The Alkins family said their good byes to the parents and youngest sisters before all boarding the train. The eldest of the family Zander Alkins, the only member of the Ravenclaw house unless his sister who just received her letter joined as well.

“I’m so nervous…” The little brunette haired girl said sitting next to her big brother.

“You’ll be fine.” The twin girls sitting across them said in unison.

“Yeah, what they said.” Zander replied with a cheeky smile giving a big squeeze to his little sister. “You’ll get sorted into a house, make new friends and start a new adventure; all in an evening. Hogwarts is awesome and maybe, if you play your cards right, you could get on the Quidditch team.”

“REALLY?!” Ester’s eyes sparkled up at her brother who shot her a bright smile and reassured her it was possible. Qudditch was the family sport, they all loved it and the chance to play at it in Hogwarts was something a few of them dreamed about doing. Except the current attending twins, they’d rather watch then play but boy did they ever cheer at the excitement and rush. Quidditch, the wizarding world’s past time and Zander had a goal to become the best Chaser ever!

The arrival to Hogwarts was a normal routine for the elder Alkins siblings, “Bye Emma, Anna, be good.” He said to his sisters who rolled their eyes in unison and hurried off to the Hufflepuff table. The brown haired boy ran a large hand through his messy hair and shook his head, maybe he was being overprotective to his little sisters but at the same time… he couldn’t help but worry. And it was when he worried that they all got annoyed. His name being called broke his deep blue gaze from his sisters to the Ravenclaw table where the Quidditch players sat. Taking a seat next to the captain of the Ravenclaw team, the group began to chat among themselves about the summer and laughing before the initial ceremony began.

Everyone was on the edge of their seats as names were being called and Zander held his breath as his little sister to the seat. The old hat pondered and pondered before shouting Gryffindor much to the stunned expression of all the Alkins family members. After dinner was over the three eldest found their sister who was… excited beyond all measure. “I’M THE FIRST GRYFFINDOR!” She screamed spring-boarding herself into her bear of a brother.

A relieved laugh left the family as they weren’t sure how she would take the situation and the relief was obvious as the three exchanged looks. “I’m happy for your Es.” Zander said as he sat down his little sister and squatted down to her level. “Now you be good, make friends and be proud!” With that Ester dashed off to join the first years of the Gryffindor house for the tour.

Sighing hard the young man finished chatting with his sisters before heading to the Ravenclaw common room. The entrance to the common room is located on the west side of Hogwarts at the top of a spiral staircase, presumably located on the fifth floor, and is a door without a doorknob or keyhole, but a bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle. In order to enter the room, a person must answer a riddle asked by the eagle knocker; if they answer incorrectly, they must wait for someone else who gets it right. The Ravenclaw common room is one of the airiest rooms at Hogwarts. It is a wide, circular room with arched windows hung with blue and bronze silks and a midnight blue carpet covered in stars, which is reflected onto the domed ceiling. During the day, Ravenclaw students have an excellent view of the school grounds, including the lake, Forbidden Forest, Quidditch pitch, Herbology gardens and the surrounding mountains. The room is furnished with tables, chairs, and bookcases; and by the door leading up to the dormitories stands a tall statue of Rowena Ravenclaw made of white marble. According to Prefect Robert Hilliard, the sound of wind whistling around the windows of the tower is relaxing while going to sleep.

Leaning up against the frame of one of the windows, Zander let out a sigh as he looked at the Quidditch pitch. It had been a while since he played and he was looking for to it. It and his studies for he did like school but… Quidditch was his favorite thing.

The sudden arrival of a newcomer turned the teams attention to her but that wasn’t what surprised Airi, what surprised her was the call of the blonde haired boy! Her head jerked back in surprise and her cheeks flushed an uncomfortable red of embarrassment as her gaze moved instinctively to her friend. The surprise reflected in both of their faces but was short lived and replaced by laughter as the pink haired girl raised a fist and planted it against the blonde haired boy’s head who seemed to crumble to the ground at the weight of the hit.

“It’s a pleasure to meet all of you.” She stated with a bright and cheery smile as she arrived to them carrying the basket.

The banter between her friend and the students made her give a genuine smile. He seemed almost at ease with the students and as someone who gets handed S rank missions, it’s wonderful to see him in such a calm manner; he deserved it.

At Naruto’s complaining she chuckled. “I’m told Naruto, that you are a lot like me when I was younger. So that must mean you’re funny, talented, and a charmer.” To that the blonde seemed to blush as he turned away from her.

The next to speak up was Sakura. “Excuse me Airi-Sempai, may I ask what’s in the basket?”

