I'm a generally chill gomboblin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. Lots of Nintendo. Dark Cloud is pretty sick. That's a lot of variety, and I do like to play a lot of different games. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.
Magic in space is something that I find isn't done very much. Airships and spaceships could make for some cool centerpieces. Skies of Arcadia did a fantastic job of this. Perhaps that's not in space, exactly, but it's pretty close. Some of those ships may as well be space ships.

"Honestly, do you just not listen? To anyone? Ever?" The white-haired minstrel sighed softly as the boy spoke. This kid was all over the place. As Phones leaned in to scream in her ear, Trinity reflexively punched him again, this time in the gut. He may have been quick, but she was quick, too. "You? Is that the most annoying sound? 'cause you're pretty damn annoying, kid. By the way?" She paused briefly for effect. "Keep out of my personal space."
She looks over her shoulder at Penny, calmly. "Well, since I'm going to be taking the time to teach this kid about life, I guess I might as well join your guild, huh? You said I had a lacrima...?" She'd felt something in her pocket before, that she hadn't put there. "This must be it, then." She pulls it out and examines it for a moment. "Uuuh... hm." She requips a small device into her hand, with what looks like some sort of seat for a stone. It was a mount for her instruments, to use lacrima with hand positions saved on it, used to teach songs. You just follow the movements it shows you.
Of course, it wasn't good just for instructional lacrima. She activates the stone to see what else was going on. "Ooh, looks like everyone's fighting. Looks like soldiers are showing up, too."
I dunno how fast Phones is supposed to be (or... how fast he thinks he is? Is that what you're doing? That's good character flaw, if that's what you're doing. He just thinks he's super fast?), but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have Blink magic or anythin'. Heeee's gonna get punched in the gut. x:

Trinity hadn't really been approaching the boy. She'd actually planned on being interrupted, though not by Penny. "Oh, oye, oye, I wasn't actually gonna hurt him... bad." She... kinda wanted to punch him again, honestly. "But, more importantly than that, where has our gracious host- ah! Such poor stamina for entertaining guests, poor thing... And here I thought I might have to do something." She took Penny's arms from her waist gently, smiling. "There there. I more meant... gradually. I don't think hitting him harder would do any good right now. Though, speaking of hitting hard..."
The white-haired woman looks over her shoulder, in the direction Spencer went. "Ehh... wasn't that... a little easy? This is supposed to be your Magic Council, yes? Am I missing something, here? You two were impressive, don't get me wrong, but..."
Oof, Spencer anti-climax.
Are those of use outside not also being plagued by Rune Knights at about this time? Penny?
When the Council Member had begun to charge Phones, Trinity requipped her magic quiver. Some approaching Rune Knights saw this and began to approach *her*. "Aah, saw that, did you? I'm not lookin' for trouble, now..." She could tell they didn't believe her. But then she heard something...
"*I don't deserve this gift of life right now.*"
Arara? Her harp stopped and she rose from her seat. "At least, not any trouble with you boys. Excuse me." She sighed softly to herself as she began to move toward Phones. Didn't he know that was the kind of line he was supposed to stop on? Well, no matter. She'd just have to cut back to it somehow. Before she could reach him, the fool had begun an assault on the Council Member, and she ran into action. She saw his move and began to get into position to anticipate it. "Don't deserve your LIFE!?" She arrived just in time and leaped in. "Clench your teeth, BOY!"
The idea was to rock him across the face. Punch the sense into him, y'know. "Is that all your life is worth, then? What of your parents? Even if they're missing or gone, that doesn't give you the right to throw away what they've done for you! So I've decided something. I'm gonna beat some sense into you, boy. Until you learn to value the things you've been given." She cracked her neck and knuckles, though kept a portion of her attention on Spencer. More like she was waiting for him to interrupt, actually.
Oh man, Phones. You better CLENCH YOUR TEETH!
