Current That isekai idea works until you take into account the advanced part and include things like AI, brain machine interfaces, etc. Knowledge can just be downloaded.

Unless you love kids a little too much, then a prison sentence is what can be done about it.

Actually, if we're going by posting order, it looks like maybe you're next -- unless something else is joining?

Nope, already posted and waiting on Vega7 I believe. Could be mistaken of course, but I'd figured they'd want their Administrators to react to my character's landing on one of their servant worlds. Especially since we decided via PM to have our respective characters/factions interact with each other.

Rayner let out a small sigh of exhaustion as he picked up another steel beam and bolted one end of it into place, before climbing back down the small step ladder he was using and shifting it over to the other pillar he was reinforcing. Climbing back up, Rayner proceeded to screw in some more bolts when his dirty blond haired coworker Luke walked through the front of the unfinished and unfurnished department store with an extension cord and bag of tools in hand. Rayner stepped down from the ladder again and, folding it up, walked over to a nearby countertop before setting the object down beside it. Grabbing a bottle of water from off the top, he opened it and took a swig as he turned to face Luke.

"So... management pulled you from your game to take over for me huh?" He said, chuckling lightly.

"Yeah. I was on the last hole to. Almost won, but then the call came in and well... here I am." He replied, shrugging slightly as he placed the cord and his bag on the cold tile floor.

"Well. Shit. I told them I had this. Said I didn't need any help today, I'm just putting up some bracing after all. It's not that hard." Rayner said, taking off the white hardhat he was wearing as he wiped some sweat from his brow with his shirt sleeve. "But if it's what management wants, then it's what management wants." Shrugging slightly, Rayner tucked his hat underneath his arm and started walking towards the door, briefly patting Luke on the back as he went. "Good luck on your shift." Striding past him, Rayner exited the building and headed towards his apartment a building a few blocks away. As he did so however, he walked past an electronics store and saw a row of tv's on display showing an afternoon news report in which a robbery was reported to have taken place in a bank a few blocks away.

Rayner paused for a moment as the news anchor went onto to ask those watching to turn in any information regarding the incident to the proper authorities. Turning away from the partially glare obscured screens and resuming his trek back to his apartment, a small smile wormed its way across his lips as he wove through the crowds of pedestrians milling about the area...

It seemed as though tonight would be the perfect time to hunt down this elusive thief.

"Glad to hear it. Sending you coordinates now." Valtrix said as he broadcasted a flight path to his ship via a mental command to Ikani's craft. Slowly leaning forward, Valtrix quickly disconnected his mind from the ships systems and got to his feet. Straightening his beige outfit which consisted of a form fitting shirt that had a diagonal slant beginning on the bottom left at the hip before ending just at his right thigh, a pair of simple pants, and a pair of plain white shoes, truly a design that valued efficiency over style or flair, Valtrix began making his way towards the docking bay near the front left-or right from the views of most of the other ships in the surrounding area-of the ship.

While he wanted to find out what was going on, and trusted the other's to keep their word, he didn't quite trust them enough to meet them in the Renatus's bridge. While he doubted they even knew how to work his people's technology, Valtrix still didn't feel like taking the risk. Especially if things escalated during the meeting. His ship could function without a docking bay. But without a functional command center, it'd be nothing more than a fancy looking brick, floating in space. And, sure, there was always the Auxiliary Bridge, but it lacked a control chair and thus didn't have most of the functionality he was used to.

It also made flying the craft pretty much impossible without a crew, as one needed multiple people to effectively man all the various station's and console's in that part of the ship.

"Perhaps abandoning my crew wasn't such a good idea after all. But then again, I don't think they would have taken my desertion very well. Heh, if they were still here, they probably would have locked me into one of the stasis pods and dropped me on the nearest habitable planet." Valtrix mused, as he stepped inside a teleporter leading to the lower decks. Disappearing in a flash of light, Valtrix rubbed his eye's briefly as he reappeared in a small alcove in the right wall of the hallway which led to the ships hanger, his vision having been temporarily disrupted by the flash of light that signalled the transportation and subsequent rearrangement of his atoms in that area. Shaking a bit to get rid of any leftover nervousness or worry, Valtrix adjusted his collar a bit before schooling his face into a mask of stoic calm and waving his hand in front of a glowing button embedded in the wall to his right, causing the door to the ships hangar to slide open with a silent vwoosh. Clasping his hands behind his back, Valtrix let out one final sigh as he stepped through into the room beyond and waited for Broodmother Ikani's arrival.
Just a heads up, my post may be really short. I don't have very much to write from Valtrix's point of view in any regard.
I'll see about getting a post up today. Motivation to write has been low for me lately.
So it's been 2 months. And I'd like for this to keep going, but it doesn't seem like the person I had planned on interacting with intends on posting anything. I'll hold out for a bit longer, but if this doesn't pick up soon, then I'm afraid I'll have to drop.

