HP 110/110 SP 100/100 MP 100/00

It seemed that these players were rowdier than he had realized. It wasn't something that talking would solve, either. Lew knew he had to take action. At the same time, he felt that if he were to physically harm these other players it would only set his training in the priesthood back. Still, it was clear that he needed to do something to alleviate this situation, especially now that he has made his presence known.

For now, he stepped back for a moment, placing his silver coins back into his coin-purse before figuring out a proper place to hide the entirety of his money within his person. What he was about to do he knew the potential of being mugged was high. Still, any nook or cranny on his person would suffice, although he would be very much against putting his coins inside that. At the very least, he did his best to distribute as much silver coins within the soles of his shoes in order to at least have some emergency funds in case his purse was taken.

Next, Lew opened up the menus, searching for his Pain Settings. He already had it at a pitiful number but, just to be safe, he lowered it down to a nice 1%.

Finally, Lew made his approach once more, interposing himself between the miko and the more enterprising players with his arms and legs spread out.

"I am not a violent man, but I feel like you are wasting everyone else's time with your... off-topic questions. Either resolve them now, or deal with me."

Lew awaited the first hit. His END was pretty high, and his STR was getting there, but he wasn't sure if these newer players had any high statistics to counter that. Should they attack him, Lew will only allow them to beat him until they tire or he's about an inch from his life. It wasn't like he was at a temple that could heal him or anything, anyway. Lew will also keep in mind not to make any overtly offensive attacks either seeing as he still had an impression to make towards the inhabitants of the temple. He will rely on his high stats to avoid or even muscle through any attacks made at him.

Lew was very interested in what he has seen in the Shin-Yu Temple, inspired by those other players hopping around with their barriers. What he was less interested about was that he had to talk to a blue-haired miko of all things. Lew tends to avoid waifus with blue hair just as much as he does waifus with red hair, as he knew choosing a side would only throw him deep into the eternal debate. Plus, Lew was more interested in the rarer, but more refined purple-haired waifus in the end. It was because of these reasons as well as the fact she wasn't even a monster girl that Lew hesitated to help the miko out.

At the same time, he didn't want to waste his friends' times waiting for him to have settled into what he wanted. Lew knew that he needed to spend some time at the temple training and, even then, this time spent training might not even award him XP. While he didn't want to be a hero for multiple reasons, he was less inclined towards waiting his turn. With a face full of resolve, he made his approach towards the priestess.

Lew procured about five silver from his bag of coins, making his way to the offering box to place it. As he did, he made sure that his approach was dramatic enough to catch the miko's attention. Once he reached the box of offerings, however, he paused, one if his silver coins obviously hovering over the opening. It was at this point that he made eye contact with the miko, clearing his throat before speaking in a calm and assertive matter, loud enough to speak over the other newbie players.

"Ah, I'm sorry. Does the temple accept silver, or rishi as donation?"

It was with this question that Lew offered an 'out' to the miko. Whether she would take it or not would be up to her. The worst case scenario is the newer players preventing her from replying in kind. Otherwise, should she attend to his question in kind, Lew would quickly make his second inquiry while he had the chance.

"By the way, I'm interested in training within the temple as a... priest? Where is the best place to begin?"

Lew kept his head low as he collected his silver pieces, avoiding eye contact as he made his way out of the ogre smit's shop. He was disappointed that he locked himself out of one route as he made his way to the Shin-Yu temple, but soon slowly began to cheer himself up once he began to think of other monstrous wives he could conquer with his new upcoming profession. After all, his knowledge of moon runes was enough for him to know that priests of Eastern traditions specialize in capturing monsters. Clearly this is just Lew naturally growing to the setting around him, anyway. One cannot grow as a man or a lover without heartbreak, after all.

Whatever awaited Lew at Shin-Yu temple, he would be open to receiving. It was his intention to devote himself to training in whatever they offered, spending his time learning while his friends spent theirs leveling. Perhaps dedicating some time there will allow him to reach the Kekkaishi class quickly, or perhaps he may learn of another profession that could also impact his party well. After all, it seems they are in need of another supporting fighter rather than a tank or damage dealer, and it seems this temple may teach Lew the ways of the priesthood. In any case, Lew believed it was best to approach this new path with an open mind.
Cu (Origin)#2042

sheet will be up before the end of the week!

Despite being roughly jerked around and promptly blinded, Malphas was quite pleased with the results of his spell. For one, being able to perform any sorts of magical feats is an amazing thing in its own right, but to have that much power? Malphas's tears would be of joy, if they weren't of irritation from his attempt at casting spells. However, rather than being blinded, he was more surprised at Donovan's reaction to his miracle.

At first, Malphas believed that his words were minced. It was only after Malphas was grabbed by Donovan's big, meaty hands that he realized that something else was an issue. This man was likely nothing more than a glorified meathead! Perhaps he didn't know what "obfuscation" meant. Neanderthals didn't know what a lot of things meant, after all. Still, to leave it off as a misunderstanding would likely be Malphas's best bet. Between the rude jerking, the blinding light, and the sudden loud screeching, however, Malphas's own survival instincts kicked into high gear. All he could recall in this moment was what mommy taught him if he was being grabbed by a large man.

