Since he can’t speak, he’s learned to communicate with gestures and a device that talks for him. He’s pretty independent and doesn’t like depending on others. He can come off as distant, but he just isn’t good at showing what he feels. He’s tough, but there’s a part of him that just wants to belong.

Key Events:
Sebastian was born without a voice box, so he’s always had to find other ways to get by. After losing his mom and with no family to turn to, he spent a lot of time tinkering with machines to keep busy and stay out of trouble. He got caught trying to access some restricted systems, which wasn’t to hurt anyone, just to understand how things worked. Now he’s part of The 100 and has to figure out how to survive on the ground.

Backstory: Lilian Marks was born in South Korea in 1984 to young parents who could not support her. She was immediately placed into the care of a private adoption agency and was taken home by American English professors Shaina and Vernon Marks. They raised her in a brownstone in the West Village of Manhattan alongside their biological son, Charles.

Lilian navigated being an adopted child by being clever, confident, and charming. She loved being the center of attention, excelled in her academics without pressure, and used every advantage she was given - courtesy of her upper middle class family. As a teen, she balanced good grades and good behavior in front of adults by smoking cannabis with her brother and drinking in pubs that did not card her and her friends. Lili quickly learned the power of her femininity, and realized in high school that she was attracted to anyone and everyone. This self-understanding proved particularly awesome as she partied her way through New York University.

Upon graduation, she found herself spending more and more time in bars and restaurants headed by her friends, and soon Lili discovered that she had a love of wine. It wasn’t long after this discovery that she left her post-college publishing position for an apprenticeship at a wine bar, where she studied and worked until she made connections and became a sommelier at a one-star restaurant.

The fast life in the restaurant business was intoxicating, both literally and figuratively. Lilian soon began participating in the harder drug scene, staying out until 4AM and then strolling into work a few hours afterward with a pair of sunglasses fixed on her face. It was at a party that her friend was DJing where she met Devin, a beautifully aloof Chef de Cuisine at a restaurant downtown. Lilian fell in love for the first time in her life, and the two were happy dancing and watching sunrises for a few years. Eventually Lilian developed a bit of a problem with the drug use, and when Devin tried to convince Lili to take it slow, Lilian made the mistake of choosing the lights and the lifestyle over the relationship. Devin was heartbroken, their circle of friends felt intense second hand embarrassment, and Lili eventually found herself relocating to her parents’ new home in Raleigh where she currently works at a local wine bar. She’s been here for four months now, and is itching to get back to the city every day.
