The lighter half grabbed onto Matt's shirt and gently pulled on it to ask if the man would follow. She did the same thing to Nikki then turned around and walked away. The young woman slowly lead them into the cafeteria and pointed to the nearest set of chairs before continuing toward the kitchen to see if Jenna was there as well. She looked around only to have the muffins catch her eye. Erin snatched one quietly then tapped on her shoulder. " Can I borrow you for a little bit?"
Nikki watched curiously as Erin brought Jenna over seemingly puzzled.[color=lightred] "What are we doing?”[color] she asked Nikki. Nikki and Matt shrugged their shoulders and watched Erin.
" Since you three where the first ones inside the school I thought that it was best to tell you all at once. My father was a soldier in the Irish army and my mother's sister was a nurse. Actually that was how my parents met. Eventually he became a scientist. He would let me help out when I was about 6 or 7." she began. The girl shifted with the same look set upon her face as she continued." There was an explosion inside our home. I remember very little of the event though I know it happened so fast. I remember voices and sounds outside of the dark area I was in only to be blinded by a flood of lights." Erin stopped in order to allow the three to absorb the new information.
"Where were you when it happened? Were you asleep" Jenna asked.
" No. I was awakened by the smell of gas but since I was unhurt by the event and found where the ignition point was I was blamed. Vivian adopted me when I was 10 years old and brought me to America after she married. After that my Aunt seemed to notice some odd behavior and soon became worried. The woman knew I hated hospitals and doctors so she asked a friend to come and see me. I guess that Clara had gotten out by the time the man came because I came to with blood on my hands and scratches on his face. About a few days later he was arrested for a DUI or something like that." the girl shifted again.
" I was admitted to the children's hospital after that. This is where I met Alex. He was kind and charming so naturally I started to fall for him like an idiot. The one time I didn't take my pills she nearly killed him yet the boy never blamed me and always seemed to come back to visit. Eventually the visits stopped and I began letting the other side take over because I didn't want to feel anything. After a month I was released and when this outbreak happened I killed for the first time." she stopped and waited for that one specific question. Who was it.
Nikki looked at Erin "Who did you kill and why?"
" I was waiting for that part. My Aunt was bitten by a little boy so when she came home on her birthday I cleaned the wound out. My cousin was the one I killed Nikki and not by choice. She was bitten and after I killed our infected mother she caused me to flinch. Ava didn't want to become what Vivian had so in a way I helped her commit suicide and killed her at the same time." Erin's head looked around trying to avoid eye contact due to her tears forming.
Nikki stood up and put her hands on Erin's face and tilted it up so she could look into her eyes. "Erin, you did not kill your aunt or your cousin. You put them down so they wouldn't spend eternity rotting and devouring people. Do you understand that?" Nikki held the younger girl. "I need you to stay on that second medication that Matt gave you. It's to keep Clara under control. If the side effects don't go away in another week we'll try a different one ok?"
" No Nikki. I sick of being drugged up without a choice. I don't like how it makes me feel. So please don't make me take it anymore. Please." Erin whimpered as she clung on the mother figure in front of her. She was tired of constantly being under the influence of drugs and wanted it to come to an end.