A superpowered knee flew into Donovan's groin, launched with the full lethal force of the Goddess's blessings.

Following the possible destruction of Donovan's ability to procreate in this lifetime, Malphas used the momentum of his knee raising to launch the top of his head straight towards the taller man's chin in an attempt to be freed of his grasp. Quickly afterwards, Malphas took a few steps back, his hands up in some sort of exaggerated defensive stance an actual practitioner like Leannah would find sad. Being blinded didn't help either, although Malphas did his best to at least keep an ear out for any immediate danger coming towards him. At the same time, he still needed to save face.

"The only thing that will get us killed is your lack of faith, fool!" Malphas exclaimed, as he paid attention to the sound from the distance... Good, it was heading far off, and not to their location. Taking a deeper breath as he attempted to regain his bearings, Malphas stepped backward a few more times, hoping to make more distance between himself and the others as he continued to salvage whatever companionship may be left. "I suppose I should have explained myself more. I was using my blessing to hide our presence. And as a result, whatever was roaming these halls happened to pass by without paying heed to our little gathering. If anything, my ability would not have worked with that stunt you just pulled..."

As Malphas's vision slowly began to return, he started to dust himself off, still keeping an ear out for any retaliation. The more he thinks about it, however, the more he believes these two are lost causes. Perhaps it would be best to lead the 'Guardian' right to them and run while they're forced to deal with it. It's clear his magical powers are that strong, after all...

Whatever would happen in the future depends solely on their cooperation.

Lew clicked his tongue at the result of his inquiry. A tank class that specialized in controlling the field rather than him fighting on his own seemed more up his ally. While becoming a warrior in this game would be another feat all on its own, Lew could not deny the impact that magic had on both sides of combat during their previous encounter. It was a shame he decided to dump MP. At the very least, he could attempt to make up that deficit now with a few level ups. Speaking of which...

MP 10 -> 100
SP 80 -> 100
STR 9 -> 14
AGI 12 -> 20

Lew decided to finally allocate his points. First off, covering up his MP seemed like a must. For now, he'll leave it at a nice 100, then pour another 10 points into it later before he's about to change classes. Next was his SP, which scaled up his skill attacks up more for the time being. A few boosts to STR would help in that regard as well. Finally, a boost to AGI should help him move faster in such encounters in the future. With a mix of his already absurd END as well as his slowly ascending AGI, he should be somewhat self sufficient for the time being. Self-sufficiency is definitely important since he'll be babysitting Ari... who seemed to have disappeared. Should Lew be concerned?

Nah, they're in town. They'll definitely be safe.

In any case, Lew went on to job-searching, finding many strange requests on the aforementioned quest board. Most of the lucrative job opportunities involved the Mora-Sho, which Lew recalled was one of the factions. If he decided to choose Samurai after all, winning favor with one of the major factions would definitely be a good plan. Plus, many of these quests seem to involve exterminating monsters. Perhaps Lew could learn a thing or two from encountering the different creatures in this game, perhaps even... capture them? With Kekkaishi, that would definitely be more possible. In any case, Lew attempted to see if he could add the jobs revolving around the Mora-Sho to his tracker, either by attempting to tear out his own copy of these quests, bookmarking them, or otherwise noting them down someplace. For now, he had but one thing he wished to do...

Retracing his steps and finding himself back to the smithy where it all started, Lew approached the ogre smith, wherever she may be, holding his two blades by their sheathes and finally crumpling down into a dogeza. It was as if Lew was giving an offering to his goddess, leaving the paired swords neatly in front of himself.

"I'm sorry for returning in such a dishonorable fashion, but... Your blades have serviced me well, and I've done my best to take care of them. However, it seems my path may be deviating towards somewhere else. If it isn't too much to ask, would it be possible to trade these blades in for a singular weapon of similar quality? Do you have any pewter staffs available for use? If not, it is fine as your blades are still completely servicable, but still..."

Lew raised his head back at the NPC, his eyes filled with the same resolve he had when he had first encountered her. In truth, it was likely because he was so much more closer to judge the details of her feet.

"Whether that request can be fulfilled or not, I have come to you regardless due to your trustworthiness... Do you have directions for the Shin-Yu Temple?"

Having a Discord sounds cool for organization purposes. I'll have my character up come the beginning of the week, hopefully!
I've also decided that both the English Teacher and Leader's Mother would be best off in my hands due to several plot reasons.
It also prevents someone from accidentally confirming the Leader's surname.
It also prevents.. discrepancies of a certain type. Shhh.
:)

Ok either of them probs has an alien womb or is nyarlethotep or something
Cult member, you say? Fufufu..

i see this has now become the untitled cult game

Also, feel free to PM me regarding the role-specific things I need to keep in mind whenever they're ready. Got a nice draft of my character so far, but will wait for the details to be set in as well as the setting to be established before I fully get those down~
