After a few moments looking at the crowd, Mortem realized that it was just a bunch of idiots unsatisfied with each other.
Immatures... Thought the six hundred years old skeleton.
He shook his head in disappointment. But Cerberus wasn't that surprised.
"You see there, that's how youngsters are. A bunch of immatures wanting to push his anger onto someone else. You'll no doubt encounter one of these in the future."
Really? He thought. That would be bad.
Mortem shook the thought for the moment to continue his study.
XXX
Another hour had passed, and Mortem had already finished the book. It was so interesting that Mortem had wished that it was a little bit longer. Now that he had finished one, normally, he would have to continue a little bit longer, due to Cerberus's nagging that he should be learning instead of doing something else. But today is his first day, and the school year hadn't started yet, so there was no reason to push himself so hard.
He glanced to Mesuka, who was still in her own world right now. He probably shouldn't bother her now. But he should notify her his whereabouts, so that she could easily find him. She had promised him a spar after all.
'I'll be at the campus ground if you want to find me.'
He slipped the paper near her, as he stood up and left, returning the book to Yg'ntha during the process.
Arriving at the campus ground, he saw a tall, coffee-skinned man who was running casually around the ground, happily.
The conversation between the bandaged man and that owl was rather...interesting, although he found the story extremely hard to believe. But he simply couldn't join in the talk. It would be rude.
Then, eventually, the owl left the library, then the bandaged guy. Ash went deep into the library to study, and got scolded for using cigarettes, leaving only him alone with the Haka-born. It appeared that she was also engulfed in her own study as well. Then there should be no reason for the old dusty skeleton to be idled, right? He was here to study at all, and he was being an outcast now.
He sat down somewhere, anywhere, as there were now no more needs to pick a silent spot. There were only him and his two roommates. For the next hour, he was finally engulfed in the book that the Yg'ntha just gave him. A true piece of art. If he could speak freely, then he would exclaim that. The author's scope of knowledge was breathtaking, as she handled all the era's astrophysics, from ancient Greece to the modern day. Honestly, Yg'ntha is a genius!
His hyper-concentration onto the book was pretty impressive, as he had never gotten so interested in it that much before. It was only until a large commotion among the crowd in the courtyard that knocked Mortem out of it. One student was sent away flying. Or rather, thrown away.
What the-
"What the hell is going on?" Cerberus finished his train of thought as he climbed onto the chair next to him to look out of the window, to the commotions.
Full name: Alexander Schinios Elements: Light Age: 19 Appearance:
I do not own this
Traits:
Some of Alexander's strongest personality traits originated from his private tutor, Euphelia. She is the one who inspired Alexander to become a man who thirst for knowledge and a person with desire for greatness. He claims that he is the only person suited to become the leader of the Aedis, and believes that he will lead the Aedis, a force of good, to banish all evils from his land. Whether or not he is a person destined to become great, Alexander certainly has the confidence of one. He had an absolute vision of his own future, and was driven by a great amount of will and determination. This, however, sometimes causes him to be disillusioned and off the world, to lose touch with reality, and a little bit vain, all of which can have serious effects on him later on
Speaking of destiny, Alexander is a traditionalist and a spiritual person. He fundamentally believes that everything in this world is predestined, that his fate to become Aedis's leader is all but a matter of time, and that he must be utterly prepared for it. He has a calm and logical side, undoubtedly thanks to Euphelia's tutelage. But although he is opened to reasoned debate, Alexander is a hard nut to crack, a stubborn man. When angered, he will also abandon his composed attitude and becomes violent, rash and impulsive. To those who lacks the vision of their future, Alexander can also be very condescending and arrogant, considering them not worthy of being his acquaintance. But despite all the downsides to him, if you have earned his trust, he can be a very loyal companion and a protective partner
His confidence and fierceness are clearly demonstrated when he fights. Alexander is a capable horse fighter, and his partner, Stella, a female white heavy horse, is his main powerhouse for force, as Alexander usually uses her to gain speed, knock down enemies, leaving them vulnerable to the trampling of his horse or the mercy of his blade. His appearance on the battlefield with his companion can also stir the combat morale of other Aedis. But because of this recklessness and his tendency to be the first one to charge into battle, he is almost certain to become the main target of the enemy. Despite being a light Aedis, his skill tree is extremely one-sided. While he can use the light's aggressive laser and the defensive force-field abilities decently, and the light manipulation mediocrely, his support skills like invisibility, teleportation and mimicry are seriously under-developed, something that he is working to rebalance. And while a good horseback fighter, he isn't powerful on foot, as the physical power and the high ground advantage of his attack is mostly relied on Stella.
