Seeing actual bushfire footage looks straight out of Hell... It moves so quickly and so powerfully, literally the trees just ignite. You firefighters are absolute legends, but please, don't die.

Welcome to my little personal den of Hell! Sorry, sorry, I meant my personal profile. Same thing, right?
I'm a roleplayer, same as any around here. I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:
Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!
As you can see, that particular tactic fucking failed. Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is Chrom x Robin (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?
Speaking of loonies, the Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Hell, even if you're not interested in that, I do highly recommend watching it for those into fantasy love stories. The quality improves drastically with each episode, so trust me when I say by the end of it you should be thoroughly impressed. It has helped motivate me in ways I can hardly describe with words, and so I thought the least I could do was put this out there. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.
"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?" "Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."
"So I heard."
"There are better places to take a nap than on the ground, you know."
There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.
There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! And on one of them, eventually, complex life evolved and one of the species developed large brains learned things like manners and dabbing, when they looked up at the stars and wonder what they were doing here. You called them octopuses, I suppose. Gosh, they were clever, for octopuses, and one of them, several million years in, almost wrote something in ink on the seafloor, a message to its friend. And the message almost read: "Hi! How are you?" And a few millennia later, space folder back on itself and, you get the idea. Goodbye Octopi.
There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. And finally, when everything was sorted, the galaxies were arranged into perfect geometric formations, transmitting pure love, and wisdom, and birthday greetings to all species in the universe, for all time. Papercuts never happened, coke came in glass bottles, no one even remembered the word for war, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever. Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.
There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms. Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. Another with too many dimensions. Another with not enough. Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn to survive. Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion. And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution. An atlas of dead-ends.
Then again, there is one exception.
There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness. And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.
@6slyboy6 I only just got accepted by the co-GM, so in all honesty I could be anywhere :P I was imagining going full Fire Emblem: Awakening as one last reference and waking up in the middle of a field, but really I can put Emile just about anywhere with the right amount of writing ^-^
And heyooo to you too! :D Good to see you again, 6!
"Allow me to introduce myself... Erm, which name was it, again?"
Age 21, if memory serves.
Gender No schtick. She is a woman.
Race Halfling; half elven, half human. The details are foggy, though, especially when she hadn't inherited elven ears.
Blessings Blessing of Dual Magicka: Basically what you'd expect of a Blessing with that name, the Blessing of Dual Magicka bestows upon the blessed the ability to use two (often opposing) types of magic instead of one. In Emile's case, this is Yin and Yang magic. Although powerful if controlled, it is incredibly difficult to use both types of magic at the same time, as the wielder has but a single gate which both types of magic may access. Those experienced with the blessing are said to be able to quickly use their two magics almost as though they could use both simultaneously. This is much easier in the case of Yin-Yang users, as the quick switching between buff and debuff magic generally don't require constant casting.
Magic Yin and Yang, though has limited knowledge on her spellcasting save for Shamak and Akra. Return By Death, too.
Personality
Kind-hearted, noble and just are but a few of the things one may call Emile. At the same time she can often be conflicted, confusing, or just enstranged in general. The odd clash between two differing personalities, as though merged together, makes Emile confusing at best and alien at worst. It's not that she speaks another language (even though she can), or that she acts like an oddball. It's simply the things she says often roll off her tongue as though people would know of such things, like a cell phone or a pomme. Naturally this would confuse just about anyone who hadn't come from another world, yet she speaks as though these things are one in the same. She finds deep turmoil in her lost memories, trying to discern what is real and what isn't, and isn't very fond of the topic in general.
Background
Emile's story is a... difficult one. One that she can hardly comprehend herself, in fact. You see, Emile appears to not only have amnesia, but also...
She recollects two entirely different sets of memories as her own.
Life in the Overrealm, commonly referred to by others of a similar position as "Earth", was one of high-quality and pampering. Emile grew up in a country known as France, as the rich little girl of the Pâtre family. She only knows of bits and pieces of her past life in the Overrealm, being a gifted student in school, practitioner and competitor for fencing, and foggy memories of her mother, though oddly not her father. She can recall she had a father, yet strangely no such memories of him directly exist, save for one memory when he finished reading her a bedtime story when she was young and exited the room as she drifted off to sleep. Her mother, on the other hand, was present in many memories, however her face never seemed to show itself, blurred by damaged neurons. Oddly, she can recall her graduation ceremony, from high school clear as day...
On the other hand, she also has memories of growing up in Lugnica, as a noblewoman bound to privacy most of her life. Though she can't remember everything perfectly, she does remember a fair bit more about Lugnica, and the life she lived. Oddly, it was very similar to memories of Earth, achieving good grades in academics, training under the tutelage of a master fencer, and foggy memories of both her parents. Although on Earth she couldn't remember much about her parents, she knew her mother was elven here in Lugnica, and her father a human. She could recall lessons on both light and dark magic, Yin and Yang, from her respective parents, and the one true friend she had in the world: her fencing master. Though she can't quite remember his name and face, there were many fond memories between the two of them, and that for some reason she feels really bad when thinking of him.
Now, waking up from a deep slumber in the middle of a field, Emile needs to find her own place in life, and her memories. Oddly, the only name she can remember, unsure of if it be even her own, belongs to a certain "Emile von Pâtre".
Likes Kittens! Kind people. The like-minded. Sweets~! Study, practice, and working. Games. Tactics. Understanding. Fencing, swordplay. Magic! The violin, though she can't play. At all.
Dislikes The dark ;-; Yes, she's still very much afraid of the dark. The color red (it reminds her of blood, which she is very much afraid of). Creatures other than humans, elves or nekomimi. Mistrust, secrecy and the like. Bandits, thieves or other such no-good-doers. Maps. They are impossibly confusing. (Blame amnesia) Reading and writing, since she can't seem to do so very well. (Blame this on amnesia too) Bullies. Death. Vegetables, save for a select few. Thinking upon her memories. Getting anxious. A lot of fears she doesn't even remember.
Can I just quickly say, @FamishedPants automatically has the best character because of the sources for his appearance and personality :D
Still accepting? I know I play the amnesiac far too often, but I went for a bit of a twist with this one.

