Arrish & Mema-Ka

Arrish cursed himself for not taking an Aimed shot at Minerva before she darted away and out of sight. He could still feel the memory of it as though it had all happened in slow motion. The heft of his spear and the line up of it straight into her body, but before he could even make a swing she was gone, darted off to the side.

Arrish didn’t hesitate. Instead he pulled up his comms and messaged Mema-ka right away ”For the duration of this battle, I’m making you my honorary knight. You first quest? Heh, let's just say we’re going hunting for the hound of the battlefield.”

"I read you. King Arthur. Relocating the holy grail south. Argo may be attempting to flank our position! Explosion to the north! Keep your guard up." Mema-Ka replied swiftly with a seldom shown moment of amusement, having seen Argo dash around the buildings, not knowing where it would appear next, the explosion to the north-east of their position also was telling that someone just got blown up. But who? That was a concern for later.

Mema-Ka moved his raptor on top of the Logic Diver, extending its extra pair of arms to pick it up, placing the egg-shaped framewerk against its back, like an oval backpack. Moving to [S-23] using extra arms to lift up Logic Diver, reducing movement, so the Raptor made a smaller jump to make as much distance as it could. [S-23] to [U-23]. It then peeked around the corner with its [Marker Light] seeking to hit the Argo if possible, and readied its [Free Reaction Shot] with the same weapon, expecting to see movement from the north, either behind the building where an explosion was felt or further north. The other team had framewerks that were able to conceal themselves. He wasn't the kind of person to leave any loose end.

”Better keep it to Lord Arrish, My knight. We wouldn’t want to start an international incident. He kept the amusement out of his tone, very serious stuff, but he had a smile on his face he couldn’t keep away.

Arrish’s thoughts slowed down and he thought about the small details that had happened so fast; There was what happened to Lucius, even if Arrish had been too busy to see what happened to rex artus, the radio silence was enough to cue him that something had gone wrong and the damaged frame had been within his line of sight.

Then there was that cute little display Bugatti had given him; What the hell was that? Arrish gritted his teeth and wondered if it was bait or if someone had pulled the wool over his head. Unless… Astolfo was… He shook his head and dismissed the thought. Head back in the game, Arrish. Don’t dawdle. Don’t hesitate.

”Something is wrong, mema-ka. That damn cockroach is up to something and I’m going to find out. Stay with Elora and reconnect with Aurora, my knight. I’m trusting her safety in your many hands. Arrish pulled his bastion back out of the virtual stone and brought his multi-form rod back into his hand, transforming it into the greater piercing spear. The hydraulics in horst’s legs clicked into place before launching herself forward in a horizontal leap from building to building.

[Marquess to Q-27]

"A bit too early for that, no?" He had replied to Arrish's mention of starting an international incident. The forest-green haired man allowed his hair to momentarily cast shadow over the top part of his face, a soft smile shaping on his lips for a brief moment, but vanishing almost as quickly as it appeared. There was a time for words and a time for action, right now they were in the latter. Sentences were to be kept brief... after all.

"Very well." Mema-Ka replied swiftly to Arrish's latter words. It was after all what he had planned all along to do. He couldn't help but scoff slightly on hearing Arrish insisting on calling him a knight. He was no knight. He was a bishop, and the last rites were going to be given. For how many? Time would tell. Which team would come out on top? Did it even matter in the long run?

"This is Raptor! Returning to base with damaged Logic." He relayed over the team comms.

Arrish’s brow tightened the moment he saw the flicker of Argent WIng through the Horst’s optics. ”So, that’s how it is, aye?.” He hefted his heavy assault gun and began to fire into Argent Wing’s position. He had been aware that one of Mango’s best tactics would have been to launch a sneak attack on Sleepy’s position, what he wasn’t expecting was to run into the hornet’s nest

Argo and Cockroach had been among the list of potential threats to Sleepy, was Argent Wing on that list too? He cursed himself for putting Horst near the center of it and without knowing Cockroach’s position he wondered if he somehow had placed himself into a death trap.

Still, something bothered him. These were the people he was going to be fighting against, and in an ambush attack they had placed their fastest in the same spot. If they were going for stealth, wouldn’t a two or three pronged attack have been their best bet for going unnoticed? Maybe Team Mango hadn’t been as glued together as thought.

’Or maybe, I’m underestimating them’ Together they had nearly taken down Elora, and he didn’t need a reminder about what happened to Lucius. Argo had slipped away without taking much of a strike, and Ava was basically unscathed. Maybe they didn’t [i] need to take down Sleepy to win. Maybe they just needed to play to their speed, and pull idiots like himself into their own little deathtrap.

Horst landed with and leveled her gun to where Ava had been at. ”So, you’re the one who took down Lucius, Ava? Well, you’re about to find I’m a much better dance partner.”
Zel-Ghin

Darkness. Like at the end and beginning of all things.

The simulation had ended for the younger of the two twins, and the voice of Lorenzo was heard.

Zel-Ghin's eyes were narrowed, his eyebrows furrowed. He wanted to wrap his hands around something and choke the lifeforce out of it. The system was flawed. Either the simulation had calculated wrong or the stargazer system were faulty. He had not even been able to fire a single one of his weapons, there were no heads to bring back as trophies, no chase, no slow dismantling of an enemy, no winning kiss, no gloating. Nothing. Even prior to the simulation, it had all been a colossal waste of time to him.

'Is this the feeling all weaklings feel all the time? This should have been a breeze with my superior genes. Clearly some mechanical malfunction in the simulation. Unless you are at fault Squid. If you are… then I will let you die for this and become scrap metal. Failure is death you know.' He thought to himself before giving off a sound of objection in the form of a huff.

'What could I possibly learn by watching my brother playing with all those NPC's? Old man.' He shook his head and crossed his arms, then after awhile rose from the seat and walked over to a nearby pillar, leaning on it and taking out a lolipop from his leatherjacket, sticking it into his mouth after literally tearing the wrapper off in an exceedingly aggressive manner.

