Seeing actual bushfire footage looks straight out of Hell... It moves so quickly and so powerfully, literally the trees just ignite. You firefighters are absolute legends, but please, don't die.

Welcome to my little personal den of Hell! Sorry, sorry, I meant my personal profile. Same thing, right?
I'm a roleplayer, same as any around here. I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:
Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!
As you can see, that particular tactic fucking failed. Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is Chrom x Robin (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?
Speaking of loonies, the Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Hell, even if you're not interested in that, I do highly recommend watching it for those into fantasy love stories. The quality improves drastically with each episode, so trust me when I say by the end of it you should be thoroughly impressed. It has helped motivate me in ways I can hardly describe with words, and so I thought the least I could do was put this out there. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.
"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?" "Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."
"So I heard."
"There are better places to take a nap than on the ground, you know."
There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.
There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! And on one of them, eventually, complex life evolved and one of the species developed large brains learned things like manners and dabbing, when they looked up at the stars and wonder what they were doing here. You called them octopuses, I suppose. Gosh, they were clever, for octopuses, and one of them, several million years in, almost wrote something in ink on the seafloor, a message to its friend. And the message almost read: "Hi! How are you?" And a few millennia later, space folder back on itself and, you get the idea. Goodbye Octopi.
There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. And finally, when everything was sorted, the galaxies were arranged into perfect geometric formations, transmitting pure love, and wisdom, and birthday greetings to all species in the universe, for all time. Papercuts never happened, coke came in glass bottles, no one even remembered the word for war, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever. Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.
There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms. Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. Another with too many dimensions. Another with not enough. Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn to survive. Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion. And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution. An atlas of dead-ends.
Then again, there is one exception.
There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness. And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.
@Delta44 ... Also, that signature is really disturbing to have to scroll over multiple times. I'm just mentioning. I might be a tad sensitive, but it impacts my happy Pokémon mood. It ties a knot in my heart and turns it not too comfortable, so to say.
Don't worry fam I got'chu ;) though I will miss my poor Sufferu, I think screaming Rowlett deserves recognition XD
Well dang! Seems I was beaten to the punch :P I'll keep tabs on this because it sounds like an interesting read regardless of my participation, though if a spot opens up I'd be happy to join, if you'd have me? ^-^
Name: Aether Oath Ether Age: 23 Place of Origin: Valkaina Species: Mirialan Height: 5'8 Weight: 72kg Gender: Female Class: Jedi Knight Position Tutor of the Force and survival; ace pilot.
Skills, Weapons and Abilities
Weapons: Aether wields two cyan-coloured blades, one of which having an unsteady lightsaber core, resulting in it sparking and shimmering. The stable core saber boasts a sleeker design and is the blade Aether is most familiar with. She wields this blade in her right hand in a reverse grip, the blade held backwards. On the other hand, the unstable core lightsaber is held menacingly in her left; the blade once belonged to her master, and thus she doesn't truly have much experience in wielding it. The hilt is shorter and larger, likely better suited for her master, though has a stronger grip to it. It also tends to be attracted to enemy blades, likely a result of the crystal within and it's power. Saber Skills: Aether lacks a great deal in the saber department, as very little of her training actually involved saber combat. Her fighting style involves elements of Soresu (form III) and Ataru (form IV), using quick movements to make decisive, defensive blocks, parries, and counters, along with swift and agile attacks to best her opponent. It generally revolves around simple hit-and-run tactics, using Soresu skills to defend against sabers and even blasters, and Ataru to deal swift strikes when openings arise. Due to Aether not fully mastering both styles, she can be easily overpowered or worn out if her opponent deals a relentless assault, and is more likely to use the Force to aid her in dangerous confrontations. Force Skills Telekinesis, Mind Tricks, Force Shield, Electric Judgement, Force Deflection, Tapas, Doppelganger, Breath Control, All Core Abilities, Battle Precognition, Force Wave, Alter Environment, Force Healing, Revitalize, and Transcend. Suffice to say, Aether is about as skilled as a Master when it comes to the Force. While the list may be large and versatile, her skill with each varies and many of the advanced skills, such as Alter Environment or Electric Judgement, are not only incredibly draining, but