Background:
Born and educated solely by his mother, Alexander was a light Aedis by nature, but it was not until he was thirteen did he realize the innate power that he possessed. Before that, because Alexander's family was relatively poor, so he spent most of his childhood homeschooled by his mother, who despite being immensely busy with her work still spent times to teach Alexander about everything that he needed to know, from science like mathematics, physics to basic philosophy like culture and history. But it was when he was thirteen that his life made a drastic turn, when he was on a normal cave expedition, where he suddenly glowed with great intensity inside the dark cave. He was taken into the academy shortly after, and was given a private tutor, Euphelia, who inspired Alexander to become who he is today.
During his time at the academy, Alexander still attended classes like normal students, but he mostly spent his time inside the teacher's room, where Euphelia had allowed Alexander to enter for her own tutelages. For the next four years Euphelia furthered Alexander's knowledge about his powers, the code of conducts and the mandate that the Creator had bestowed on him upon his birth. But perhaps the most important thing that Alexander had studied from Euphelia was inspiration and will to realize the huge ambition he had within him ever since he was a young child. By constantly reminding him of the grand fate and destiny of an Aedis, Euphalia was able to etch it deep into Alexander's mind, combining with his quick learning traits, his natural born powers, and you have a recipe for a great warrior. In exchange, Alexander enjoyed the time he spent with Euphelia, and to this day, he still respected her as one of the best teacher he had ever studied under.
At one point, around a year after Alexander entered the academy, he found a lost lone white horse inside a forest during one of his excursion there. Afraid that the creature might be killed by a predator, Alexander tried to pull her back to the academy, but she initially refused. After a while examining, Alexander noticed that the creature had heliophobia, a phobia in which is the fear of sunlight. Despite being very unexperienced with his magic at the time, Alexander managed to use his light manipulation ability to shine on the horse, trying to mimic the sunlight. She freaked out at first, but as Alexander kept on calming the creature, reassuring her that all was ok, the horse eventually got over her fear. After the incident, Alexander kept the horse and named her Stella, after the night sky, the only time when the animal could feel at ease. The academy initially did not allow pets, but then made an exception, on one condition that she must be kept in one of the corners of the school ground. Stella later became Alexander's companion on the battlefield

A little backstory for the two if anybody want to read
Sometimes, a faithful day doesn’t have to be all big and shiny with all the commotions and tumults of the world that the gods bring down upon us. To this day, we still did not know whether this was a mere coincidence or a fated event that the higher beings had all planned long before when both the two of them were only a bunch of sands on a salty beach, but the encounter was a beginning of everything. It started peacefully, during a monthly normal class excursion to the Noasis river for the Aedis to practically test out their blessed powers.
“Hey Alexander. Is that a horse over there?”
One of Alexander’s friend, Thomas, asked, his finger pointed in the direction heading to the forest. Alexander looked with him.
He was right. It was a horse. A white horse
“Yeah, that’s right…But why is it alone like that?” Another Aedis, a female water Aedis, confirmed Thomas’s vision.
“He might be wild…But he has a rein on him. So he must have had an owner” Alexander said. “But the area seems to be quite remote. Not many people would live here.”
“Hey! The class is leaving you behind. Let’s go!” His train of thought was interrupted by a student from afar. All those who were looking at the horse, Thomas included, walked away without any objections, except for Alexander. The reason couldn’t be simpler: he can’t. Whether it was because he was charmed by the horse’s beauty or he was worried for the horse’s sake, he did not know. The thing he knew was that he was walking straight to her, into the forest, slowly.