His narrowed eyes moving to the other pilots which had seemingly also been thrown out of the simulation. Serah. The other kittycat. Then his eyes set of Rhylaen. 'The pilot of the framewerk which blinded me? You stole my victory and tried to make a fool out of me. I will get you for this. The greatest humiliation imaginable for attempting to scarring me.' He gritted his teeth under his lips, his purple eyes glaring at her, his hands tightening into fists inside of his pockets. But that meant Serah had taken that one out. At least that deserved a lolipop. Then his gaze landed on Lucius.

'That must be the banana...' He thought and wrinkled his nose in disapproval, then called for Serah after adjusting his pose and demeanor.

"Hey! Catch!" He threw an apple tasting lolipop to her. For a moment he considered throwing one to Lorenzo, imagining the old man breaking a tooth on it sent a momentary tinge of amusement. This wasn't the end of it. They would all come to know Zel-Ghin. The wargod.

Mema-Ka

Meme-Kun

He was already on his way towards team apple's eastern flank at Aurora's direction. Had the Logic Diver gotten too deep into the opposing territory? Soon enough he had heard Elora's mayday call over the comms, followed by a more difficult to decipher transmission from her. The Logic diver was heavily damaged, he wasn't certain if he would even make it in time to assist it, but he didn't know until he got there. His framewerk hunched down before pressing it's reverse jointed legs from the ground [Leaper], sending it up into the air, overlooking the area below him and to the east, like a true bird hunting for prey. The raptor dove right down with it's feet first, having spotted one frame moving from their side over towards it. He recognized it as the Horst, then there were another close. He identified it as the Argo.

"Obscure. Fruitpunch!" He quickly relayed over the comms, not knowing the Rex Artus having already engaged and chosen a side. There were a lot of things going on now, he had to prioritize. His drone lasers which were attached to his framewerk set aim at the Argo and then tried to shoot at it, Mema-Ka then had the Raptor point it's [Marker Light] in the same direction [Free Reaction Shot]. It's extra pair of arms stretching out from the orb-like backpack pieces. As the Argo made it's approach the Raptor would attempt to use it's [Rocket Anchors] located on it's waist to try distract the Argo from properly hitting Logic up close, it even tried to use it's [Leaper] to do a risky extended kick to the approaching speedy framewerk, providing there is opportunity to do these things.

"Logic! I will relocate you to our backline! Horst! Please provide covering fire!" Mema-Ka relayed over towards Horst, not sure if his messages would get through to either of them or the Rex Artus. If the Horst would be able to provide him with cover, he could likely carry the heavily damaged Logic Diver back to their backline. But first they had to fight off the ones in front of them.

He could also see the Argent Wings further back, and behind it were a pink framewerk. Another unknown? He didn't recall one like that on the opposing team. Having the Horst nearby was reassuring, but would the defenses on their western and frontline be enough to hold back the others in the Mango team? He had taken some shots at his younger brother moments earlier, but to his genuine surprise his laser drones had managed to hit. What in the world had gone wrong with the Squid? Had the Electric Dragonfly done that?

His brother was not the kind of person who took losses well, as rare as they would happen. For him loss equaled death. Failure was not an option. Having put his brother on the opposing team was dangerous. Who else could reign him in if he lost it? It all spelled extra work for the older twin. He wouldn't even be able to physically hold him back from choking someone out, would he go into that state of mind... again.

There were also the possibility of him going catatonic or apathic to the tasks further ahead. Or casting aside his frame altogether. Momentarily Mema-Ka considered allowing himself to be shot down by his younger twin just to appease the beast that possibly could get loose.

Raptor moving to [S-24]

Griff

It had been difficult to parry the incoming attack, but even more so to resist his urge to chase after Atty after shooting at it. That opposing framewerk were akin to how a flying frisbee were to a dog. And he was a dog who loved to chase frisbees. But he wouldn't get any treat if he chased after it, more like yelling from the others, especially Arrish he suspected. He had done his best to listen to the plan, even if he couldn't remember most parts of it, he recalled it wasn't as bad a plan as he had expected. He wanted to give his new team the benefit of the doubt. He knew he had to try hold himself back and stick somewhat close to Sleeping Thunder. That big bulky but slow as hell frame. He had respect for it, that one was packing some heavy gear. Like a bodybuilder with a really big backpack… with weapons and alot of legs. For having so many legs, that framewerk had clearly skipped leg day.

Atty had performed really well in attacking, blocking and evading his attacks. He didn't know 'that kid' was that skilled at piloting. She didn't seem that muscular or old like himself… he was twentyfive… and she was probably like 10 years younger. Then again he wasn't great with numbers or kids. Knowing how to make the right protein drink however... Still he was fond of the Atty framewerk, it was a speedy and aggressive little bee. A frisbee!

"Not bad! But the Griffman is a blackbelt at kicking names and taking ass! No wait!" He said aloud in his framewerk followed by a wide grin.

Then he had heard another buzzing noise in his ear, it was Arrish. His whole body recoiled at the voice as he had been using a megaphone.

"Hey! Who are you calling Goldilocks?! I know the plan! I am all about the plan! Kick some ass, stick around Sleepy, try not to get ass kicked!" Griff yelled back into the team comms to Arrish, after hearing his message.

'Where is Argent Wing and Argo?' He blinked momentarily. Well they were not over where he had been at, and the western flank looked all clear. That shameful sparkles fellow were probably hiding out there somewhere, but he would have to deal with that later. Arrish had a point, he had to go and find Minerva and her Argo, or he would never be able to sleep. Just the possibility of Minerva somehow winning AGAIN was too horrible a thought to linger on.