also require impossible levels of concentration. Thus, only level 2 skills and below can be applied practically. Source Weaknesses: In terms of physical and spiritual weaknesses, Aether lacks a lot in the power department, and her blade strikes don't quite have the 'oomph' most Jedi Knights do. While she boasts impressive stamina, her Ataru and Soresu skills can tire her out if used too aggressively and she isn't given enough time to recuperate. Her mind becomes especially fragile should this happen, and her Force abilities suffer as a result. Mentally, her weaknesses involve her having very little trust in her comrades, making certain exceptions to Jedi. This goes so far as to charge ahead of others alone and doing things herself, not because she feels more capable, but because she trusts herself more. Under extreme pressures her calm composure will snap, and she may submit herself to the dark side or lash out in anger for strength, however due to her training this is very unlikely. Lastly, outside of her military and Force knowledge, Aether knows very little in the way of the world outside. Though she knows how to fly, she isn't very good at landing...
Background
Aether was initially born without a name, a number taking it's place. #307 was what she was referred to by, and she didn't know her birthplace nor her parents. All she knew of her early life was racism and slavery...
She served as the working girl for slavers, spared of the horrific concept of being sold off at the expense of having to work for dishonest men. Though self-proclaimed 'gentlemen', Aether's 'masters' were not the nicest bunch, and she witnessed and even had to suffer through some of the atrocities they partook in firsthand. This began when she was five, and carried on for four long years, until one day, everything changed. The slavers were trading on a cold planet with dangerous clients. When the deal went south, those discussing the terms were shot dead by their associates, and a firefight ensued. The slavers were larger in number, but were poorly equipped, and were gunned down one by one. Aether hid throughout the ordeal, though upon her discovery, she was so afraid that she did the unthinkable...
... She manifested the dark side of the Force, for the first and only time since...
The young Mirialan escaped using her power, and fled out into the snow. The air was freezing and the clothes on her back were hardly enough to keep her conscious for an hour. As her nerves seemed to freeze and her mind went blank, her face hit the snow and her eyes glazed over, giving way to unconsciousness...
When she awoke, Aether found warmth she hadn't felt before, both physically and emotionally. An old man, who would soon become her new master, took her in and saved her. It was a kindness which would mold her years to come, and her rise as a Jedi. He was also the man who gave her the name Aether, after seeing her fascination with the stars; Oath coming from her oath to him and Ether after his own surname. He was a former Jedi, a hermit living in a world without others, having been expelled from the Jedi Order for not being a true follower of the Jedi Code. As such, he knew of the potential within Aether, and taught her everything he knew over the years to better her skills as a Jedi and in the Force.
The first thing Aether learned was control. Control of her emotions, control of her body, and control of her mind. It allowed her a deeper understanding of the Force, and controlled her previously unchecked emotions. Next was survival. The ability to fast, to hunt, and to use the Force to sense the world around her. From these two bases, Aether began learning the skills required to be a Jedi: lightsaber combat using one of her master's blades, Force abilities that her Master knew, how to have control of oneself, and the ability to survive in the wilds. Not to mention the flight knowledge she acquired from toying with the slaver ship her master brought back to their base, after finding it left in the middle of the snow, past memories resurfacing to help her understand it all. Over a nine year period, these skills only grew.
However, her master would soon become too old to continue. He also lacked much else to tutor Aether in the way of the Force as well as the blade, and felt his natural calling to become one with the Force. As he drew his remaining breaths, the old man officially declared her a Jedi Knight, and handed his disciple a holocron with instructions, directing the young woman to none other than Luthor Antilles himself. Though she had no idea why, she assumed her master used what little strength he had to search for the Jedi Master and pinpoint his location, presumably so Aether would be in safe hands after his passing. Whatever his motive, her master had lead her to Antilles, and she has stuck by him ever since.
Now a well-established member of the enclave, Aether teaches the new how to hone their skills with the force and to survive in these harsh lands. She herself still strives to become even better with a lightsaber, learning how to properly wield them through her own training, as well as bettering herself as a pilot. Though she may be a Jedi Knight, she doesn't think herself as such, and admits she has much to learn.
@DirtyDingo Should've clarified that wasn't necessarily the place she was born (she has no idea of that), but the place she was raised :3 Though I could always just change it or remove it.
Hope this is cool :3 If anything needs changing or reviewing just lemme know; I kinda chickened out and went with the easy route in the bio :P Stole the CS format from Azure's Gate RP (I love you, Lyla! :D)

Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn
to survive.

~Exurb1a
