@thehangedman Elza grinned, as she expected Meruin had stopped her yet again, but Elza of course had been prepared this time. Just before she hit Meruins barrier, she flung the shadow around her in front of herself hurling herself through another portal and coming out from the floor on the level beneath their dorm and the hundreds of fireballs were wasted slamming into the roof unless Meruin knew something Elza didn't. As she came hurtling through the air Elza also mentally grabbed the shadowy floor Meruin was standing on and flipped it upside and pulled it towards her causing the two mages to hurtle towards each other. If Elza wasn't stopped by another of Meruin's tricks she would land on the shadowy platform with her Scythe around Meruin's neck. At least that was the plan

Bristlebane staggered in behind Ventus and Anna, amazed at how they were still able to break into a sprint after an hour of running. He was tempted to say something snarky like Is that all?, but from what he had seen of the Wizard there was probably more and saying that would just make things worse. Fun, Ventus said, Bristlebane shook his head, anyone who thought that doing an exercise that had a chance of death than running for more than an hour on a slope couldn't be normal.

Simbad glanced over at the street and saw the fight wasn't going as well as it was planned. It was supposed to be a quick in and out job without enough time for the guards to arrive. He frowned temporarily split between following Mason and helping Hotarubi but quickly decided to help fight the guards. He leapt off the roof he was on hurling daggers as he fell turning one of the guards into a pincushion and landing next to Hotarubi. He whipped out his sword breaker in one hand and a dagger in the other, "Even you should know this is to many boys to handle by yourself." he said grinning at her.

@TheHangedMan Elza's other arm suffered the curse of the tree this time and she groaned, at least after this spar she would be totally ready for a nap. To her disappointment her shadows were destroyed as well, not only that but Meruin had returned fire with a similar spell. Elza resorted to using her home field advantage and simply dropped through the floor re-appearing from the floor above them and came hurtling downwards downwards spinning in a deadly ball of steel and shadow. She wasn't sure whether this would work or not and it was almost stupidly dangerous but that's what back up plans are for right? --- Sol closed the door and went back to his own room, it seemed the two of them had it well under control. He nodded to Slick as he walked in and lay down and is bed. It had been a long ride here and just wanted to go to sleep to be rested for tomorrow. Hopefully Meruin would remember to wear some clothes this time, he thought smiling as he remembered their second day at the old academy.

Elza cursed silently as her magic was once again caught by Meruin's shields. She was surprised when Meruin suddenly opened one of her eyes revealing a circle in it that was immediately duplicated underneath her. Elza's mind went into overdrive thinking of how to react. Quickly Elza jumped forward and flipped the shadow she had been standing on making the circle upside down facing the floor below them. Elza hurled herself towards Meruin while wrapping shadows around her legs to ensnare her. If her attempt at physical assault was stopped the shadows that were attempting to grab Meruins's legs would suddenly grow spines in an attempt to land a hit on the mage.
