2nd character app up. I'll try to flesh out the personality later. I need to run for class/ta stuff.
Name: Abra Class: Mage Age: 23 Sex: Female Appearance:
Equipment: Elfire, Vulnerary (3 uses) Personality: When someone first meets Abra, that person would describe her in one of two ways. One person might describe her as peppy and carefree, trying to look at the bright side of life. Another, on the other hand, would say that she is very studious and has a thirst for knowledge. While these two personalities might seem to class (“Don’t waste a single hour of the day” vs. “I want to read this thousand page book!”), both of them, to a certain extent, are only fronts that Abra uses to hind the pain that she has experienced in her life. Otherwise, she probably would break down crying. Abra was extremely close to Helike (the kind old witch who raised her). If she happens to lose any memorabilia of her foster mother, Abra might become rash in her attempt to retrieve said item. Her witch’s hat possesses a priceless value for Abra, as it was Helice’s last gift to her before Abra’s foster mother died. Trying to stop her usually would be fruitless, unless one could either physically or magically can restrain her from putting herself into harm’s way. And if she could not retrieve it, well, Abra probably would not be in such a chipper mood. Once someone has earned her trust, Abra will be loyal until the end. However, once must first earn this near-unbreakable trust. However, until that level of trust has been reached, Abra keeps at least one eye open, looking out for anyone who wishes to take advantage of her, either for her intelligence or anything else. Biography: 23 Years ago, an infant was exposed in the forest (Greek Mythology style). Nevertheless, some of the forest animals took pity on the child and placed her on the doorstep (Santa Claus is Coming to Town style) of a kind old witch named Helike. The kind old witch took in the child and raised the child on her own (using her magic to compensate for her growing age). Once Abra was old enough, Helike began to teach her some basic, almost harmless magic, like making objects levitate and such. What was surprising to the kind of witch was not that Abra caught on, but at the pace at which she learned. When Abra had exhausted all the spells and incantations that the kind old witch was comfortable with teaching the young lass, Helike had to resort to throwing theoretical books on more advanced topics to hold her over until Abra was old enough to do some more advanced magic. And from time to time (more often than not as she was running out of things to give her young apprentice), Helike would take Abra down to the nearby village so that the young girl could interact with real people lest Abra grow up without any social skills whatsoever. Once Abra had turned 16, Helike finally decided that it was about time to allow her young pupil attempt some more potent magic (of course under the kind old witch’s supervision). Nowadays (I mean modern day Earth), 16 year olds would get excited about getting their driving permit and being able to drive. This would had been the same amount of excitement that Abra felt when she finally was allowed to advance in her magical training. For her whole birthday, the young girl practiced and learned the new material. By the end of the day, she had entirely wore-out Helike, who immediately retired to her sleeping quarters. However, Abra was too excited to go to sleep yet. Therefore, after the kind old witch had went to bed, Abra snuck down stairs and picked out one of the spell books that had been previously off-limits until that day. Once she reentered her room without making a sound, she peeled open the book and began to look for a spell to try. However, as she looked through the book, none of the spells in it looked familiar, or at least her foster parent did not show any of them to her. After taking some time sorting through some bizarre hexes and spells, Abra finally found one that looked somewhat normal. She placed an apple on a plate and tried to make it grown. However, after the first and second tries, nothing happened. She then looked back at the tome and looked over the spell again, double checking to make sure she was not doing anything wrong. When she made a third attempt, something did finally happen. For a brief second, a bright, white light enveloped the young girl’s room. For the next few minutes, she just sat there, listening to see if her light night activities had stirred awake the kind old witch. But fortunately, all the work that they had achieved the past day had worn the old woman out so much that even that flash of light could not wake her up. When Abra noticed that the apple had not been affected whatsoever, she quickly (yet quietly) closed the book and returned it to Helike’s library and returned to bed. The next morning, when she woke up, Abra felt weird. There were not any physical changes, but something just felt off. When she went out for breakfast, Helike was already busy at work making a hearty meal, knowing fully that they both would need all the energy they could get in order to get though another day of teaching and learning. But at the first mention of magic, Abra burst into tears, admitting everything that happened last night. Helike consoled her, telling the young girl that there was no such thing a complete failures, but accidents that allow for personal growth. As the years slipped by, Abra found herself taking care of the old witch more and more as her condition slowly slipped away. For six years, the young apprentice had to go to town to get supplies for the one person who had spent the last several years raising her. The trips began to become more common as the years piled up. Or they did until recently. One night, Helike was bedridden and Abra fell asleep keeping watch over her sick foster mother. Before she passed away, Helike, using the last bit of strength she had, repaired her own witch’s hat, as if it were brand new, placed the hat upon her young apprentice’s slumbering head. With this final gift, Helike took her final breath. Once Abra finally woke up the next morning, her heart was drowned with pain and sorrow when she saw her foster mother lying peacefully in her own bed. What broke her heart even more was that Helikes’ final gift. Finding the hat on her head, Abra knew that Helike was thinking about her when she passed away.
I'll fix mine up once you fix up yours.
Sounds good.

Well, since one of one of our resident mages have been exchanged for a different character, I will try to throw up my mage app sometime tomorrow. I just need to finish the personality section.
So instead of pushing to keep the door closed, we would be pulling on it instead?
Yes.