'If they aren't to the west or in the middle of the battlefield near that big duck that means they must be in the east! So I should head east? But won't that leave Sleepy unguarded?' He shook his head, this wasn't the time to think it was to act. He knew Goose and Atty were by the middle, and judging by the light someone else were also nearby. It was in that moment that he heard Elora over the comms with her mayday call.

"Elora?! Hold on! I am coming!" Griff called out loud over the comms. She was in serious trouble, he had to move out, the static message soon followed. A memory made itself known to the blond.

He recalled the last messages of his fallen friends.

"Under fire! Gaa-!"

"Where are they?! I cannot track-"

"GRIFFITH!"

Griff's facial expression changed, his eyes widening, he felt the sweat all over his face and body, his breathing becoming hastily, his arms shaking slightly and his eyes darting from side to side, up and down. "Enlai! Lohann! Everyone! No! NOT AGAIN!" He screamed out to no one, moving out quickly from behind the building with his Shiva, his teeth gritted and his eyes quickly darting around.

'I won't fail again! I definitely save you this time!' His eyes landed on the Electric Dragonfly and seeing the blurry thing coming towards it, it was the Atty but he didn't even register who it were, it was a threat to his ally. Who he at moments past, on several occasions had labeled an untrusty alien. But she were on his team. The two impossibilities becoming one made his entire brain pound. He moved towards [T-15] seeking to make a stand there in that very square. He attempted to get shots off with his [Slag Cannon] and his [Marker Light] if possible before getting there, making a stabbing motion with the [Multiform Rod: Spear] as it moved closer up to place it's bigger frame over the Electric Dragonfly. It's extra pair of arms raising up to try [Parry] the incoming attack shining fingers lit. Sweat trickling down Griff's face, using the shining fingers in a battle were always a strain. He didn't care if he had to give up his extra pair of arms to repel the attacker, he was willing to make that trade. He had to save his friends, his comerades... Elora.

Finally the Shiva raised it's [Carbonox/Trillium blade] in an uppercutting motion, hoping to land a hit and protect itself using the wrist mounted but otherwise mundane shield.

"I WONT LET YOU! RAAAAGHHH!"

[No Supporter Reaction taken]

Zel-Ghin

"Eyy! Tch!" Zel-Ghin gritted his teeth as he looked away to avoid the blinding light provided by Electric Dragonfly, then two large impacts hit his frame in short succession. The horst had taken the opportunity to fire upon him while he was blinded by whatever was to his right. Then a second impact had come from a dark framewerk which had been hidden. Both shots passed through the Stargazer system and damaged his framewerk, then to add insult to injury, a set of smaller laserbeams hit him aswell from none other than his brother whose white framewerk were standing behind a building. Four of them at the same time? It irritated him. That blinding light had interfered with his ability to defend himself with the Stargazer system. Someone would have to pay dearly for this later, but for now the most logical choice was to fall back. As far as he saw it, the framewerk had failed him.

'Perhaps I should let you die for this failure on your end?' He thought as he withdrew the Squid, but the building he had planned to use for cover had been destroyed by the absolute unit that was the Goose. His mobility was reduced, the stargazer system felt off, weaponry had been damaged. There were only one logical choice now, to get behind the wall that the Goose were offering and deploy the repair drones, he didn't bother deactivating the stargazer system, all he needed was to repair his framewerk and restore some of it's mobility then he could move out and fire his particle cannon [Charging for turn 3], sending someone possibly to kingdom come. But he also spotted how the Atty had moved up to intercept whomever were hiding behind the small building, the underhanded one who had blinded him. 'Good. Go kill that little rat, kittycat.'

This was meant to be a fun cat and mouse chase, or a farming simulator... this wasn't it. He felt annoyed. So very, very annoyed. In the corner of his eye he could see what he believed were the Logic Diver downed. Perhaps there were some justice left in the world after all?

Move to [P-16] behind Goose's bastion and activate [Repair drones] on Squid while keeping the half-way functioning [Stargazer system] on.

Mema -Ka

"Understood!" He replied swiftly to Aurora, then quickly gave a command himself to Griff in his Shiva.

"Shiva! Relocate to U-11, Do not engage!" Mema-Ka relayed hastily as the Shiva was being fired upon, Mema-Ka then moved his raptor towards position [U-19]   ,  deploying his attack drones and attaching them to his framework like turrets. Soon after he prepared a [Reaction shot] with his [Marker Light] and a [Free Reaction shot] with his [Attack drones] .

Griff

He saw the enemy. Atty. He also saw the Mother Goose. He wanted to attack it, he wanted to chase after Atty and fight. How it had pointed at his metal baby, that was the Shiva. A clear challenge, was it calling him a coward? It annoyed him, but hearing Mema-Ka's voice over the comms and recalling there was a not so sucky plan, he suspected breaking formation would make the others upset. Besides he had to watch over and support his comerades. Even in a virtual fight, he wasn't going to let anyone of them die. He couldn't let himself fail again. So for now he wouldn't charge in. Hopefully he could soon. He wanted to. He needed to find and fight Minerva. He wanted to defeat her. So his desire to yell back at the 'rookie' giving him orders was temporary put on hold.

[Indomitable Will] to resist taunt.

Griff grit his teeth as the plasma wave attack came towards him, the Shiva moved it's secondary set of arms in front of itself, forming an 'X' before attempting to [Parry] the plasma wave using his [Shining Fingers] . His [Slag cannon] and his [Marker Light] would try to get shots off right after, would they have line of sight. Regardless the Shiva moved backwards afterwards and then going fully towards it's left, moving into position [U-11] , right past the smaller Dragonfly.

Griff gave the smaller frame a scoff from inside his red four-armed machine.

Once in position Griff took a moment to peek around the corner of the building, readying his [Slag cannon ] with a [Free reaction shot]

Just then he noticed the little message on his display from the team banana pilot.