“Hey. You’re a female.” Alexander examined her several times as he reached her, and then hold the rein. “Come on, let’s get out of here. It’s dangerous.”
He pulled the rein gently, with a soft voice, and began walking back to the path that he was taking. The horse followed him peacefully, through the thick trees of the forest, and out. But then…
“NEEEIIGGHH!!!”
It lashed out on him.
The horse jerked violently, lasing the leash that Alexander was holding, sending him tumbling to the ground.
“Oww…that hurts. You look like a stubborn one, don’t you?”
He sarcastically commented, as the horse’s movement was rather awkward, jerking back and forth.
“Alexander!”
It was about time his class had noticed that someone was missing. Around a dozen Aedises, his tutor Euphelia included, rushed towards Alexander, who was trying to stand up from the dirt. Some even had their weapons ready, but was soon stopped by the fourteen years old light Aedis.
“I’m fine, I’m fine. She’s just a little wild, that’s all.”
Said Alexander, as he cleaed himself while still gazing at the still spooked horse. Some were actually relieved that his classmate was ok, but others weren’t so pleased.
“You’re wasting our time. Just leave him!”
“It’s just a horse.”
“We don’t have much time.”
Complaints and whines like that, telling him to abandon the horse kept on escalating, which greatly irritated the young man. He had no patience for such selfish people. But thankfully, a rare sympathetic and wise voice among the dissatisfied crowd had dismissed them before any possible conflict could occur.
“Everyone. Let us not forget the rules of an Aedis. Help those who cannot help themselves.”
It was Euphelia, Alexander’s private tutor, the young woman he had grown to respect.
“Consider this as your first exercise for today’s excursion: tame the creature. There will be a day when you must do this in your real life course, so a little practice wouldn’t hurt, right?”
For a moment, although there were still grumbles muttered under the breathe of some, the innocent and gentle voice of the young tutor had dispersed most of their anger. Now that she had said that, there was no reason to say no.
But after an hour going into it, there were now a ton of reasons to leave the animal. The seemingly simple exercise that Euphelia gave the students proved to be a lot more difficult than they had expected. The horse was so strong, despite being female, that it took at least one Earth Aedis or two people to restrain it. And even if she was restrained it would not allow anyone to climb onto her back. The moment one of the the restraining Aedis let loose of his or her grip on her, she would lash out, shaking around, standing on her two heels and running around, anything to throw the unwanted rider off her back. Again and again, those who tried to climb onto her yielded the same fate: being violently flung away.
“Fuck this shit, I’m done!” Even Thomas, who was reowned for being a determined guy when it comes to challenge, had to give up.
“Come on…” Euphelia gazed at her exhausted Aedis. “None of you can tame it?”
“She’s impossible to be tamed, teacher. We’ve tried to become as gentle as possible and yet she still stomped us like stomping leaves. If you don’t believe it, see it for yourself.”
The class's tutor, after seeing the nods of approval by most of his students, decided to see the horse for herself. She truly indeed was a tough nut to crack. Her stubborn attitude, strong physical strength and unusually weird mental condition had indeed made her quite difficult to tame.
Euphelia headed to pull the rein on the horse, testing the animal, but it suddenly and fiercely retaliated. Although her intention wasn’t to hurt the woman, but her response showed pretty clear to everyone that she was not willing to cooperate.
After the reaction, Euphelia too had doubts about her previous decisions to let the students exercise with a mad horse. She thought that by giving them a real life exercise on a wild horse, then they might get better when someone needs their help. That was a good thing actually, it’s just that she did not expect the horse to be this wild.
“Well, I guess so…” She finally admitted. That the horse couldn’t be ridden.
But it was not until the students were beginning to leave that something actually triggered in Alexander’s mind.
“No…”
“Huh?”
“It can be ridden. I think I can tame it. No…I definitely can tame it”
He said, decisively, as it was set in stone.
The Aedis’s face were a combination of surprise and irritation.
Said the one who had just been knocked down by it an hour ago.
This again…Just when would he let this go? Were the thoughts of a few among the student body.
