Current That isekai idea works until you take into account the advanced part and include things like AI, brain machine interfaces, etc. Knowledge can just be downloaded.

Unless you love kids a little too much, then a prison sentence is what can be done about it.

Vitius rose from his seat with a sigh, his mind still stuck on all the ways in which this expedition could go wrong, and strode over to the entrance of the tavern. Pulling his hood down until half of his face was cloaked in shadow, the old vampire opened the door and stepped outside, where he waited for the rest of the group to catch up. If they wanted too, that is. Should no one join him within the next few minutes or so he would simply explore the ruins by himself.

Sephiroth nodded slowly as he listened to Blazermate's explanation, clasping his hands behind his lower back as he did so. Spirits seemed to be, as far as he could tell anyway, the most valuable thing here in terms of benefits and power. Thus the one-winged angel resolved to find and absorb as many strong ones as he possibly could, though with some care of course. As a perfect being, it wouldn't do for him to marr his true form too much. A balance had to be struck, perhaps by taking spirits into his mind only or as strikers like the machine had said, as he doubted he'd need them as weapons. His Masamune was more than enough in that regard, plus he could upgrade it with Materia as well, assuming he found any during his travels that is. So far the machine's explanation made perfect sense, and gave him quite a few ideas as to how he might get powerful enough to utterly destroy Galeem. It was only when she said not to attack Galeem's people that he was given some pause, his eyebrows raising ever so slightly. Of course this too she explained, and upon hearing it he had to force himself not to laugh. Peaceful or not, the only friends he'd ever had were Genesis and Angeal, with his attitude towards everyone else—even the most loyal of fans—being complete indifference.

And to be honest he wasn't exactly keen on playing nice with something that had just tried to kill him a few minutes prior. Still, he could see some logic in the machine's words. From what he'd felt while under Galeem's influence, weakness aside, Sephiroth knew that the aforementioned puppets would not cease their attacks. Not if they could help it anyway. Thus he deigned to spare the rod and spoil the child, if only so he wasn't swarmed and... overwhelmed while out in the field, the very idea of which still managed to make him sick. Thankfully he didn't have to ponder this unsavory probability for very long, as the machine swiftly broke him from his thoughts with an offer to go to the beach. Apparently to find or meet up with, he wasn't entirely sure, another team. Blue to be exact. Pondering it for a moment, Sephiroth did his best to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of such a move while Blazermate extolled the niceness of her turtle-dragon friend, Bowser and in a rather annoying tone of voice too. Eventually, however, he reached a decision.

"Alright," he said, turning his attention back to Blazermate. "I'll tag along, though you do realize a beach still has plenty of sand right?"

He gave the machine a smile that bordered on patronizing, but wasn't quite there just yet.

Hey guys I'm feeling really burnt out at the moment for personal reasons, but I'll try to be online early Tuesday. I'm sorry for my lack of work I'm just stressed right now.

If you want, we could finish the dialogue up and then head to the ruins ourselves. Unless you had something in mind, like encounters, that is?

Sephiroth felt his scowl fade as directions to the nearest available map were given, his lips working their way into a cocky grin once again. The map could wait for the time being, as could his desire to get a better lay of the land, however. Knowing more about the topography of this strange world he was in was all well and good, but learning how it actually worked would be even better. He'd noticed the strange features that poked and twisted their way out of the other fighter's forms, and heard mention of spirits from the dragon-turtle while they were in the Dead Zone as well, all of which only helped pique what little curiosity he had concerning the matter even more. So, seeing how almost everyone else had gone their separate ways but him, the dragon, and the robot, Sephiroth decided to see if one of them knew more about how things worked here. Or if the machine knew more rather, as given their interactions and the chaos from earlier, he doubted the beast was in the mood to humor him.

"So how do things work around here," Sephiroth asked as he sauntered over to the machine. "I've heard mention of spirits, seen the strange mutations of your comrades, and found myself quite intrigued by them as a result."

He paused midstride with a tsk as he laid a hand upon his chest, taking a step back before shaking his head ever so slightly, as though he had just remembered something extremely important and was chiding himself for his own forgetfulness.

"Ah, but where are my manners?"

Sephiroth leaned forward ever so slightly, gesturing to Blazermate as he did so.

"What, may I ask, is your name?"

Vitius gave the necromancer a sideways glance followed by a small shrug.

"Suit yourself," he said simply. "But keep in mind that, other than sitting here in this tavern, the ruins are the only choice we've got."

Despite his attempt at persuasion, Vitius considered simply leaving the man here. Although he hadn't said anything at the time, he had seen just how jittery and nervous the poor bastard was when he first walked in. Nerves like that could get you killed on the battlefield, as he himself knew, and throw your allies into disarray. And the last thing he wanted was to be fighting off some beast in some dark and dank ruin somewhere, only to have his shaky friend their balk when he was needed the most. Of course that wasn't even the end of his problems either. In truth Vitius took issue with the composition of the entire party as it currently stood. Not only did he not know most of their skills, though the newest arrival had the look of a hunter so that was something at least, but those he was aware of were all useless in a combat scenario. Sure the lass seated next to him could play a pretty tune, but could she hold her own in a fight? As for the ragged man, he was far too jumpy for Vitius to even think of relying on, let alone fighting alongside.

As for the fae, while he had seen one during his time in the Hoods, he hadn't had the chance to work alongside her for any considerable amount of time and thus wasn't too sure about how useful the one that had joined them the night before would be. Still, his small size made him a hard target to hit, so perhaps that counted for something. Not much, but something. In the end, however, it seemed that the huntress—assuming she was a competent one—was the only individual here he could possibly see making a kill, although hunting an animal was very different from hunting a man or beast. Two things he felt would be patrolling the ruins to the south in abundance, be it together or apart. All in all it was quite the piss-poor group he had as far as battle readiness went, but perhaps they'd get lucky and find nothing there but crumbling stone and rotting plants.

Personally though, Vitius doubted it'd be that easy.

Things never are...
So I notice there's a geography section. Might be a good idea to list the tavern itself and maybe the southern ruins as locations, with brief descriptions of course, for future reference.

Also, I assume that section will slowly fill up as this goes along and we gradually add more locations?

Vitius shrugged upon hearing the songstress' words.

"Seems as though that's the only lead we have, so it's probably best we take it. Besides..."

He tilted his head from left to right and back again, working out the knots and cramps.

"It wouldn't be my first time traipsing through some abandoned brickwork."

Vitius glanced over at the girl, his eyes narrowing somewhat as he weighed the worth of venting to two complete strangers. Eventually he seemed to relent, hunching forward with the slightest of sighs.

"My problem has to do with the inn keep," he explained, his gauntleted fingers drumming heavily against the table's weathered grain. "I asked for, requested actually, some manner of animal blood last night. I did this so no one here would be harmed as a result of my thirst, yet I was ignored and refused."

The old vampire picked at his scalp with his free hand lazily.

"So I had to spend the entire night resisting the urge to feed on the other patrons. It's not my first time doing so of course, but it's also not something I find particularly enjoyable either, hence my dour mood this fine morning."
