Current Peace is a Lie, there is only Passion. Through Passion, I gain Strength. Through Strength, I gain Power. Through Power, I gain Victory. Through Victory, My Chains are Broken. The Force Shall Free Me.

There was a bit of money trouble back then and the host suddenly deleted the whole database without any warning. While Mahz could've written a new guild based on the same type of forum software as it had had before, he had for a long while needed to ask, upon planning features, "Can this feature work on this framework?" rather than "Can I manage to code this feature?". Too many times, the answer to that question was "no".

Thus, when the guildfall happened and he had to choose between doing the quick and not quite satisfactory solution with restricted options for change and the not-so-quick method that had virtually no limits, he chose the latter.

Does that answer your question, @Phantomlink959?

Nah, @Phantomlink959. It wasn't removed. The whole guild software was rebuilt from scratch following the guildfall. The reason it doesn't exist yet is that the code for it has yet to be written.

We have no doubts that such a system will eventually be added in, though it may take some time, as other features (like full-fledged search and more advanced PM controls) take priority.
maybe such a system could also be visible to others than the GM? That way, a prospective player can quickly look at the list when (s)he's thinking "this looks interesting" and asking himself/herself "Who is in this RP anyways?"

Such a system would need the ability for GMs to remove players too. As sometimes players drop off the guild or get kicked from the RP. neither of which guarantees the quit RP option has been chosen.
you and your reproductive annotations, Dervish. They're not subtle.
Yes. The discussed system is probably what we should've used from the start.

This is far from the first such idea, @Hael.

There's at least one other that went on for several pages without Mahz' approval.
you should go to the IRC, Dervish.

oh and we were supposed to mention something about "Dark Side" and "Having cookies".

Perhaps. We're in part arguing here as the Devils' Advocate.

Nothing will stop people from abusing such a template. What will stop such abuse is the review process before such image is accepted. Seeing how it would not only be impractical to have Mahz decide everything, we imagine such could be done by a select group of players. (no idea what would be the parameters for said group)

But the argument above about it not having been abused on images so far is strong. We're just making sure all possible eventualities of problem are covered.

the pessimist in us says this:
Even if 99.9% of players don't break with what is appropriate, that last 0.1% can still be more than enough to make a mess, say for example if that adSense thing reacts to images too.
we're thinking a bit more on the timeline for possible simplifications to give people an easier time of timestamping...

You around an IRC-capable unit, @Fallenreaper?