'I knew it! It's a damn bot! It even know how to make stupid smileys. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on you again and if you fool me a third time I will kick your ass!' He nodded to himself, it must have been a plot by that old geezer Lorenzo. What a sneaky old guy. Where were his warrior pride?

Griff didn't understand it.

Zel-Ghin

"Hah?" He said aloud to himself, tilting his head on hearing Ava's voice. He didn't reply back over the comms.

There was nothing that he felt he could add, he was going to spearhead into team Apple's zone, that would likely give the rest of his team enough time to relocate and do whatever they were doing. He had played enough games to know a single cavalry unit could wreak havoc and force the defenders to make in the moment decisions. No doubt would he be able to attract the attention of a couple of them.

He activated his [Stargazer system] in redirection mode, and moved out from cover, spotting Horst after a little bit and he activated his comms.

"Enemy sighted... Exterminating Horst at-" There were static over the comms. The teal haired young man gave out a low 'Tch.'. Then moved further ahead towards position [Q-17] . Still charging his [Particle cannon]  (Turn 2 charge).

'Oh well. I wouldn't want them to take my prey anyways... time to hunt you... Horstie~ An apple to slay keeps the reaper coming your way!' The younger twin's smile widened, his eyes shimmering with anticipation. Hunting down pilots of the Galactic Federation. Just like the old simulations. But this felt more real and thrilling. His genes were screaming at him to hunt, to fight and destroy. He could feel it in his very core. He however didn't bear resentment towards the Galactic Federation, they were after all not the ones which had harmed him and his brother, but they were still humans. Humans which were endless with their desires, their greed and wants. Were he human himself? He didn't even know. Did it matter?

Having been labeled a tool, a monster or a prototype by his creators, and not knowing what manner of sins had been done in his own creation. He simply decided that the best thing to do were to not care about it, he was alive and wanted to enjoy it, no matter what anyone else would say. His brother wasn't the type to focus on the present or short term feelings of joy or enjoyment, he was always gazing ahead or back. Or caught inside some melody.

In the end of it all, he would let his brother figure it all out, no matter what path would be taken, he would follow him. He was just content with being alive. The Cruxi meant nothing to him, politics meant nothing, his needs were more primal. He wanted food, drink, videogames and girls. What his brother wanted however was something that didn't yet exist in this world, something out there, slightly beyond reach.

He wanted to help his older brother to reach it. He only hoped that his framewerk Squid were up to the task.

This simulation were just another game, he wanted to perform well like anyone else, if he couldn't, had his creators failed in their quest to play god? He felt like he had already won regardless of the result.

"Come out little kittycat~ Kss~kss~kss." He made the kind of beckoning noises one would do to attract actual cats, snickering to himself as he waited to see what the Horst would do, not knowing the Angel Zero were right next to it but hidden.

Mema-Ka

Mema-Ka swiped the imagery of Arrish and Griff from his display, his expressions were not of amusement or annoyance. But there were no time for him to respond to what he regarded as childish games, perhaps if he had been younger he may have found it amusing, then again knowing himself probably not. His brother however were the kind of person to enjoy these kind of jokes.

'Childish games...' He thought and quickly typed back to Lucius.

'Feeling is mutual. We acknowledge your plan of action, Lucius, proceed ahead and locate team Mango. Upon receiving codeword: Fruitpunch, fire at will upon team Mango. The high command is watching. Dedicate yourself to a cause and stick with it. Doubt is the foundation of defeat.'

He sent the message after quickly typing it out then brought up the voice communications for his team, excluding Lucius from it if possible

"The 'Obscure' is to be regarded as a sleeper agent, trigger it by using codename Fruitpunch once the lines collide. If the 'Obscure' remains unwilling to act the part it has offered. Regard it as hostile and shoot it down. Mema-Ka over." He swiftly relayed in a matter of fact to his team, his voice still collected and orderly. Wherever the battle would go, he was prepared to do his outmost to make certain his team would be able to stand up the other force, despite knowing fully well who he was up against.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mema-Ka leapt from the ground with his Raptor framewerk, using it's strong backwards jointed legs to jump forwards moving from position [Z-15] into [T-15], taking slight cover behind the building and looking around the corner. The Raptor proceeds by preparing to use a [Reaction Shot] using it's [Marker Light] rifle would an enemy move into it's line of view.

Griff

'I knew that old geezer was a bad guy after all!' He slammed his fist into the palm of his other hand as if he had just come to a revelation on hearing Aurora's words about Lorenzo. Then he noticed the display. Huh? There was an image of him and Arrish kissing.

"What the fu- When did he?! Wait a second! I never kissed Arrish! Those are not my abs! This is fake!" He slammed his fist into the display, someone was trying to get a rise out of him. But… he just didn't know who? He had a nagging suspicion that it had to be some form of alien psychological warfare. Rhylaen was indeed a very likable suspect. She probably thought he was… hot. Shit.

He knew that someday his flawlessly trained body would be too much for females of any species and it would put a stop to his great days of being a bachelor and martial arts enjoyer. He wasn't opposed to the idea of eventually becoming a family man and settle in some temple and train young promising bodybuilding martial artists with framewerk piloting as a hobby. But fuck. He was too young and lively to settle down. Like his father had always told him when he was young.

'Son. A man doesn't know true happiness until the day he's married. But by then… it's too late.' Griff could hear the words of his father, he didn't really get the entire meaning but he thought it meant the end of the good old day. He had much more muscles to find out he didn't realize he had. His head started to hurt abit the more he thought about it. Sometimes people spent too much time thinking and too little asskicking. He had already forgotten about the image of him and Arrish, but being who he were he was going to ask Arrish the tough question later. If he was in fact just pretending to be into the women, and were in fact in love with him. It did seem to make the most sense to the blond, he had gotten angry at him in the planning room before for reasons he couldn't quite remember. But that did seem like something a tsundere would do.

