@ClocktowerEchos Given the setting, how would you feel about my Air Cavalry being mostly a drone force? Automated recon drones in place of the recon helicopters, small robotic hunter-killers in place of the cavalry/motorcycles and larger hunter-killers in place of the medium tanks?

Basically, could I play as SkyNet?

Air Cavalry is still just helicopter infantry, that's not going to change. Hunter-Killers are one use weapons if I remember and are basically robotic suicide bombers which would require the Do or Die doctrine to allow it.

Play what you want would be my advice. If there are a lot of support divisions then the PC team will certainly have an advantage in playing long, grindy battles.

Biography:

Deep beneath the catacombs of Harand Kor lays the endless tunnels of prison cells and vaults where the only light is that from the accursed guards of the prison. A former mining town, the deep tunnels and endless passages carved from stone on the back of slaves made an excellent prison for the King's enemies when the minerals dried up. With every lash and every brand, the prisoners are tormented as their wills sap away. With every pained scream and desperate plead, the cries of the damned echo throughout the valley with infamy and horror. And at the very top of this pyramid of torture and cruelty is the Grave Warden.

For generations, Heccarim's family has served as the overseer of Harand Kor and the King's Jailer. When criminals and traitors run, they away not from the enforcers of the law, but from the possibility of ending up in the catacomb prisons where even the most defiant of Drakken warlords have had their will shattered and minds broken, turned into pathetic, jibbering, tortured creatures.

Wearing the Mask of the Warden, Heccarim's reputation has been built up by his forefathers and their forefathers as the very sight of it strikes terror and fear into most Drakken. Mothers often tell their children to behave less the Warden drags them away in chains. Travelers warn each other not to travel alone on old, abandoned paths less they are the next victim of the Warden. Many dozens of stories circulate about the legend of the Warden, some of them are even true. But for Heccarim, they are just another tool in his arsenal of terror. Its not far fetched to say that the position of Grave Warden of Harand Kor has become its own entitiy, detached from the role of prison keeper; the fact he is rarely seen only adding to his grim mystic.

Heccarim himself only chuckles to the myths and legends of how the Warden takes delight in agony and suffering, how its actually a sadistic ghost whose only goal is to torment people to madness and suicide so it can claim their souls or how it can steal your life force through its chain, using it as fuel for its lantern censer. The Drakken himself possesses a dark humor but little in the way of true cruelty, only a cruel apathy to those beneath him and those he oversees. To him, its his life's duty to be the Grave Warden as was his forefathers'. Like the rest of his bloodline, he has served the king most faithfully, dragging more than one uppity Drakken with ambitions beyond their post into the shadowy grave cells of Harand Kor. Now, he seeks a Gem bride to ensure that the prison will always have a warden and the king; a jailer.

Other:

A constant fog surrounds Heccarim, mostly around his feet. This smokey fog comes from his censer-lantern that he has learned how to light with his chain hook in a most menacing swing and is based on his own magical abilities. Like his predecessors, he has never taken off his mask and his lantern has never gone unlit.

My question is whether or not a Mechanized Infantry Squad would be a separate "purchase" from the IFV that makes them Mechanizex in the first place.

Transports/IFVs take up different slots than their infantry components.

Also, would an Air Cavalry division be able to airlift its medium tanks and howitzers into position, or would they have to travel over land to rendezvouz with their compatriots? Or would this be covered by the serperate Airborne Logistics doctrine?

Would the support units also be helicopter mounted, or would they also need the Air Cavalry to take the Airborne Logistics doctrine as well?

Honestly I would say anything beyond light vehicles/artillery is somewhat unlikely. If you're trying to lift like a pack howitzer, that's fine. But even a modern Chinook wouldn't be able to carry a WW2 Sherman.

Helicopter Mounted Infantry would go under the Aerial section actually but they do come with the helicopter and infantry in one slot. To clarify, they'd basically be on the same level as regular line infantry; Paratroopers are more or less equal to Shock Troopers.

Airborne Logistics is more meant to be able to supply troops stuck in hard to reach places or places that are dangerous by land. Transport Aircraft ranges from Chinooks to proper airplanes but like I said before, you aren't going to be able to carry vehicles much larger than something like a Jeep or light vehicle via a helicopter.

GM ANNOUNCEMENT

After debating about it with my collection of plushies, I've decided to allow for non-human models. However, they still must be humanoid and still are physically capable as humans so no race of giant ogres that are 20x stronger than a man or a bunch of lizard people with scales that can block rockets. Basically don't go crazy with the non human things, its mostly for looks as is with most of the MockZ stuff; just reskins more or less.

History

The 33rd Royal Sky Fleet Divion (sometimes known as the RSK Ground Forces) has a sordid history with a once glorious past. Once it was two separate regiments controlled by two brothers, George and Henry Ironwoods, who lead the 19th Household Armored and the 14th Royal Airborne respectively. Despite coming from respected MockZ lineages with parents whose names are venerated around civilian MockZ circles, the brothers suffered an absolutely crushing defeat which left both of their forces nearly decimated. Such was the morale shock that George gave up on the sport, retiring his army and giving it to Henry.

After attempting to reform the shattered remains of the two armies into an Infantry Division, Henry was once again dealt a brutal defeat with the shadow of failure still following him. Now on his last legs, his 33rd Royal Sky Fleet Ground Forces follow him into battle with solemn faces and grim determination to try and recover what little glory they possibly could by entering into the local compositions.

Description:

The last remnants of the once prestigious infantry of the 19th Royal Armored and the 14th Royal Sky Fleet. In a previous age they could have been listed under shock or even paratroopers had they had the time to properly train but they've been hastily pressed into service. Some were just reservist airmen more comfortable in the air than on the ground but now with spare rifles and battered metal breastplates they solemnly march into another battlefield with grim determination.

Description:

Hastily recruited and barely trained recruits that are a far cry from the elite airborne shock infantry. Little more than reservists, Squire Troops are the levied soldiers given ancient weaponry and are expected just to be able to fill the trenches, man the guns and provide bodies for the division. Green recruits fresh out of the most reduced basic training, they are the embodiment of how far the 33rd Royal Sky Fleet has fallen.

@Belle If anything Heccarim isn't as straight up abusive or what not as other Drakken. He'd be more apathetic than anything and more pragmatic. A bride is someone to get him a successor warden and then a reward for service. Although that said he's aiming for a strong willed Gem since other wise they won't be able to handle the sheer amount of horror movie bullshit that the prison he runs has.