But before they could say anything, Alexander had already by the white horse's side, this time even more casually than before.
“You don’t like the sun, do you?” He began speaking to the horse, as soft and gentle as a pillow. The horse did not respond, as obvious that she did not understand human language. But for the light Aedis, he knew that she did. In some way.
By constant watching, Alexander found out that the horse was not wild at all. She was just shying away from the brightness of the sun that shone down on her. She might have flung the owner somewhere and ran to this shady forest to calm herself down, that’s all. Then if he could just cure her fear…
“Look…” Alexander then showed his palm to the horse. His eyebrows furrowed slightly, trying his best to use the crystal that he was bestowed upon. He was still yet to familiarize himself with it, but eventually, his palm began to glow and shine. Although the light he emitted wasn’t like the light of a fire Aedis, it was still plausible.
“Neeeiggh!”
The animal freaked out, trying to cower away, turning away from the glowing palm. But Alexander was surprisingly patient with her, touching and petting her with calmness.
“Don’t worry. It’s nothing to be afraid of.” He touched her forehead, trying to release all the fear that she had bore for so long. Bring all the evils and pain she experienced, and banish it with the holy light that the gods had granted us humans so that we could live, expand and shine in glory.
He waited for the animal to calm down, before glowing his palm again. As he had expected, the animal jerked in retaliation again, trying to look away again. But Alexander did not relent, nor was being forceful. He knew that you cannot be impatient with curing a phobia, anger would not do, ignorant would only bring disastrous results. Only patience.
He repeated the process again and again, to the looks of all his friends and his tutor, who were all confused why he was so gentle and patient whereas inside class, he wasn’t really so. The animal’s response was still forceful, but overtime, she eventually got somewhat used to it.
It was then that Alexander knew it was time to take the next step. He walked to the side of the horse while petting the mane of her, trying to let her know that he meant no harm. It was difficult, since you don’t know when he was going to snap. With a single decisive step, he jumped up, wrapping his right leg around her back, his two arms grabbing her nape for stability, and then finally he sat on her, the thing that many Aedis here failed to accomplish.
The creature was surprised, and twitched again, almost sending Alexander off balance. A small gasp went through the spectators, as at that moment they thought he was gonna get jerked off the horse like many others were.
“Stella…” He whispered, with a touch of a feather to her. “That will be your name from now on. You’re beautiful like the moon, like countless stars in the sky.”
Alexander and Stella
The warrior of sunlight, and the mighty steed of the stars.
“You like it, don’t you?”
His palm glowed again, but the horse wasn’t afraid this time.
A beautiful combination.
With a commanding voice and a slight touch of the foot, Alexander had completely accomplished one of the first impossibles.
“Come Stella. Ride! To the Earth’s end!”
And the creature obeyed.
She began to trot, and then turned to a magnificent run, out of the forest, into the nearby plain, under the bright sunlight.
She now had nothing to fear anymore, as she had gotten all the courage she needed in a form of a five foot four young boy, the only person that treated her with all his kindness, regardless of who she was.
The spectators all held their breathe and looked with agony of surprise, as they saw the small yet courageous Alexander riding forth and back triumphantly, having tamed a difficult yet beautiful white horse that they had deemed completely impossible for them to tame.
Euphelia could not stand not smiling for joy from the scene. Her boy had done it. Right when she thought that nobody could ever accomplish. Things that anybody could be proud of. Is he really blessed with the destiny of becoming the greatest of the greats? She did not know, but in him right now, she could see that light, that true holy light.
Alexander, after finishing what was probably one of the most wonderful ride of his life, petted the horse mane again. He knew for sure that this would not be his last. There was still places to go, people to see, and missions to accomplish. And now that he had earned himself a trustful companion, he had no reasons to be hesistant or frightened of them anymore.
He had Stella, and Stella had him.
Alexander and Stella
And so it was accomplished. Two great warriors of the holy light.

The light crystal is located on the gorget of his armor.
