Personality: Hisoka is a stoic man who often keeps to himself, preferring to stay quiet. When he does talk, he is blunt and to the point, never one to waste words. He prefers to have his actions speak louder than his words, at most times.
A cunning realist, Hisoka always looks at things in a pragmatic sense. He sees magecraft solely as a tool to be used, just like the many other weapons in his disposal.
Despite having a rather straightforward way of dealing with things, Hisoka still keeps his own code of honor. He avoids any outright killing, preferring to instead completely disable his enemies. He's also loyal to his employer, no matter what circumstances change, so long as he isn't double-crossed, himself.
He's also best described as a drifter, prone to wandering from place to place and picking up whatever he finds along his travels. If he's bored with something, he tends to abandon it in favor of finding something else to entertain himself with.

Biography: Hisoka was born in Osaka, and was generally raised like most heirs in a magus family. He was given more free reign to pursue what he wished to do, considerin the Matsunagas' liberal stance in regards to the ways of a magus. While he was young, he had a strong belief in self improvement, both mentally and physically. He trained in martial arts as well as magecraft, having a knack for Reinforcement magic. Because of this, as well as having the low quality magic circuits Matsunagas generally have, Hisoka was lead to believe that he has to train more on relying upon himself rather than his magecraft.
Hisoka left his home at the age of 17 after learning what he felt was enough of his family's magecraft. He put himself out as a mercenary for any magic-related activities within the world. Being rather skilled at hand-to-hand combat as well as picking up the use of more mundane tools between his travels resulted in him gaining renown in the Magus world. Most, however, don't consider him a true magus due to how he operates.
Within his travels, Hisoka picked up a few things, such as a better understanding at general magecraft (in order to better counter it). In terms of more martial skills, he learned how to use a multitude of firearms over the years, although preferring to fight his enemies in close combat when possible. Whatever free time he had, he'd have always spent it on learning another martial art, caring more for his physical skills than his magical ones.
When Hisoka's command seal appeared four years ago, he had put himself in a hiatus to prepare for the Grail War, dedicating it mostly to researching other potential Masters. He also used this time to achieve his first black belt in Kyoukushinkai Karate.
Family History: The Matsunaga family is known for its skill in Material Transmutation. The Matsunagas trace their roots to the Edo period, and were known to be excellent weaponsmiths at the time. Magi normally look down upon the Matsunagas because of this. Even today, the Matsunagas tend to work as freelancers, and have yet to establish a permanent place within the Magus Association. This is doubly so do to their lack of quality magic circuits.

Advanced Reinforcement: The signature Magecraft of Hisoka, as well as being one of the main Magecrafts for the Matsunagas, Hisoka is able to push his body to extreme limits using reinforcement, as well as the reinforcement of most weapons and items. Melee weapons are affected more than projectile weapons, such as guns.
Matsunaga Family Seal: Located on the right shoulder, the seal contains the circuits of the Matsunaga bloodline going as far back as the late Edo period. The quality of the circuits, however, are all still low.
Equipment: Mystic Code - Entropic Staff: Made by the Matsunagas in order to deal with their low quality Magic Circuits. A steel quarterstaff that amplifies the magical energy used for any reinforcement spell, so long the staff is being reinforced. Can split into two batons.