That was it. Arrish was gay. He was likely jealous of the special training time that Elora had gotten and his own challenges with Minerva. Oh that was right. Minerva had never answered him about his challenge. Maybe she were scared? That had to be it. She probably knew that he was literally Van Dough of framewerks. The old dead geezer was named that right? Now wasn't the time to think.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Griff's ears perked up on hearing Elora thanking him, it made him feel heat on his face. 'It was nothing… stupid!' He mentally grumbled to himself, then they got the go ahead to move.

The Shiva went up next to the Raptor. Argo. Squid and Argent... those were his targets. According to Aurora. But he didn't yet know where they were. So he had to do with what he had.

Shiva now was located at [T-14], and it readied a [Reaction Shot] with his [Slag Cannon] would any framework on team Mango chose to appear before him.

Zel-Ghin

'Hmm? Such confidence. Scary~' He thought and licked his lips on hearing Minerva's rejecting his help. 'But that just makes you all the more interesting~ Heh~' His purple eyes darted to the display having now seen the image Bug had sent. Of Arrish and Griff kissing.

"Ahaha hah hah! Now that's what I am talking about! Too bad those two are not in my sights... hnn hnn..." He giggled and laughed in his framewerk, but his amusement came to a halt as he heard the pilot of the Mother Goose, Stella telling him to get out of the way.

"Haaah? No one likes a pushy push push~ But as you wish! Go ahead cyborg mermaid! Charge ahead! Hah hah!" He replied back to Stella, a grin on his lips. He had no intention to shield her if she wouldn't give him what he believed were due respect. The more he thought about it, if that hulking machine were to be taken out then he would have the entire field as his own playground. If there were a highscore to be gotten it would be his for the taking. He wouldn't want the challenge to be too easy after all, that would take out all his motivation. He wanted to be challenged. Fighting the boss at the highest difficulty. That kind of thing.

While imagining chasing down Elora was high on his priorities, he needed to impress her with his combat prowess if words wouldn't do the trick. Wasn't that how it usually were in nature? The males would fight until only one would remain? That did sound right to him. The survival of the fittest. After all he had been made for that very purpose. As much as he abhored following the vision of his creators, he couldn't deny his own capabilities and knowing where their limits were. Though he had yet to find his equal in battle, he didn't have his hopes up he would. But at least the possibility of it happening was enticing enough. His genes were beckoning him to fight. Zel-Ghin dashed his Squid framewerk forth, charging his [Particle Cannon], dashing from [H-15] to [M-18] and spending his [Bugatti Token] for extra movement. He bit down on his lower lip slightly, the fun was about to begin.
Griff

Griff had gotten quiet when he had heard that Arrish had lost a brother. He regretted some of his previously said words. But it was too late now, they had already left his mouth and now they were all getting soon hooked up with the simulation... gear... stuff.

Griff tossed a look over to Minerva before they were getting into it. "Oi! Minnie! I challenge you! If my team beats yours! You've gotta do something for me! If our team loses! I do something for ya instead! Fat chance of that happening though! How about it? Up to the challenge?!" He placed both his hands close to his mouth and yelled like he had a megaphone. Regardless of answer, he would get on to get hooked up to the simulation machine as quickly as possible. The sooner he got in there the sooner he could kick some ass and restore his warrior spirit.

The blond tilted his head on hearing Lorenzo's voice after awhile of being in the simulation, looking around to see where it came from.

"Hey! Old geezer! My deployment status is... uh... deployed and ready sir! Ready to kick ass! " Griff reported as soon as he could to Lorenzo or whomever was at the end of that channel.

Then Griff flinched on hearing Elora's voice. "Hey Elora! Looking good! This is Griff! I can hear you but not read you! Don't worry! We'll eat some good food after we win allright? Also your workout is paying off! I saw your butt got abit bigger! Less cake means more cake! Strange how that works right? Anyhow! Keep your eyes on the pesky sneaky ones and tell me where they are at! Leave the heavy lifting to me!" Griff said in an excited voice over his communications to Elora. Then he took a moment to sigh to himself, gathering his thoughts and called out on voice to Arrish.

"Oi! Arrish Duval!" He yelled out in a manner to call attention, perhaps abit too loud for communication channels, but where some people were a scalpel, Griff was a sledgehammer. He allowed two seconds to pass before pressing the communication back on. "Sorry. About your brother." The blond said in a defeated sort of voice, or as if he had just said something that took all of his pride to utter. There was no other words he could think of to better say what he needed to have said. He wasn't fond of keeping grudges against teammates, especially not when he had sworn to make sure he would never again lose another one. He was prepped for what was ahead, or so he hoped. He had his targets. That silly squid framewerk, the Argo with Minerva and Sparks with his Guinevere. The latter were someone he could not allow to win under any circumstances. Losing to Minerva again would be awful, but in this field he knew he had most likely more than enough to defeat her.

Then he heard a voice over his comms he didn't recognize. "Huh? What the hell? Whose that? Wait a second. This smells of trap!" He said aloud to himself, then moved over to the comms to his own team. "Oi! Guys! Don't listen to the voice! It's probably a cheap trick made by Sparkles! And if it somehow isn't! We cannot trust some random guy! This is now a battle! If he's a god damn civilian he should get out! We cannot trust this random guy! As simple as that!" Griff yelled over the comms to his team. "Besides old geezer wouldn't keep this a secret from us. Right?" Griff said in abit lowered voice, abit of doubt seeping through.

Mema-Ka

Mema-Ka didn't waste his time he replied to Lorenzo over the communications in an orderly fashion.

"This is Mema-Ka Ezqess Degadraz. R4-PT0 Type R. Raptor. Ready to sortie." Mema-Ka said in a practiced manner, he kept his tone polite and soft, but orderly.