For those who has characters appearing in my last post (which was a dream sequence), just let me know if anything isn't cool and I can change it.

The bright beams of the sun blared into my eyes, stirring me up from my sleep. Considering the fiasco of last night, I only wished that I could have remained a sleep for a little bit longer. For some reason, I felt the chilling February morning air against my face. Weird. How could that be when I fell asleep inside? If our heating broke again, I swear, heads are going to roll. But that wasn’t the only thing that felt ‘off’. I felt the ebb of water striking my body and then immediately recede back whence it came. I wish I didn’t open up my eyes. When I opened up my eyes, I saw what seemed like a miniature city laying before me. The city was isolated on an island that was close to the shore, only being separated from the mainland by what seemed like a single channel, lined with several large bridges. Everything looked so small. The skyscrapers and the other large buildings were small. The vehicles were like tiny insects crawling along the streets. As I stumbled to my feet, I felt that something was off. I couldn’t tell what the most jarring feeling that alarmed me was. That I couldn’t feel my arms at all. That I could feel not one pair of feet, but four! Or that my center of gravity was closer to the ground than usual. But when I starred at my reflection in the ocean by that miniature city, I knew immediately what was wrong. My head was freaking grafted to the body of a spider! It was like that one dream I had where I was a spider (albeit for my head). However, in that dream, I was, comparatively, smaller than my surroundings, unlike my current circumstances. While I was contemplating the image I saw in the ocean, I felt a giant impact smash against my face, causing me to tumble down to the ground. When I looked up, there was a small man hovering above me. A man who was decked out in a silver and blue costume. Wait! Was I the one who was giant, instead of that city and that man being tiny? Isn’t there some square-cube law or something along those lines that made animals my size (assuming I am the one who is giant-sized) an impossibility? “I would turn back if I were you” The man in the blue and silver said to me. Due to the size difference between us, his voice sounded higher than one would expect a man of his size (I mean, in relation to a ‘normal’ size human). ”But I haven’t done any…” I began to say, but I was interrupted when the silver and blue metahuman started to dive-bomb me. Instinctively, I tried to put up my hands to defend myself. But, since I obviously don’t have hands anymore, let alone arms, I saw that my front legs reacted instead, swapping the man away from me. He was sent flying back into the city, where he crash landed. Did I just kill him? I couldn’t have, right? Isn’t that guy supposedly the strongest metahuman on Earth, or at least of those trying to protect us? Weird I said ‘us’. He obviously wasn’t trying to defend me, but I still identified with the collective ‘us’. Then suddenly a warning shot flew above my head. I turned my attention toward the origin of the attack and I saw dozens of military vehicles with all their weapons aimed at me. Once I took a single step, the vehicles unleashed a barrage of missiles at me. While the pain from being struck by these military grade weapons was excruciating, fortunately (or unfortunately, mattering how you look at things) my healing factor was still around, patching up my wounds as they came. Not matter how much fire power they dished out at me, while it still hurt like hell, my body still recovered from their attacks just fine. Once the missile barrage ended, I began to feel thousands of legs crawling around on my body. However, the weirdest part about it was that it seemed like these feet were crawling off me, not the other way around. After a few seconds, I realized what was happening. Thousands upon thousands of man-sized spiders rushed toward the city, viciously attacking anything or anyone in its path. I saw several caped crusaders attempting to defend the city from the arachnoid infestation. I saw one girl using electricity produced from her own body to subdue some of the spiders. There was a man using gadgets and his own physical finesse to combat the spiders, while accompanied by someone (couldn’t tell the sex from this distance) in some kind of armor. There was that energy-powered metahuman who helped me against that demon-snake thing (if he would say anything about spinning webs out of my butt, I would squash him). I even saw those two metahumans who were kidnapped with me. Even Athena was by their side. She’s helping them, but not me. Figures. But one by one, each of the heroes fell to the hordes of monstrous spiders. Was I really the cause of this destruction? I couldn’t be. How could I? I didn’t unleash them, or at least not on purpose. But what if it was my fault? What if…? Before I could ponder more on that question, three figures flew up towards me. One of them was the silver and blue clad hero, apparently surviving his first encounter. Next to him was the armored man who had kidnapped me and those other two metahumans that were fighting alongside with Athena. Along with those two was that armored bitch who trapped me in that net, which Athena had to remove for me. ”Man, why haven’t I invented the Uni-beam yet?” The man in the middle said aloud, prompting concerned looks from the other two heroes who flanked him on either side, especially considering the state that the city was currently in. “Hit it with everything you got.” The silver and blue clad hero told the other two in a calm voice. Before I knew it, a bright white light blinded me, the result of the three characters combining their powers against me. However, before I felt anything, I heard something ringing. My alarm clock stirred me from my sleep, saving me from the nightmare that I had been experiencing. Thank God all that was just a dream. When I woke up, I found out that my head was no longer attached to the body of a giant body. However, that did not mean that I was back to “normal”, even if you considered “normal” as my appearance after the “Extreme Makeover” I experienced. Instead, my lower body was now grafted to the cephalothorax of a human-sized spider. Well, at least I’m not getting blasted in the face by three metahumans (or rather one metahuman and two humans in Iron Man wannabe suits).
Before I make my next Spider-Man post, I want to fix my last post. I kind of made the door open the wrong way. >.< All bedroom doors that I know of open so that the door goes into the room, rather than out of.