Ren hoped that the older boy would be their other opponent. Something about him felt different to the others, and Ren couldn't quite explain. To be fair, she was always more familiar with older or younger individuals than those of her own age. She knew how to treat kids like kids and adults like adults, but in-between was like a total mystery to her, hence the misunderstanding between Ren, Erika and Claire earlier in the day. However, Ren had little time to concern herself with such matters. She had a fight to win.
"Shyn, you ready?"
Ren was surprised when the little electric type jumped in front of her and began sparking with energy. Though it was hardly powerful, just enough to generate a bit of light and some sparks. When his little light show faded, Ren snapped her attention back to the pair before them; the type match-up wasn't too good, be it long-term or short. But alas, she had a strategy in mind already.
That was when Lucian said his piece. "Would you deal with the horsea? Houndour isn't the most effective against water types.." Ren already knew Houndour wouldn't be particularly effective against either party, however he knew as well as she that Shyn at least held some merit over Horsea. She nodded in understanding. "You heard him, Shyn. Let's take down the Horsea." Shyn acknowledged this order and took a defensive stance, leaning back on his hind legs, ready to pounce at any moment. Their opponent would likely seize a chance to pounce at her comrade should she not be an optimal distraction, and thus she opted to make the second move for her team.
"Shyn, close the gap. Flash 'em right in the eyes."
"Shyn, Shyn!" The Shinx replied with another small spark, before sprinting directly at Horsea. From their earlier mini-training, Ren guesstimated that Shyn's greatest attributes was his speed and strength. That said, she didn't want the enemy to start landing hits on the little guy, and would prioritize avoidance of blows as much as possible. If she could completely blind one of the two opposing Pokemon, she could turn the battle into two separate two-on-one battles, therefore easing the pressure on Houndour and Shyn.
Shyn took to the order immediately and bolted right for Horsea with a speed that may seem surprising to the other trainers, though as Ren had just seen Shyn's capabilities, she had an idea of when to call his moves. "Now!" The aqua-haired teen ordered, and quickly Shyn began building up electricity as he ran from the contraction of muscles, before releasing the discharge when he was close enough to Horsea. Even if it didn't blind the Pokemon, it would give them a few brief seconds to strike them from the blinding light of the flash.
Sorry for not being able to get online ;-; My only excuse is that Fire Emblem and school starting has been taking up way too much of my time :P If you guys wanna turn the fight into a 1v1 that's cool with me; knowing me I won't be completely active yet, though I do plan on being productive tomorrow :D Again, really sorry for the unexplained absence.

And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?<br><br>Speaking of loonies, the <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeAWfrBMa2pytnTYnxAtiphQGJU3ojDD7">Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project</a> has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.<br>	<br><br>	<br>	</div></th></tr></thead></table></div><br><img src="https://alynerd.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/tumblr_nvrmdwbdkf1ruyji8o1_1280.jpg?w=840" /><br><br><div class="bb-right"><font color="darkblue">"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?"</font><br><font color="purple">"Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."</font></div><hr class="bb-hr"><div class="table-responsive"><table class="bb-table table"><thead class="bb-thead"><tr class="bb-tr"><th class="bb-th"><font color="darkblue">"So I heard."<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	</font></th><th class="bb-th"><div class="bb-center"><img src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DkvxGnlWwAEShes.jpg" /></div></th><th class="bb-th"><div class="bb-right"><font color="purple">"There are better places<br>to take a nap than <br>on the ground, you know."<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	</font></div></th></tr></thead></table></div><div class="hider-panel"><div class="hider-heading"><button type="button" class="btn btn-default btn-xs hider-button" data-name="A Hymn For Goldilocks">A Hymn For Goldilocks [+]</button></div><div class="hider-body" style="display: none"><div class="bb-center"><img src="https://static.tumblr.com/b572f57912d8b5345269f9dc72e04359/yveunmd/zEwn8f4ke/tumblr_static_4fc6jqggm90kg048ok0kkw0ww_640_v2.jpg" /></div><br><br>There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.<br><br>There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! <br>Goodbye Octopi.<br><br>There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. <br><br>And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever.<br>Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.<br><br>There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms.<br>Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. <br>Another with too many dimensions.<br>Another with not enough.<br>Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn<br>to survive.<br>Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion.<br>And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution.<br>An atlas of dead-ends.<br><br>Then again, there is one exception.<br><br>There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness.<br>And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. <br>It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.<br><br>~Exurb1a</div></div></div>