The simulation setting took him a little by surprise. A war torn colony. He instantly thought of home. He had more expected a battle out in space itself, but this was despite the memories springing to his mind, a much more favorable terrain for his machine. He could use every single building as a springboard for his framewerk and utilize it's mobility and close quarter tricks. Nothing did neither prevent him from going airborne, the buildings didn't conceal his framewerk enough to use it as a full cover, but that was fine, he was never meant to be stuck in one place with his transforming framewerk.

He was accutely aware that Sparks on the opposing side had a framewerk which would be very dangerous to their side if it could hijack any of theirs. Specifically his own which could then possibly be made to combine with his brother's framewerk while firing on his own team. All things considered, a loss such as this would be more managable to him than it would to Zel-Ghin. But his own desire to win was based on more than just winning, it was to show that he had the ability to make the right strategic choices and by doing that attain victory over a force which seemingly were stronger in a direct clash.

Like the cruxi. Like the Galactic Federation had been in his simulations as a child at the lab. His brother's plan had been simple enough in comparison, eliminate any opponent, in whichever manner possible until there would be victory. Mema-Ka wasn't the kind of young man who believed a single man on a battlefield would win a war, a single man behind the battlefield however could. Having overlooked the other team's machines, their win condition laid in taking down three units. The squid. His brother's machine were capable of repairing itself and allies and were sturdy enough, but to engage it head on was not a good choice in his opinion, the best way to fight it were... to not fight it. Send in a faster unit to keep it busy chasing. The mother goose were the second problem.

A framewerk whose sole purpose appeared to be as sturdy as possible with great melee capabilities. It was the anvil to a hammer which took on an unusual shape. The Guinevere were that hammer. It could potentially seize control of one of their units if given the chance. It were both a precision weapon and something which could turn the tide. In Mema-Ka's observation, despite all the armored big ones and the quick blitzing units or the stealthing ones. The Guinevere were the head of the snake. Take it out and the other teams abilities to coordinate and gain a major advantage would be lost. He took on the task himself to be on the lookout for him, but not to engage with him if possible.

That Elora somehow would be thinking about his brother instead was non-optimal, he had to speak with her again to make sure she had her focus on the task ahead.

[Silver Tongued Devil]

"Miss Elora, the task before us are an important one, we are counting on you to relay and monitor the other team's positions. I have faith in your abilities, make sure you have faith in them as well. I need you to locate and send the positions of the Guinevere and the CK-R8 as soon as you manage to find them to the rest of the team, it is imperative that we find and send interceptors to take them out when they appear. The frontline will deal with the Mother Goose and the Squid. Keep your chin up, eyes peeled and heart steady and we will come out on top. That'll impress Mr Burnhardt. You like the guy don't you? He seems to believe in you quite a bit. Don't let him and the others down, but more importantly don't let yourself down. This is Mema-Ka, I will provide you with backup." He said in a soft but encouraging tone, trying to steel Elora's focus in the battle ahead.

The forest-green haired young man then set his own eyes straight ahead. He was going to indeed use this battle as a test. A test to see how well his own decisions would compare to the others. If his team could topple his brother's team, then perhaps other forces in the world could also be toppled and the great chessboard they all stood upon would fall down and shatter. He allowed his forest green hair to fall over his eyes, casting shade over the upper part of his face, a slight upturn forming at the corner of his lips.

His gaze moved up abit as he heard the unknown voice over the comms. An unknown element. A twist thrown into their test? He could appreciate some unknown variables at times, but for the most part he was a man of order, strict controlled order. But he knew to not have plans set into stone, be versatile enough to break formation if an opening presented itself and there would be no way to get punished for it.

'Another pilot or an AI? Regardless it would serve us better as an ally than a foe. Even if temporary. If it is a trick of the other side we shall know that soon enough. Spring the trap without stepping into it.' He mused and then called out over the comm to his own team then to the pilot himself.

"Elora. As soon as we receive the signal try to pinpoint this one based on his communication signal. If he ends up being an ally, bystander or adversary regardless. Mark him as 'Obscure'. Thank you. Over." Mema-Ka said softly to his own team.

"This is Mema-Ka, pilot of the Raptor. Identify yourself. We may provide you with with aid if you align yourself with strike force Apple. Make your way to designation U-15 to make your intentions clear, failure to do so we shall regard you as an adversary. Over and out." He said in a firm but polite manner, he wasn't trying to sound intimidating or aggressive, just speaking in a matter of fact manner. He had decided to try deal with this particular task to get some weight of command from Aurora. It was after all best if she kept her mind on taking out the enemy positions as soon as the all clear would be given.

Zel-Ghin

"It's showtime~" Zel-Ghin said in an amused manner over the team voice comms. This was like one of his most favorite things to do, save possibly from his obsession with kissing, videogames and sweets. Zel-Ghin didn't let the fact that his brother were on the other side dissuade him from fighting, he however didn't want to fight his brother unless he had to. He had done enough fighting against his brother that it was beginning to be dull. Even if he had never faced his brother piloting the Raptor before. That frame still had the pilot he knew the best within it. No. He wanted to fight others. Like Elora. Now that was a more appealing target for him, the blond guy also was an appealing target but that guy would likely get the rest of his team, especially Minerva after him. Too many hunters and the prey would stop be appealing to Zel-Ghin. He would leave that one be for the rest of the team to deal with, and if they couldn't then he would deal with that one later.

The electric dragonfly had a cute little alien pilot, he recalled that much. But his machine would likely struggle to catch something like that one. He had played enough games to know where to effectively prioritize, he was a tactician not a strategist however. Act in the moment always, never look back too far or too far ahead. There were always complications and variables, he decided the best way to deal with them were to simply wait for them to appear than concern himself with hundreds of possibilites when only a single outcome would ultimately happen no doubt.