The landings on the RX3248 was smooth and soft, to the point that Nelson did not even feel it. He paced down the hallway leading to the loading ramp, his blaster pistol holstered on his right hip. There, the navy personals and marines were already up to their task, unloading the cargo and maintaining crowd control. And they were doing it very well. Nelson could feel that his role as second in command meant almost nothing here.
Nelson casually paced across the working military personals, only motioning his hand to at ease those who saluted him after they noticed him, down to the treacherous dirt of the small moon. The crowds who were swarming the ships suddenly drew all their attentions to the young Lieutenant. Most were curious and slightly cautious due to the various military epaulettes and medals decorated on Nelson’s uniform, which pretty much satisfied Nelson’s needs for attention. A few actually recognized him, as he had appeared in the public a few times in his military life, namely after the battle of Rantost and the battle of Archamila, where he both showed a significant role in the fight against the Nomad.
Nelson moved to the building ahead of him, what seemed to be the planet’s infirmary, and, by instinct, immediately covered his nose, as the smell of blood, sweat mixed with alcohol and contaminated sterility charged up into his lungs. There were woundeds everywhere, on beds, on chairs and even on the floors. There seemed to be at least two dozens of them, in a small-sized building. The nurses and doctors were struggling to handle with them.
Such a horrible sight. Even for the seasoned and battle-experienced Lieutenant like Nelson
“Excuse me, ma’am.” Nelson called for the nearest nurse. “Do you mind reporting the current situation here? How many woundeds, how many deads?”
“Uuhhh…” She was a bit flustered as she was suddenly called during work, again, by yet another strange man. But as soon as she saw the medals, she somewhat knew that he was someone high rankings.
“There are currently over thirty woundeds, but they are all dying. We have lost over ten personals already.”
“Civilians?”
“No, mostly naval cadets and marines, sir. We are out of supplies and are awaiting refill. The marines will be carrying them over soon. But we don’t have enough place to tend all of these men.”
“Hmm…I see.”
With all these men lying on the floor like this, there was little point in tending them. This wasn’t a very clean place either. It was situated on a poor, dusty planet with not very well maintained infrastructure. These guys needed a better place for treatment. And if they weren’t given the suitable place in times, their wounds would be infected, and they would die like those ten personals.
“In that case…” Nelson pulled out a blank card, and write by simply swiping his finger on it. He spent a few seconds writing something and then concluding by signing his name on it.
“Check if anyone has died. If there are, then move them outside for more spots. If there are still not enough, then you are authorised to use the lower cargo bays of our ship. We are unloading, so there should be a few spots for you to use” Nelson handed the nurse the card that he just wrote on. “Give this to anyone who asks, they will know what to do.”
“Thank you so much!…uhh…” The nurse paused to ask for his name, or his rank.
“Lieutenant Nelson Schor.” He decided to give her both. “Oh, and do not send in civilians. Only military personals.”
The captain would kill him if he let civilians on the ship freely.
“Alright sir. Thank you again.”
Nelson turned away from the nurse and left the infirmary in quick haste. He had got to leave fast or else he would be sent home with a transfuse kit, like last time. He wouldn’t want that to be repeated. Ever.
It appeared that everything was going according as planned, aside from the previous incident. Nelson decided to head to the control tower, so as to grasp the traffic of area around the planet directly.
As Nelson opened the door leading to the control tower, the officers there, some were half-asleep at the moment, all bolted up in salute to the Lieutenant. Nelson raised his hand to put them at ease and began trotting to the one who was apparently in charge of the tower.
“Good day officer. Report on the current situation.”
“Yes sir. The sky above the moon RX3248 is clear today, aside from the disabled Nomad fleet, of course.” He tried to put in humours into it, but then onto the main part of the report.
“Except…”
“Except?” Nelson asked.
“Except for one small spacecraft, which we have recently detected. It has also been trying to contact us, but we have yet to respond.”
“Well then do it.”
The officer immediately complied.
“This is tower RX3248.” He called for the unknown spacecraft. “Report your vessel’s current status.”
