Classes are murderous, I think literally- figure drawing seems especially keen on killing me.

I'll try to get something IC up later.

Mako raised an eyebrow at Leiko's tirade, sneaking glances at the other person, who Mako considered dubbing "Annoying-San" for how Leiko reacted to him. I wonder who it is he upset so much...? Mako went to say something as Leiko finished her rant, but she had already turned to storm off. Thinking better of interrupting her distress, he turned instead to the apparently-annoying individual.

"Yes, well... that was rather dramatic, wouldn't you say? Fitting, I suppose. Anyway, I'd love to stay and chat, but I have some errands to run, still. It was nice to meet you, Whatever-Your-Name-Is. Perhaps we'll see each other at school sometime." And with that, he turned on his heel and left, leaving the other person behind.

The Velvet Room

Sunday, April 19th

==~==

Well. This is strange. This dream doesn't usually come two nights in a row.

And yet, here he was, standing in the lounge room, feeling very confused regarding the situation. Though, there was one change in the room that added to his confusion:

There were now only four silhouettes milling about. Mako raised an eyebrow at this new development. Has something changed? Is this so-called "destiny" about to begin? What happened to the others? Mako looked around, confirming that the other silhouettes had left, and pondered this strange happenstance. Perhaps this was a clue of some sort? Before he could ponder this development too closely, however, the dream started to fade once again. Mako sighed internally.

Just another mystery to ponder... just my luck.

Warakuma High

Golden Week seemed to be the thought on everyone's mind as class let out for the day. Mako, however, had something else entirely taking up his thoughts.

Matthew Harvester had returned from his excursion to... wherever it was that he had been taken. Which was good news in some ways, honestly, but still something worthy of concern for the high schooler. There had been rather a lot of these disappearances lately, and it was starting to become disconcerting. Who was perpetrating these kidnappings? And what purpose did it serve, when they just kept giving them back? The people he took were unlikely to have any money to pay a ransom. And none of the people appeared hurt or injured upon returning, despite their hospital stays.

Mako shook his head as he stood, getting ready to head to Boxing Club. There was too much else going on in his life for him to bring these kidnappings into it- he just had to go and do what it was he did best:

Pretend nothing was wrong.

Finished half of my next post- I'll do the rest when I get home.

EDIT: Done. Hope you don't mind some of the liberties I've taken.

"Welcome, to the Velvet Room."

Mako opened his eyes groggily, his head suddenly flooding with clarity. This dream again...

Mako stood up a little straighter, glancing around the room he found himself in. He barely glossed over the decor, the double doors, the strange patron who stood before said doors. He knew without looking that his attire had changed to a more formal ensemble. No, what he really cared about was the shadowy patrons that shared the room with him.

The number hadn't changed- twenty figures, counting himself. He knew this fact like he knew the back of his hand, or the pace of his heartbeats. But there was a new trend slowly emerging- a number of the figures were steadily gaining more defined features, going from indistinct shades in a vaguely human shape to sharply-outlined shadows. With a bit more definition, or more time to observe, he might have even been able to identify some of the shadowy patrons. They looked frighteningly familiar if he looked at them in just the right way...

But he knew this dream well- he was here for as long as was needed, and no longer.

"This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter..." The girl went on, as though she hadn't noticed him. Perhaps she was just reading from rote memorization?

"You are here because you possess the ability to carve an interesting future... However, alone you are limited. Do not fret however, as very soon you will be joined by others who share similar fates," she continued, still in the same hypnotic tone.

This was what piqued Mako's curiosity, above anything else in this dream, even the shadows. The ability to carve an interesting future, shared with others... He assumed that these others with "similar fates" were the shadows who joined him in this "Velvet Room," which was why their indistinct appearance- and worse, their growing definition, in some cases- drove him insane. He wanted, needed answers. Who were these others? What fate did they have in common? He glared at the girl at the head of the table, as though to intimidate her into giving up the answers he craved. But, as expected, she did not.

"Though, today will not be that day, my master urges you to wait patiently, until your invitation is complete... Farewell, for now... I look forward to seeing you again."

Mako sighed as his vision faded, a signal that the dream was ending. He had had this dream numberless times since he first moved here to Warakuma. Nine years of a singular question always worrying away at the back of his mind. And still, it seemed there was no answer coming.