The Horst and the Angel Zero both were appealing targets, he knew nothing about the Angel Zero, so that was like a neatly packaged gacha lockbox to him, one he would like to open. The horst had a male pilot, who by the looks of it were a genuine threat to his other plans of kissing the female pilots, save for Stella of course. The Sleeping Thunder pilot were a cutie and her framewerk was some serious piece of work. But what appeal were there in fighting something which were static? He wanted a chase. Not shooting at deer stuck in a swamp. He decided that his best choice would be going after the Angel Zero and the Horst when given opportunity. Even if fighting the Shiva was appealing just to shut the blond guy's cockiness down.

There could only one be one top dog in the pack, and he was more than willing to teach that cocky blond a lesson about not just who he were, but what he were. The logic diver was however still taking priority if he would see it, perhaps the girl would be impressed enough by his piloting to award him with a kiss at the podium. He allowed himself a smirk as he thought about it. Now that would be better than any stupid material prize.

All things considered, he had to admit that the enemy had some impressive looking framewerks. The Shiva was armed to the teeth, the Logic diver was a threat not just from the team support but because he could struggle to find it with it's stealth capabilities. He knew from games enough, that ganking the mage was a good viable tactic and take out the cleric.

He decided he also had another ample opportunity to get some of what motivated him, thus he used his voice comms to Minerva. "Mm~ You want to take out that Shiva right? I'll do it for you for a kiss from you~ How about it? Small price to pay to grind the blondie into the mud." He said in a sly and teasing manner over the voice comm, he giggled softly as he stop transmitting the message.

A few moments passed and he set the voice comm to the command. "Squid here. Ready to rumble. Will there be a highscore to be gotten?" He asked with abit of a snicker, his attention on the field ahead. All those buildings. Could be worse, could be better. He could likely slam someone into those or cone his way through one of them with enough speed and force, if the enemy were the kind to take cover. He knew how some enemies would hunker down in games and take reaction shots. Those buildings could likely work well to deny the opposing team from doing such too often.

Then finally he heard over the voice comm a voice he had not heard before. There was an unknown enemy on the battlefield? An NPC? A bot? Or another pilot? Interesting. More chaos to thrive in. More fun. He decided not to use voice-over back at the guy. Why in the world he want to let him know he was being heard. No. If that was an enemy he would get him when he wasn't expecting it.

The great hunt was starting soon.
Mema-Ka

He had chosen to remain quiet, watching the hotheaded blond verbally clash with the redhaired one. Sometimes it was best to not intervene and let things play out and get vented fully, or else it would give rise to longer more deep seated irritation between the two parties.

Once again he was reminded of his special connection to his twin brother, whose heart and mind he could understand. But most other people had no such connection, they could not feel the rhythm of each others beating heart, nor their process of thoughts. That is why they were constantly in struggle with oneanother. Humans. Such a violent race. Despite the formation of the Galactic Federation they were still warring amongst themselves, perhaps it wasn't their fault but a flaw in their construction?

He had seen the android, the artificial one. Robot. AI. Machine. Whichever label one would have wanted to put on those, they were unlike humankind if they indeed lacked a human core. Their reasoning logical and merciless, just like a computer. He could admire such purity, were it not for the fact they lacked compassion and an understanding of why humans were the only creature in the world capable of crying. They were also the only ones destroying the world.

How different were the Cruxi to them truly? They likely answered to a leader themselves, bringing ruin and enslavement upon whatever thing coming into their path. Much like humankind. Perhaps it were the reflection in the mirror that had made humankind so disgusted with the aliens. Regardless whereof he was right or wrong about his assessment of the aliens, they were a chaotic element that had to be dealt with. No one could truly control chaos, order however could be made to follow a path. He had chosen a side a long time ago. Short time in the span of humanity. But a few years in his own existance. But he had grown much since, he had seen more of humanity and what it represented. He had seen the good and the bad.

He was convinced there were no such thing as a god or higher power, but there were those who craved that power, who sought to use power akin to it to inflict their marks upon the world. While no doubt the others in the room were busy thinking how to battle the other team in the upcoming mock battle, or the eventual clash with the Cruxi. The older twin had his sights on a different kind of adversary, one which were poisoning everything it came into contact with.

His mind wandered to Lorenzo. That little Lilim of his. That was surely not just an assistant bearing such a small frame. A man such as he, with the particular talents he possessed could have gotten any other frame of his liking. Yet he had chosen one like that? Mema-Ka theorized that the small Lilim was either a remnant, or a reflection of something the old man had lost. A daughter. A grandchild. No doubt.

'Now that would explain his motivation to deal with the Cruxi. A personal quest. Revenge? A retrieval mission? Perhaps that old man could even be the originator of them. ' He thought, raising his hand to his chin as he delved into the possibilites and speculations. Regardless which motivation was driving the old man, it was serving his purposes… to win the game. The galactic federation had pushed humankind into a single force, however… that force still had their hearts closed and refused to understand each other.

"Put your differences aside for now. An angry mind is a reckless mind. That goes for both of you. Miss Elora, whatever matter you have unresolved with my brother, don't let it impact your focus on this training mission. We are counting on you, young lady." Mema-Ka gave a soft bow to Arrish, Griff and Elora, before giving Aurora a salute as she dismissed them. While being dismissed, Mema-Ka went up to one of the water dispensers, taking a paper cup with water to Aurora, holding it out to her. "The wellspring of life. The origin of us all, better not forget to keep your body in good shape as well as your mind, miss Aurora. The tasks before us, do not hesitate to ask for assistance, you are not alone in the tasks ahead." He said softly, a faint smile on his lips, a hand placed on his chest and the other by his waist.

'Zel-Ghin. I am glad you are enjoying this...'
Zel-Ghin

While having gotten sold earlier at Minerva's plan, he had nontheless listened to Ava's plan, which seemed like a solid and good choice too. As far as he was concerned anyhow. He couldn't help but snicker when Ava stated that 'Team Apple has a more troublesome rear'. He held one hand before his mouth to try his best to conceal his amusement. His eyes momentarily taking in the sight of the three women in the room, first Minerva who carried herself in a manner which made her almost seem… divine. He was uncertain how to feel about that. She wasn't his usual type. But the way she carried herself made him willing to cast a few minor preferences aside. While he was looking forwards to have some fun in the upcoming mock battle, he was already thinking of hitting on each of the women. They all had their strong points.