“Oh.” Airi said, her attention to the basket as she opened the flap and tilted the basket to show the eager people the contents inside. “Freshly made Karepan; it’s a roll that’s coated in breadcrumbs and deep-fried, filled with a center of smooth sweeter curry.”

“They look like the ones sold at Delicious Delights.” Sakura said following her nose like everyone else.

“That’s because they are; I own Delicious Delights.” Airi’s answer was a simple statement that left the three children in shock that their Sensei would know someone who owned the popular bakery.

As they got closer she slammed the lid shut with a force, causing the three students to jump back. “You each get one once you’ve completed the task Kakashi-chan has set you to do.” A nod rose and fell her head as she started towards a small grassy area. Turning she set down the basket and sat beside it, “Oh and Kakashi-chan,” She said reaching into the basket and pulling out a Karepan, “I have one for you as well. But, you get yours when your students are done.” With a slightly twisted smile she took a bit of her Karepan and watched the training session.

    Karepan Image.
Kakashi-sensei pointed at him first and Naruto sprang to his feet with joy, “My name is Naruto Uzumaki! You got that?! I like Ramen and training and I dislike people who give up! And I’m going to be the next Hokage so people will give me the respect I deserve! That’s a promise and I never break a promise! That is my nindō, my ninja way!!” His announcement echoed around the small area as he threw a fist into the air… only to be met with silence.

“Alright, settle down.” Kakashi instructed seeming more exasperated than anything with the high energy the spunky blonde put forward. Soon attention moved to the pink haired girl next to him.

Sakura wasn’t afraid to share her information except she was more less enthusiastic compared to her counterparts then the attention moved to Aya. Naruto’s blue gaze turned up and to his right to look at her. A big grin on his face; he had two girls in his group. Boy was he lucky!!

    Personality
Zander is a fun loving laughing joking soul who plays dumb but is smarter than more people give him credit for. While his grades are on the higher end of things, he does lose track of his homework and has had a few grades slip because of it due to his major focus on Quidditch. Zander is a bit of a lady’s man as he truly enjoys flirting and even taking girls on dates. Mentally and maybe physically sweeping them off their feet before dropping them for another chase; he’s young so why not? This is not something he does on purpose though, in fact he feels bad when it occurs but if you’re not interesting enough to keep his attention he’ll move on; simple as that. This hasn’t caused any bad blood among the students as he’s just a genuinely nice guy but some girls have become more aware of his actions and learned not to read too much into his kindness.

    Background
    Um… to be determined…

Even through his masked face, she would see some of the unstated emotions crossing his face. The thought of Obito and everything he had gone through washed over him and she read it like a book. Her face dropped in response, feeling pain for her friend’s sadness; but as quickly as the situation came, it ended as they both were back to smiles. Especially when he poked her in the nose and called her ‘miss reckless’; her face scrunched up resembling that of a rabbit as her head jerked back. “Reckless, me? Never…” She said dragging out the word and uncrossing her arms to wave a hand in ‘argument’ before straightening her fussed with hair.

“Someone teasing you? You, of all people Kakashi –chan, no way.” She said with a playful eye roll before giving him a small nudge with her hand once again. It was hard to believe they hadn’t seen each other in so long and yet, here they were chatting, laughing, joking and picking on each other like they had done in the past. It was just like old times and they had fallen back into their same routine, something she was happy about! Compared to other people, they were like two peas in a pod and never had a moment where they did not enjoy giving each other a hard time about something.

“I can handle teasing, the question is can you. Much less from your own students who you will see every day.” A giggle left her as she turned and started towards the exit. “Handle it or not you’ll just have to deal with it because I’m coming today.” Looking over her shoulder with a bright smile she added, “I expect to see you in tip-top shape Kakashi-chan, Don’t get lazy on me. Oh and don’t worry, I’ll bring something that will help dodge the teasing and maybe motivate them a bit more.” With that she shot him a wink and left the room.

About an hour later the blonde walked patiently through the forest around the hidden leaf village. “Now… if I was Kakashi, where would I be hiding…” In a small voice, she spoke to herself, tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear as she walked. Stopping in mid-step a thought came to her mind and her head turned. She knew exactly where they were.

Sure enough, the blonde arrived to the training ground of Kakashi’s squad who seemed rather surprise to find a girl in a sundress emerging from beyond the trees carrying a basket that smelled delicious. “Hello.” She said brightly.

They made eye contact and Naruto felt his face flush but he pushed a bright smile in her direction only to be shunned. He groaned internally throwing himself back in his seat with an outward huff. He was never good with girls; maybe it was because he never understood them as they seemed to keep all their emotions inside or let out so many emotions that you were never which one is the real one. Aya seemed like the type to keep everything locked away. If there was one thing Naruto didn’t understand… it was that. Why keep your emotions bottled up?