One day, I will find out what all this means, he thought, as the dream finally slipped away. He awoke, slowly, as if in rebellion, his disappointment still tainting his thoughts.

One day...

Mako walked through the mall, feeling some of the irritation he'd felt this morning melt away as he walked about in the sunlight. It was a rather lovely day, as though to offset the frustrating occurrence that had... well, occurred this morning. That dream always did manage to put Mako in a piss-poor mood. If there's one thing Mako hated, it was a puzzle he was unable to solve. And this puzzle had been tormenting him for years, now.

If I could just recognize one of the other people, I could ask them about it. Then maybe I could get some answers about what "destiny" it is that we all share. As intrigued as Mako was about something as potentially exciting as "carving an interesting future," the knowledge didn't do him any good if he didn't know anything but vague hints. He sighed again, before straightening his back, a calm smile creeping onto his face.

Ah, well. There's no use worrying about it today- I'll just have to wait a few days until it comes again. Maybe then I'll start to recognize one of the shadow people...

He paused in his thoughts- and his steps- as he recognized a pair of students standing ahead of him a ways off. Drama-tan and Sieg he recognized from the Drama Club. The third member of the party he was somewhat lost on, in terms of identifying him. He tilted his head as Sieg walked off, looking somewhat dejected. Shrugging internally, he walked up to Leiko and her current companion, waving cheerily as he passed into their sphere of awareness.

"Hello, Leiko! And you too, Person-I-Don't-Know! Enjoying yourselves?"

My roommates have been playing League non-stop. And seeing as I have no computer of my own, I have been somewhat scrapped for posting opportunities. That, however, will change when I get home this evening.

Sorry for the delay, post hopefully inbound when I get back home.
I'm back everyone. Sorry for disappearing, I just needed a bit of a vacation for a little while.

I'll try to get a post up soon.
Sneaked a post in just before the time skip. Hooray for me, I guess?

Mako's face was surprisingly stern as he packed his books away, the usual good cheer that was generally so resplendent on him almost completely vanished. It wasn't as though he didn't have cause to be stern, though- for one, his lack of decorum from yesterday was still writhing under his skin like some parasite. He shouldn't have allowed the Yamamoto girl to needle him so. He'd almost rendered all of his hard work for naught, because of one hateful bitch--

Mako closed his eyes, breathing deeply. Now was not the time for name-calling, even in the privacy of his own mind. Especially if he expected to make up for yesterday's slip-up. I am a gentleman. I must present myself as such, no matter the stimulus that tries to get me to act otherwise. He decided that the next time he saw Akari-san, he would apologize profusely for his anger- perhaps throw some comment in about how he'd been having a bad day, or some rot like that. It wasn't too far from the truth.

Because if, again, Mako were being honest with himself, there was another thing lurking about that weighed heavily on him. That weighed heavily on everyone, in fact.

Another kidnapping. Harvester, I think they said his name was. Like the last victim, he didn't know the boy personally. But it still was a troubling development, regardless. Especially with how close together these two incidents had occurred.

Everyone says that we don't know for sure that it's a kidnapping, but what else do you call it? It's not like they're doing it to themselves.

Mako sighed, hitching up his backpack and pasting a semblance of good cheer as he left his room, toward the auditorium where the Drama Club was meeting. He supposed that all he could do was try and keep his mind occupied while the police or whomever sussed out the reasoning behind the latest disappearing act. And what better way to do such than by acting? Acting in a play. Acting like there wasn't anything wrong. Acting like he wasn't bothered by what was happening to this town.

Acting, it seemed, was something Mako Moritomi excelled at.
This sunglasses swagon is ruining me. I previously couldn't use my precious Naoto baby without attempting to shop some shoddy glasses on, and it looks tragically awkward. But if Persona 4's taught me anything...

I need to face out, hold out, and reach out to the truth of my life. I need to be seeking to seize on the whole moment. Yeah.

I feel you, bro. Do you know how long it took me to find an Alucard avi with sunglasses, and that was the proper size to be used as an avi? TOO LONG.
Hey, I made a post. Eight days ago, but still. I'm sorry- RL kinda took priority for me.
