Well folks, finally back from my several month hiatus, how are all of you holding up?

Truer words have never been spoken.

@Rithy Start with the Eisenhorn Trilogy, or go crazy and start with the 31 book and still counting Horus Heresy.

Eisenhorn trilogy is a good one, and totally not biased at all >_>
Stukov did not like how this place felt. It wasn't just his gut instinct this time, which was a blaring alarm for all it was warning him this place was trouble, rather, something about this place just felt wrong, on a base level that he was unaware of before. Damn powers creating more problems, apparently. Good to know this place was another den of evil, in a more insidious and underhanded manner granted, but he had it pegged for it to some degree or another. But as the two women wandered off to dance, the psyker armsman glanced over at Boss as he answered how they were going to proceed with things. Pair off, be inconspicuous, and see about what they could dig up and trade information over dinner with the two women folk. Rather odd that Sis had hauled off Smiles to dance. Granted, she probably was rather irritated with him right now over his reaction to the Cannoness. That would be a point of contention, since his rather limited understanding and dealings with the Adeptus Sororitas had left him with a bad taste in his mouth. For all intents and purposes, as far as Stukov understood, the bunch should not even exist. Violation of some Decree Passive or another if not for some old Saint arguing that they were 'Women' under arms and exempt. Load of bullshit, far as the Armsman was concerned.

Their gender wasn't Stukov's issue with the Sisters of Battle, rather, it was how they acted. Pious zealots that spent more time praying and stomping about being generally irritating and holier than thou then actually being useful. His worst trip with a ship was when transporting a detachment of Sisters to some warfront or another. Guard regiments would typically, when not drilling, at least have auxilaries assigned to help with security and other jobs that made their added burden on ship resources less taxing. Not the Bolter Bitches, though, they just sat around praying, cleaning their gear, and getting pissy if someone so much as anywhere within their sight without their holy, expressed permission. Even if that was some poor sods assigned security route to ensure no stowaways or hidden threats that, unfortunately for the poor junior armsman that Stukov had assigned to the task, took him through the area delegated to the Sisters. No, Stukov had no love for the Sisters in general, nor the Ecclesiarchy. He firmly believed in the Emperor, and that was that. No rituals, no fancy customs or haughty outlook, and he did not need some damn priest or Sister going nuts over him not knowing the third passage to some holy text or another that a local cathedral to the Emperor demanded all faithful to know.

No, Stukov had issue with the Sisters, and now he was in a position he could actually do something about it. And by the Emperor, he would not let them get away with being so damn superior towards other faithful servants of the Emperor. Power armor, flamers, and bolters didn't make them any better at serving the Emperor than a regiment of Armsman boarding chaos vessels to prevent the ground forces from getting bombed into oblivion. But he digressed as he brought his thoughts, running thousands of miles a second, back into focus as Boss asked about the force saber on his hip. "Not really, Smiles was not kind enough to fill me in on technical details. Only that I would get used to it in time. Apparently resonates with my...condition and acts like a power weapon, far as I understand beyond that from general knowledge. I wouldn't sweat the details Boss, I've used everything from a Dark Eldar splinter rifle to Imperial crew served weapons, and various things in between. I can figure out a strange fucking sword if needed." What Stukov did not realize was that he was still talking to Boss through the vox, and not speaking out loud, so while he looked around, his mouth was not moving nor was any words coming out of it.

Looking over the surroundings, Stukov felt a sense of dread boring into him. Something was wrong, paying him too much mind, and he had this feeling things were not going to go according to plan. He didn't know what, how, or why, and even if he had spotted Lucia above in her black armor, he would not have recognized either. A large portion of the last raid was a blur, and cutting through their ranks in his haste to reach the leading heretic meant he would not readily recognize the armor of their kind. But he did subvox, as he was calling voxing others without speaking, again, speaking of his concern. "Boss, I'm not convinced this is going to go well. Too little we know, too much they most likely do. I have a bad feeling about all this."
Well then, Stukov is going to justify this as why he can't go to nice parties. I smell violence in the immediate future.

Hey, don't forget Adrianne :P

So the lady folk are well off enough, dancing and all that then!
@Andromedai And she's the only one it seems.
Damn, that does sound good.
The last thing Stukov had even remotely expected was the sudden leaning that Smiles had taken to, using him to support her movement on the high heels the rest of the way towards the transport. Her commentary on the outfit would have gotten a shrug if he had not shifted to more readily support the psyker's movements in the apparently unfamiliar attire. Seems she was having some trouble too, which was a relief in the sense that he wasn't the only one going to stand out like a sore thumb. Beyond that, as he escorted her to the transport, she did do the 'daring' outfit credit, he had to admit. He found himself saying as much as they neared the transport, movement slowed a bit by Smiles' actions. "Sister picked or no, it does look good on you."

While in the transport, Stukov listened to what Smiles had to say on the force weapon and the fact he was just not attuned to it yet, to grossly simplify what she was saying down to his level. Alright, so wield the thing enough, and he can stop feeling subtly awkward with it. Made enough sense, he supposed, it just added this whole extra layer of psyker power weirdness to it. Resting his hand on the blade, he half closed his eyes and focused on the blade. He didn't know any of the psyker tricks or craziness of attuning weapons or whatever nonsense it was, but he reached out to the blade as felt natural. He had an affinity with weapons, after all, it was only those and his training that kept him from death time and time again. He didn't always have the luxury of being able to take a bunch of time to grow perfectly in tune with a weapon, so he had no intent of doing so now either. It would accept him, by the time it was needed, and there was no alternative.

"Force weapons aren't user specific, got it. So you went and gave me some ancient relic, this is all definitely above my paygrade still. I don't think we have the luxury of a slow learning process, however. So the blade will obey, and that is that." Stukov didn't have time to play silly buggery games of attuning weapons and the like, so he wouldn't play them. By that time, however, they had arrived as Sis turned over her contained invitations and they were admitted, he had to admit one thing. The amount of grandeur and pompous air was almost sickening. Coupled with the feeling of raw excess, he couldn't stand this place already. Solares and friends, eh? Well, he adjusted his collar as they walked into another den of evil, as he already pegged the area to be. Before he could make comments or ask about what the plan was, Sis took the lead in a most unusual sense.

Sis asked Smiles to a dance? Er, had the world gone topsy turvy or was a Sister of Battle asking a Sanctioned Psyker to dance? Stukov shot a glance at the two of them, and decided to try out a new trick the tech priests said he had now. He could send vox messages without verbalizing words, thanks to the bionic replacement of his voice box, and he sent a discreet message to Boss, and Boss alone first."How do we operate here, Boss? Pair off and act inconspicuous or stick together?" He kept a careful eye on his surroundings, ensuring he did nothing to attract attention from the guards as he took in their surroundings carefully. He was also watching Sis and Smiles, since that had been a rather awkward approach on Sis' part, as far as the Armsman was concerned. But, waiting on a response from Boss, he would keep a careful watch while trying to not stand out terribly so.

We'll have to explain the concepts and purposes of 'dating' to them.

Much to the general confusion and lack of understanding on Stukov's part, at least. I won't presume to speak for the others that might very well lack any idea of what dating is as well.
<Snipped quote by Rithy>

We could strut out of the vehicle like we own the place and claim that its a symbol of our strength?
Because we have:
2 military-garbed guys
2 ladies

Double date for military comrades?

Considering how the concept of dating is likely foreign to at least half the group? That would be amusing.