Name: Hakuryu Genikos Age: 17 How your char looks:
I do not own this, for reference purpose only
History:
Hakuryu was the first son, along with a younger sister, of a retired military commander in the imperial army, yet a myth was spread that he is the son of the god of war, Odin, due to his natural born supernatural power of soul summoning. Never once known the face of his mother, who died shortly after giving birth to his younger sister, Hakuryu was raised entirely by the kind yet strict father who was widely reowned for his significance in the resistance against the demon lord. During his childhood, Hakuryu was impressed by his father's ambition as a soldier, which was to use his grits and strengths to defeat the demon king. He was obsessed with studying his father's old records and legacies, and vowed to leave an even bigger one. He did not go to primary nor secondary school and was instead tutored at home by an old acquaintance to his father, professor Sarafin, who was a brilliant tutor at Magicana high school, who was reowned for her wide research in many fields, including ethics, medicine, politics, history, mathematic, physics, chemistry, leadership and most importantly curiosity. For the next nine years of his life, he was taught, developing a passion for pursuing knowledge, a decent understandings about the world around him, and a fairly good control over his power
Impressed by his intelligence and learning potential, Sarafin offered him a scholarship in the Magicana high school, where he would continue to further his powers and his understandings of it, while learning to grip on his life purposes, his ambitions that Hakuryu had discovered before. He was granted the chance to study at Magicana free of charge, but his living expenditure wasn't covered. Because of his big ego was to be independent, and the fact that his younger sister was still in needs of care from his father, he accepted the work as a school librarian and a grader to earn some extra money to buy his personal belongings.
Character traits:
His most notable traits, the one that can be seen right from the first contact with him is his hard-working nature. Clinging on his lifelong goal is to do something big for mankind to look at, Hakuryu is very industrious, taking his study and job very seriously, and is prone to get irritated or even angry when people around him do not do the same. He takes his steps cautiously, never making any assumptions, prefering to analyse basing on facts and logics before making decisions. However, this trait can be abandoned when someone drives Hakuryu into a bad mood, as he is likely to be impulsive and have violent mood swing.
Born in a family with high social status, and his vision for greatness somewhat caused him to be condescending towards other students, especially for lazy ones. And that condescending trait can be more severe when he faces those who lack the vision of their own future and those who are being weak-willed, not trying hard enough, or pushing their responsibility to others, to achieve what they want. His manners and behaviors in times like that can be inconsiderate, cold and ruthless. Nevertheless, if you get on his good side, he can be friendly, fair, sympathetic and loyal, as he values the bond he has with the souls of dead soldiers in Valhalla.
He has an ambition, and works himself to achieve it. But sometimes he aims too high and too far, thus resulting in him over-exerting his stamina. This can lead to exhaustion and sometimes stress. He can also be greedy at times, due to his 'aiming-high' nature.
What your character dream is: To continue his father's will and ambition to defeat the demon lord, and create an everlasting legacy for the next generations to remember.
What kind of magic your char has: Warrior's soul summoning
A rare type of magic especially granted to him during childbirth. Specifically, Hakuryu has the ability to access the gate of Valhalla, the realm that contains the soul of deceased warriors who fell in battle, open them and summon these souls at his side at a cost of his own energy. This thus earned him the title of 'the son of Odin', the god who rules the place. The longer the stay of the soul at Valhalla (or simply the longer the time they spent there since they died), the easier it is for him to summon. That is why he mostly summons ancient to late-medieval soldiers, as they do not require much to call from Valhalla. But still he can only call around two hundred men at best, and they are generally not as tough as normal humans. Once they are killed, the souls will dissipate and return back to Valhalla, awaiting for further calls. This allows Hakuryu to summon the same soldier as many times as he wants, but he still needs energy to do so, and it also depends on the soul's willingness to be summoned.
For personal combat, Hakuryu is able to summon a long, Greek-styled, forward curving blade. The weapon acts nothing different from a normal sword, aside from the fact that when it is broken, the weapon can be mended back, at a significant cost of the user's energy, of course. He is decent at fighting on foot, but he is best when he fights on the back of his companion, a black heavy war horse, Seraphim, named after his most respected tutor, Sarafin, which he is also capable of summoning.
