I'm a generally chill gomboblin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. Lots of Nintendo. Dark Cloud is pretty sick. That's a lot of variety, and I do like to play a lot of different games. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.
Magic in space is something that I find isn't done very much. Airships and spaceships could make for some cool centerpieces. Skies of Arcadia did a fantastic job of this. Perhaps that's not in space, exactly, but it's pretty close. Some of those ships may as well be space ships.

I'm not worried it may be too much. That's not my concern here. You're bringing science into magic. Now, could you maybe eat ice and gain ice power that way? Sure, fine. Natsu eats all sorts of weird things. The dummy. But Water Dragon magic is Water Dragon magic. I'm sure there's an Ice Dragon out there, somewhere.

But Slayer magic and Bending are completely different. You don't control it so much as you wield it. If you want to make a Water Bender, then make a water bender, not a Slayer.
Avatar doesn't use magic, it uses ancient martial arts, and users gain gain control over nearby resources. They bend the substance to their will.
Dragon Slayer Magic is completely different, and has a rather... established sense of what it does.
I dunno if Water Dragon techniques should overlap with ice, myself. That brings science into things, and Fairy Tail doesn't apply science to magic.