Minerva held some regality, conviction and made him feel conflicted. A curious case. Then there were Ava who seemed like the type who probably needed a kiss more than anyone else on the ship, she also were a pretty one but with a more by the book way of speaking. 'Mmm… little thing could use a kiss or two to get away from the boring everyday military work no doubt.' He softly mused in his head as his eyes wandered over to Serah. That was the cute one. The little pretty on his current team. While his encounter with Elora had not gone exactly as he would have preferred, perhaps things would go alot smoother with that one? She had at least taken the lollipop offered unlike Elora who had forgotten it. That already showed more promise.

What would he do about Elora? She did seem like alot of work. She was pretty and her personality tickled his curiousity, however if she would prove to be too bothersome then no doubt his time would be better spent with others which would accept his gifts offered. His mind then momentarily landed on Stella. He had no interest in Stella however, as that one was a machine. He did enjoy videogames as much as the other guy, but that was not a game he was willing to play. Machines lacked the ability to show emotions in a way that appealed to him. His mind then fell on Aurora, the glasses wearing girl on the other team. She too were a pretty one. He was certainly in luck, but he wasn't certain what to make of that one yet, as he had not had the opportunity to listen or speak with her. Other than just hearing her call for her teammates. A project for later like everything else. He would find the best kisser amongst them. He wasn't interested in seemingly competing with his brother over the lieutenant's attention however and decided to leave that one be.

As Minerva had decided to get behind Ava's plan, Zel-Ghin decided to follow suit. "I also support this plan. Sounds like fun. My brother pilots the Raptor, a transforming framewerk which makes use of high speed, grappling hooks, drones and strong kicks. While he isn't on par with my skills, he's not to be taken lightly." The teal-haired young man smirked and stuck a lollipop into his mouth, putting the wrapper in his pocket, his eyes momentarily wandering to Serah, taking in her face from profile view. 'Such a cute girl. I hope I will be able to kiss her before my time runs out... we are all playing time trials.' He thought and closed his eyes momentarily. There was no use thinking too far ahead, the future could be wiped out in seconds after all, especially now when they were doing what they were made to do. His eyes also landed on Stella and Sparks momentarily before looking straight ahead at nothing.

'He's not human. He might appear to be. But under the skin, flesh and bone. He is a weapon which is meant to be used and then discarded. For the end result we are striving for gentlemen will justify whatever means necessary to bring it about. Crushing the Galactic Federation...' The words of one of those lab coat wearing men's voices echoed in his memory, in his dreams… always there reminding him of what he were. Even if he himself didn't even know all the details himself.
Griff

He had not expected Arrish to seemingly step down without fighting back verbally, to some strange degree he felt a sense of disappointment, lack the young man before him have had his fighting spirit sucked out of him. It made Griff's own fighting spirit falter aswell, there was no bigger turn off for him than a man who couldn't hold his own physically or verbally. Even if he had not wanted to have any fight with Arrish before, he felt compelled to engage in any fight that got into his orbit. Unless said fight would put him in the brig for a week or it involved losing his pride as a warrior, a man and as an enjoyer of bodybuilding.

He already did regret some of the things he had said to Arrish, it left a bitter taste in his mouth, and it was definitely not a bro-move to call out how much his family sucked at some… disaster? Griff couldn't even remember what his family did to get labeled the "Duvalian Folly", but he had been far too hotheaded to spring back into action, and much like using his framewerk, fire all his weapons simultaneously at whomever ended up against him. Arrish wasn't a bad guy, Griff knew the redhaired noble wasn't really a bad guy... like Sparks. He had been a bit rash with his words. But Arrish had challenged his warrior soul in front of the entire room which had thankfully not Minerva in it. He would have felt so annoyed seeing her stupid but pretty smile.

And now he wasn't even sure what game Arrish was playing. Arrish had seemingly decided to bring up his dead friends, of all things he could bring up he had chosen that subject.

'What the heck are you going for now? Do you want an early grave so badly?!' He mentally lashed out, then shook his head to himself. What if he was genuinely curious? Well there was surely no harm in telling him. If he would try make fun of his dead buddies then he would punch him.

"What's it to you, huh? Their names were Lohann Wayson, Aria Louss, Enlai Ryan and Charmine Le Greif. Three of them died in that stupid battle on that backwater planet and my best buddy is MIA. All because some smartypants guy couldn't be versatile and get out of formation to help his comerades." Griff said with gritted teeth his hands tightened into fists, shaking as they were. Then his attention moved to Aurora which he actually took the time to listen to, although with a scornful pout on his face and crossed arms.

His temper gradually began to cool down as he listened, her plan involved him being able to go freely after Minnie and that stupid squid. Oh and Ava. The girl who was surely hiding her abs under that suit of hers. Her being formerly higher rank than most of them. It was almost his full list of prefered opponents, save for Sparks. The one man he couldn't allow to under any circumstances to win a mock battle, no no. Even letting Minerva win would be less painful to face. That guy was his nemesis. Liking computers? Check. Stealthing cowardly framewerk? Check. Stupid 2d girlfriend without abs in his frame? Also check. He couldn't have that man win, his smugness would be too much to handle, and Griff knew his fist would slip and then that meant undetermined time in the brig.

"We go with your plan four- Aurora right?, I think it doesn't suck. My talk with ARRISH DUVAL who has a great resume is over. Let's go with your plan okay? I think it may work..." He gave off a softer scoff, his nose rising high almost to the ceiling as he looked away from the redhaired noble.