His mind finished wondering as the sensei entered the room with a line of Chuunin following him in. Naruto perked up in his chair with a serious look on his face. Today was the day! The day he was assigned a sensei and determined whether he passed or failed as an Academy student and became an official Genin. The blonde’s cheeks puffed out as he held his breath listening to the teams being announced off one by one and assigned to their perspective Senseis. It was no surprise that the young man could barely hold still, excited about his chance to take another step forward.

“Naruto Uzumaki.” The announcer called out and the boy jumped to his feet with excitement.

“Sasuke Uchih.” Naruto’s eyes expanded as he turned his head, his attention landed on the Uchih clan’s only living member as he rose to his feet in a nonchalant ‘I don’t care manner’. This ticked Naruto off inside, why didn’t this guy CARE?! This was the NEXT STEP! And an important one at that and this guy looked like he didn’t care at all! Something about that made the young man’s blood boil and he opened his mouth bark at the young man before the announcer called out their third partner.

“Aya Shi,” was the final announcement that moved from the lips of the man at the front of the class and Naruto’s head jerked towards the girl. This was surprising! The three orphaned children together in a group… “And your Sensei will be Kakashi Hatake.” Now that left Naruto stunned. There wasn’t a single person in the Village Hidden in the Leafs who didn’t know who Kakashi Hatake was and… and… he’s walking out of the room already! Scampering quickly, the blonde haired boy hurried to follow his new sensei out of the room hearing his fellow teammates following behind him.

It felt like ages until Rei’s drink arrived. A long sigh left her when the sweet elixir of alcohol ran down her throat after a long drink. Work didn’t sound fun but she needed to rebuild her funds as she could. Now if only she could find a captain. The last guy she worked with was nice… enough, but careless. He didn’t stay put like she told him to and refused to listen to her instructions and nearly got both of them caught. Luckily, Rei was much more experienced in dealing with stupid choices than she’d like to admit and was able to get them out of the situation he got them in (not that he’d ever take responsibility for it). Now he blames her for the damage to her ship and it is all ‘you owe me this’ and ‘you need to pay me for that’; hence her need for a new captain. And the sooner the better before the asshole finds her.

A body sat in the chair next to her, her gaze moved downwards to see that he had the flyer in his hand. Boy that was fast, luck must be on her side. Thinking that thought she gently knocked on the wood on the bar. She wasn’t superstitious but she knew better to press any luck that turned its way to her. “Standard pay is 10,000. You fly, park and wait for me to come back, not even a day, than return me here. Simple as that.” She said with a nod as she brought scotch to her lips and took another drink. This time she hissed a bit at cup as the ice had hit her lips and caused a chill through her body.

Placing the glass down, “5,000 when we get there; the rest when you get me back. It’s a day’s flight to and from. I’m willing to supply food and some utilities. Unless you take the percentage of the cut of the job; that percentage is 25% but the payout might be less than what I can offer for a standard pay which is not my fault.” She turned in the chair to face him, one long jean covered leg crossed over the other as she leaned her side against the bar and propped her chin in her hand as she watched him. “You get one or the other, not both. What’s your answer? If it’s a no to either option please put my flyer back up.” She said giving him a tender smile. Any help was better than the asshole from before and she had no reason to be rude to him.
“I’m glad you like it!” Airi said, her blue eyes twinkling and chest puffed out slightly with pride. Like a typical girl, she liked getting flattered and since she was putting a lot of time and energy into her new craft so getting praised meant a lot. However, she didn’t mention her engagement to Guy… Did Kakashi even know? Has Guy gone around telling people or is it something he had kept under wraps. He came to her parents about 3 months ago and asked for her hand so they haven’t been ‘together’ for very long much less seen each other.

Crossing her arms under her chest she nodded, “I heard you ended up with Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, I’m not all that surprised.” Opening her big blue eyes she looked up at her old friend. “With a pair like that it’s no wonder you’re so soft on them.” Her eyebrow rose in his direction as a smirk moved across her face, “Don’t tell me you’re so soft on them that they’re getting away with things during training.” Tilting her head to one side, she gave him a gentle nudge with her elbow.

There was no denying Kakashi’s kindness. If anyone knew about that it was Airi, she spent a lot of time around him and knew him well. He had helped her through hard times, fought beside her and even carried her injured body back to the Village Hidden in the Leafs a few times when she got to reckless and injured or ran out of chakra. “You should let me come watch someday Kakashi-Chan. I’d like to see what it’s like—what your training style is like.” Not to train students… that wouldn’t be the reason. No, not at all.
