@JbcoolHe's not nearly as heretical as he used to be (aka prior to the 225th) thanks to some... vigilant missionaries who showed him the true light of the glory of the Emperor. Now a days he's not as much of an actual heretic as he is just not quite as zealous about it, if it makes sense.

An interesting Batman fan-theory I found, can't say its completely illogical.
On a completely different note, I'm thinking of adding a bit to Aleph's "backstory" and have him actually carry around the dog tags/ID tags of the other people who originally were in the 225th. Maybe even have him weave them into the robe/cloak thingy which is "armor" since he does have hundreds of them.
Also got me thinking about an actual backstory which he was arrested for heresy (and probably Khornate Chaos corruption) and thus sent to a penal world and then the 225th. He made a whole bunch of buddies in the 225th but eventually lost all of them but had tracked down each and everyone one of their bodies and their killers (to the best of his abilities) to collect their tags and "right the sins". Now although he doesn't believe in the Emperor himself, he is devoted to it since he wishes for the Emperor to protect and grant his buddies, part of the reason he's in the Inquesition despite not having much faith personally. Its also due to the fact he hates Guardsmen after the company the 225th was attached too started shooting at the 225th for no reason in the middle of a battle.
Just in case the universe wasn't as grimdark as it was already, here I am trying to add some FEELs to it.
