Heartless aren't exactly known for capturing people unless someone else is controlling them. No one's really controlling these Heartless, so you'd be hard pressed to find a reason why they'd capture someone and not just immediately take their heart. But I'm guessing you need a reason for him not to be around as a motivation for Serene, so just go ahead and have it happen anyway and I'll work out who was responsible later on.
Just the same attack strategies it uses in the games.

EDIT

Spinning Claw: The Guard Armor's gauntlets spin around trying to hit players.
Stomp: The Hammerlegs stomp around to hit players.
Tornado: The Armored Torso spins around at high speed.
Smash: The Guard Armor jumps into the air and body slams players.
Posted, and we now have a boss to fight. The Guard Armor. Have fun with that. :P
Heaving with heavy breaths, Jared had fought his way into the merchant district. Just a bit further and he would have made it to the space ports, where the WDS control center was located. When he got there, he looked around frantically, seeing some people trying to fight and others who were barricading themselves indoors. He swung his harpoon wildly, trying desperately to keep the critters at bay, lest he be added to the list of victims. When one of them managed to lung at him, he flinched defensively, only for the Shadow to be impaled by a spear that wasn't his own. He opened his eyes and, with a relief, gazed in amazement at the old man who had rescued him, "Dion!" cried Thatch, recognizing the man as his adopted guardian, "How is this happening?"

"The WDS..." grunted Dion in a gruff voice as he knocked away Heartless after Heartless with his weapon. Obviously, he was a stronger fighter than Jared, "...the explosion knocked out the system." When there were finally no more Heartless attacking them at the moment, both stopped to finish the brief conversation, "I'm going to the control center to help them get it back up. I need you to stay in the districts and help get people to safety."

"But-" Jared started to protest, but the older man had already run off to where the WDS was located. And it was pretty bad timing too, as a larger pool of Darkness started festering at Jared's feet. He jumped back, watching in terror as several giant pieces of armor floated up from the Darkness and then came together to form a large, armored Heartless. The creatures body was made of six individual pieces that seemed capable of moving independently: a head, torso, arms, and feet. The Heartless spun it's sharp-fingered arms as it prepared to strike. A Heartless of this size was impossible to miss, as anyone within the district and neighboring district would no-doubt either see it or hear it stomping about.

Cue Boss Music
Right, while I await you guys' input, here's a little formula I decided to implement in terms of abilities and how you will go about learning them:

Abilities fall into one of two categories: Minor and Major. An ability's overall power and ease of use determines the category it falls under. Here's some quick examples.

  1. Minor Abilities: These abilities are ones that are generally common among many characters and are usually learned via level up in the games. Certain attacks like Strike Raid and Goofy Tornado are considered Minor Abilities. Certain Support abilities, such as MP Haste, are also considered Minor. In our game, these will generally be learned after fighting minor boss battles that will typically come in the middle of a World's storyline.

  2. Major Abilities: These are more powerful Abilities that cannot be learned via level up, and instead are typically learned at certain plot points or as rewards for side quests. New spells or upgrading old ones are considered Major Abilities, as are Summons, Limit Breaks, and (for the purposes of the RP) Shotlocks. For the RP, Major Abilities are only learned after defeating the World Boss, the boss battle that represents the climax and ending of a World's storyline.

Credit for this system should go to Renose as well as myself, as it was one of his old RP's that inspired the above formula.
Right, so to the others who have yet to check in I've sent PMs.

Here's my question. Should we give them some time to respond or shall I advance the plot now?
Okay that was not my intention in the slightest. Although I am now wondering how he managed to get food and water while trapped on the other side but that's beside the point. If you wish to leave, I won't stop you.

Alright, so I need a quick head count. Who's actually still here?
What this boils down to is that I believed his character worked in theory. In practice, though, not so much I'm afraid. If this were any other KH game I'd be perfectly fine with it, but people just randomly appearing out of dark windows, well, I don't want to spoil any plot things, but the party definitely does NOT want to be attracting that kind of attention to themselves. Just saying. And yes, my judgement about the Large Body still stands. They are slightly higher level and should not be so easily killed by one person at this stage of the game.
I was afraid of that. His character is... complicated. Plus there's no way anyone is strong enough to take out a Large Body so single-handedly this early on either.

...Er, okay. If there's a joke I'm afraid it's lost on me.

Anyway, I'll give Reap a chance to post something before I continue the IC.