There are still towns and cities throughout the Shattered Scar, but they're under loose control of the Blackthorn Coven and must make regular sacrifices to them. It's a bleak and miserable existance.

Now I want Rayner to go to one of these places. Maybe someone drives him from Brooklyn and he heads into the heart of the Shattered Scar. It would be fun to explore his views of it. Provided he doesn't die of course.

Apophis heard another bellow echo across the desolate landscape as he silently glided across it. Twisting through the air as he went, Apophis climbed higher and higher, until his shadow blotted out most of the sunlight that would have normally been illuminating the ground below. As he drew closer to Giza, to his old foe and his so called subjects, he craned his head down and to the right as his misty gray eye searched for any sign of the crimson titan. He glided overhead for several minutes, causing a small sandstorm to start engulfing the small human settlements hundreds of feet below, until he finally spotted the large hulking shape of his old foe standing on one of the Egyptians precious monuments. Landmarks which had since become worn by time and sand, their marble white polish and color now a distant memory. Much like the age it was once part of. Letting out another bellow to get his opponents attention, Apophis proceeded to sweep down and to the left, letting the harsh sunlight through once again. The old serpent hoped that it would be enough light to temporarily blind Horus so he could more easily approach. The last thing Apophis wanted was to have to deal with his heat based beam. Especially after this long in hibernation.

While his muscles were less stiff than they were earlier, the serpent knew that they were not yet loose enough for him to perform overly complex aerial maneuvers in order to avoid Horus's beam attack should he use it.

Tucking his wings into the sides of his long body, Apophis allowed himself to plummet towards the ground before quickly unfurling them once more and soaring round towards Horus from his right at an angle that would allow him to bite into his unprotected underbelly if executed correctly. And after finding a purchase in the gods flesh, he would proceed to coil his long serpentine body around him, before slowly crushing the air from his lungs.

Apophis's lips curled upwards in anticipation of the strike as he opened his maw, revealing two rows of sharp fangs.

Horus would not escape from his clutches this time.

Kalon did as he was told and joined the rest of his compatriots as arrows rained down all around them in a deadly storm. Readying a more single target based ice spell, Kalon brought up his hands and shot a couple of blasts into the woods, hoping to hit at least one of the Daedra with it. Ignoring the conversations and cries of everyone else in his group, as they would only distract him, the Altmer attempted to formulate a plan which would allow all of them to walk away from this confrontation. Preferably as intact as possible. Gazing out a the tree line through his mask, Kalon watched, somewhat surprised, as the Argonian newcomer cast a chameleon spell on himself and ran out to meet the denizens of Oblivion with balls of fire floating in either hand. The fool. Didn't he know that an offensive spell like that could be seen despite the fact that he was nearly invisible to the naked eye? And the fact that he was using fire of all things only made his chances of survival even worse, because these Daedra, once again, came from Mehrunes Dagon's realm. A place filled with the stuff.

Shaking his head as he muttered a curse, Kalon quickly readied another spell, when an idea suddenly popped into his mind. One that just might work if he could co-ordinate it right with these novices. Releasing the spell and letting it fade away into nothingness, Kalon turned towards Zazar and ran to him, or rather the floating orbs of fire that signified where he was, at full speed. Placing a gauntleted hand against his back, or what Kalon assumed was his back anyway, the elf cast an Encumbering Touch spell to keep him from moving, followed by a Guard, Shock Shield, and Ice Shield spell. Wrapping his arms around the Argonian in order to keep him from moving any further, Kalon leaned in closer in order to be heard of the sounds of arrows whizzing through the air.

"Do not move, no matter what happens. Understand? I have a plan to eliminate these archers, but it won't work if we move from this spot. Got that?" He said in a low, yet commanding tone. Unwrapping one of his arms from Zazar as arrows bounced off of, were disintegrated, or frozen on the shields surrounding them, Kalon readied a Telekinesis spell in his free hand and waited for more arrows to approach. This had to be timed perfectly or else they'd be stuck in this spot until the shields ran out. Taking a breath to steady himself after casting three different spell variations in quick succession, Kalon watched as a new volley of arrows were loosed directly at them. As they drew closer, Kalon calmly raised his hand into the air and cast the spell, causing the projectiles to stop in their tracks. Smirking underneath his mask, Kalon let out a barely audible 'hmph' as he slowly rotated the arrows till they were facing the directions the had come from.

Angling them upwards slightly with the spell, Kalon proceeded to send them flying back at their owners with a small flick of his wrist and an amused grin on his masked face.
Just a heads up for everyone wondering, Rayner actually has to kill his victims in order to get their powers. He can't just stand within five feet and absorb them.
