@ShadowVentus I dunno. I won't ask you to change the whole character since that's not really fair. Beyond that... I'm stumped.
He dreamed of rain. Lots of it. In fact in his dream it was practically storming. The field seemed only lit by flashes of lightning. A combination of thunder and gunfire roared all around. Then there was Seth - or at least, a young boy that looked like him - standing in an ankle-deep puddle of water wearing a blue hoodie and black shorts, armed with nothing but a shoddily-made 10mm Submachine gun that was too soaked to fire anymore. Not that that would have mattered, the gun hadn't spent a single bullet of a single magazine yet. The boy shivered, cold in the rain. Or was he perhaps scared? There were several corpses on the ground around his feet, all shot dead by superior firearms. There was a loud click, followed by a dozen more of them. The boy looked around himself, soldiers in special-forces armor bearing some kind of crucifix insignia all trained their weapons on him. Suddenly it got dark, well, darker than it already was. Even lightning wasn't enough to light the sky. The boy opened his mouth to scream. The soldiers opened fire.

Seth awoke with a jerk. How long had he been asleep? No idea, his face and forehead were drenched in a cold sweat. Seth wiped it all away with his hands. He looked up toward the non-existent sky... and he chuckled.

Yep, still strongly similar. Pretty much what I was afraid of.
@ShadowVentus Doing that kind of takes away from the inevitable plot twist, though. Or maybe my backstory for Seth is the only example of such a backstory? *shrug*
@ShadowVentus The issue I have is that his backstory, which you obviously want to keep close to the chest for understandable reasons, might also - by pure chance - be strongly similar to Seth's. My toes wouldn't just be stepped on, but stomped clear into the ground at that point.
I mean I apologize for snapping like that, but... well, my toes were kinda sorta stepped on.

Wow, and here I had gone so long without making snappy/angry responses like that one. *sigh* Oh well, back to having "0 days without an incident" I guess.
Oh come on! A Nobody with no memories and seeks to regain them? He's literally the exact same character as Seth, beat-for-beat!

Using General Lane is fine. For Atom's adversaries I'd have them stationed somewhere just outside of the city itself.

~KL~

Um... they're not adversaries. They're his support. Lisa reactivated him and gives him maintenance/upgrades when needed. Trent's their liaison to the army, relaying orders from General Lane and generally acting as Mission Control.
@The Kid Lantern For the record, where should Lisa and Trent be stationed at? They're obviously not in the action itself but where do you think their tent/bunker is set up currently?

Edit: Also, would you object if I brought in Samuel Lane as the General that Trent is taking orders from?
@knighthawk Colossus is also a big softie with a heart of gold. Atom's a robot, so I doubt that logic will apply to him. At least for now anyway.
@The Kid Lantern Downside of using a heavy hitter... I have no idea what to do without him coming off as overpowered. Huh.
