Current I'm tempted to say "I've lost better friends than you" to a lote of people lately. I'm not sure what I ever want to say to the better friends that I've lost, though.

Bio

Twelve years ago, I said something on this website that continues to embarrassing me to this day. I was a stupid kid, like most, but I've never quite gotten the taste out of my mouth. Anyone who knew me at the time can tell you about it.

I love this website. I'm pretty sure my phylactery is stored wherever the webserver is and a significant chunk of me will just disappear when it ceases operation. Until then, it comforts me. I should go to the hardware store and paint my bedroom walls with the same soft, brownish grey that the background color has been for the last twelve years. Some of my friends can't wait for the site to go offline but I don't know of any other places that offer the same sense of community.

I'm an omni-gamer. I like board games, tabletop roleplaying games, admire tabletop war games, suck at riddles, and have an absurd library of video games. Survival horror is basically my favorite genre. Otherwise I'm a fan of esoteric, occult bullshit and punk rock. But disco's cool. Disco is what humanity sounds like when it chooses to be happy. Between you and I, I'd like to hope that the days of my life can sparkle like a disco ball, accreting like sparks from a grinder held up against the unwavering dark of deaths own shadow. Burn baby burn.

You and I, we're gonna die. We should be friends first, though. Write some checks we can't cash and make eachother smile. Make believe for a while.

If I do, Hound. At least take comfort knowing that I've witnessed unspeakable atrocities performed on a franchise I love by someone who seemed to have completely missed the point of the character(s). So I'll be able to relate.
Yeah. I think so.

Robert Smith is one of my all time biggest creative influences and favorite creators of anything. He's my hero.
Ha. Boy, can I relate to that.

I started roleplaying here when I was fourteen years old, even though I signed up when I was thirteen. I did most of my roleplaying on my iPod for several years and it was easily the hobby that defined my upbringing. I both did GMing and regular playing. I was somewhat ambitious but not particularly successful. I guess I just didn't work hard enough. C'est la vie.

Anyhow, my dad was convinced that roleplaying was emotionally unhealthy and would lead to me attempting to act out my roleplays across the city. The older I get, the dumber that sounds in retrospect. He read my emails and implied that I had at some point agreed that I wouldn't do this sort of thing (which very definitely never happened, he had been recovering from years of drug abuse, general neuroticism and pretending to outgrow his own childhood trauma). So I would hide my hobby, getting guilt tripped and dropping in and out.

These days I'm just a regular flake, though. Long live the RolePlayerGuild. Pleased to have you back, @hide on mana. I'm more of a punk than a metalhead, but hey #WeAreTheCounterCulture. I admit, there is some cool musical stuff coming out of Japan. RPGs like Trails to Zero really make me wish I could read Japanese sometimes.

Hey @Dr Sue, pleased to have you amongst us. I'm something of a poet myself. In fact, I've made a post that was structured in couplets within a conventional superhero roleplay here. I like pushing envelopes. I'm kinda weird. Everybody knows it. Always pleased to have other people for an appreciation for words as art.
Yeah, perhaps. Really depends on what you wanna do and how carefully you want to craft it. A lot of it is finding other people that you like, which is just something that happens naturally, I guess. I mess around with the friends I've made on this site more than I actually roleplay. But yeah, there really is a place for anything. Not sure I actually made it any less daunting, but I'd recommend giving this thing here a little looksie and just see if anything catches your eye.

Awesome. We're always pleased to have fresh blood. If you ever need help navigating the vast reaches of Guildspace, we're only a ping away.
Pleased to have you aboard, fellow human. I've been roleplaying on this site since I was fourteen. It's a real good spot for the most part. If you need help finding your way, I'm sure any of us would be willing to help show you around. Happy roleplaying.
@Lord Wraith Besides, whatever he writes, it's gonna be great.
