The only question, which also seems to have been raised previously in this thread, is why did he suddenly become a Dark Knight? Simon is accepted with no problems.

Because Vincanity told me that's what Grandmasters can do? He said they could adapt themselves to another class to fill a role, and I chose Dark Knight because... it seemed like the most versatile class I could go for outside of Magic Flier.

So wait, are Grandmasters not allowed to shift into another class now?
In my own defense, Kristoph is only brilliant as a strategist. As far as combat goes, it's obviously based on the Tactician/Grandmaster build, which stresses versatility. Basically a literal use of the phrase "Jack of all trades, master of none".
Well, at least I had an even gender distribution with the Thane family. Okay, fine, the two females died, but dammit it's the thought that counts! ...Right?

EDIT: Also, how does one go about specifying that the Tactician became a Grandmaster and then switched to something else in the profile?
So... you're waiting for each other? Well, OK, I count as well, but I wanted everyone's reaction before I actually moved the plot forward and... well that means Ren.
Well, that makes sense in a meta-game aspect, but what about RP? I pretty thoroughly established Kristoph as a brilliant strategist. But it sounds like he suddenly loses his ability to act in that role as soon as he becomes a Dark Knight, which wouldn't make any sense from a logic standpoint.
Okay, but the Tactician aspect has to be retained somehow I imagine, yes? In such a case, then I would kind of like Kristoph to have wandered into the Dark Knight class. I mean, a Mounted Unit capable of attacking both physically AND magically? Yes please!
Okay but... they must retain some of their Tactician swag in the transition, right?
Right now I'm presuming it means "gain another weapon or tome of your choice" or something to that effect, in which case I would almost certainly give Kristoph either a Bow or make him Mounted. *shrugs* Of course I could be dead wrong so... yeah.
I'm still confused about Grandmasters. What does "Learn another class" mean?

I have a feeling Barst might have at least crossed paths with Kristoph. At the VERY least, he'd know of him, and the brutal loss of his wife and daughter's squadron. *Plotting begins*

Oh I have no doubt about that. The Thane family are meant to be central figures in Caldegia's defense during the invasion. Kristoph in particular would have been one of the Commanders.
