Maybe I'll play Cyberpunk 2077 some more. My brother maxed out my character a year and a half ago. Haven't seen him since. Miss him.

”Mr. Dawson, why don't you have a seat?” He said, gesturing to the brown leather chair he had his hand resting on.

The men behind Adel stepped forward. They each placed a firm hand around his upper arms, half-guiding, half-dragging Adel to the seat. If Adel struggled in any way, their plan would have been quickly subduing him with a blow to the cheek - but besides tensing up, the man didn’t fight.

They shoved Adel into the seat, twisting it so it faced the mirror. Vincent still had that smirk on his face as he picked up a bowl of shaving cream and an applicator brush on the counter.

Slowly, methodically, Vincent applied shaving cream to Adel's face while speaking.

”Now, my men tell me that you and your spies have decided to make it your home in White Pine. Not that I care too much about that.”

He set down the bowl, picking out a barber's blade instead. He opened it, the fresh gleam of a clean, sharp blade within.

“What I really care about, though, is who set you up to do this.”

The blade pressed against Adel's neck as Vincent leaned over, staring at the man through the mirror.

”So, what'll it be, Canary? You gonna sing?”

Nocturnal Memoirs (2024)

"A million times I have done this charade. The moment people figure it out, I get the boot." she thought.

"But don't you want to see the fear in their eyes when they see who you really are...? Don't you want dominion of this place, just like how you were unchallenged in Vaal Kastrix?" said the Voice.

Ciara scoffed, immediately thinking of Gulliver and Valen. "I'd love to wipe the smirk off their faces."

"It starts by building a rumor. A rumor of power. This could be the place to start."

She took a deep breath, narrowing her eyes resolutely at the Undermage. "Head Advisor, with all due respect, you have no right to ask me about my intentions. If you want answers..."

She stood from her seat, rising to her full height.

"You'll have to duel me for them."

Hehe, I know. But yeah, I was thinking after the tea break. Evelyn will still want to see Polaris' assets, even if she's been automatically accepted into the group. XD Glad you enjoyed it~! I'll try not to take so long next time. :P
Hi Wrens, I finally posted!! :3 I'm really happy with how it turned out.
"Come forth and heed my call, nine knives!" Wrensthav said. Evelyn watched with narrowed eyes as nine small blades swirled about their master. It was done almost subconsciously as her other hand reached out for another blade. Purple magic curled around her fingers as a Conjured sword materialized in her empty palm. It mustn't touch the ribbed blade, no. Evelyn smirked contemptuously. His technique almost made her envious. With how Wrensthav absorbed the magic in my other attacks, even just a touch would shatter my Conjuration. He's playing to disadvantages he shouldn't know... Wrenthav was right when he suggested their next exchanges would determine things. She had seen a great display of skill thus far, it wouldn't break her heart if Wrenthav managed to turn the tide on her. He was exactly what she needed for her epic quest; elegant warriors were a rare thing indeed! The asthetics were just as important to an elf, and she did enjoy reveling in superior company. But on every other level he frustrates me. She thought defiantly, refusing to forgive him for being so enigmatic. She twirled her blades loosely in her hands, leaving streaks of glitter in the air. "I do believe you're quite right, Wrensthav. Let's finish this and break for tea." The stone scraped under the ball of her foot as Evelyn sprang forward, snapping her blades against Bergecrest. The knives hovering about the billionblade swordsman attempted to pin a weakpoint in her barrage. Alas, Evelyn's combo-hit managed to swipe her swords in a way that several knives became sandwiched between the two blades as she parried Bergecrest's strikes. Evelyn grinned, ready to knock Wrenthav off his feet with one final hit. Out of her peripherals flashed two unaccounted knives, hooking about her blades in a way that the hilts tore free of her grasp. The force knocked her back; she had just enough time to realize she was falling with no way to catch herself. Two small blades stopped her fall with their hilts, hovering against her shoulder blades. Confusion crossed her delicate features as she hung there, apprasing the seven knives floating in a row inches from her throat. Wrenthav held Bergecrest's point at her head, savoring the final stance of their match. It was a flawless checkmate. "Damn. I'm impressed." Evelyn grinned, unabashed. "I formally welcome you to my fellowship, Wrensthav." Minutes later they paused for a brief tea break. Joining Mattien at the treeline, Evelyn sat the group in a circle as she summoned four chalices and a floating tea kettle. Steam rose from its spout as the kettle poured a dark, glittering liquid into each of the cups. Evelyn reached for one of them, blowing on the tea before raising it to her lips. Mattien stared at Wrenthav over his chalice. His eyes were a mix of awe and aprehension. "Where did you say you're from, traveller?" It was around that time another group made their way up the mountain to the shrine. They paused as they got within eyeshot, a single individual breaking off to apprach them. He was middle-aged, dressed in light armour, two shortswords strapped at his side. "Excuse us, we're looking for the battle mage who issued the 20,000 gold reward." "That would be me," Evelyn stood, gracefully stepping out to meet him. "I issued the poster. But alas, you and your kin are too late. I don't do well in large groups, you see." Upon receiving a dumb stare from the man, Evelyn continued. "Tell the innkeeper to take down the poster. I have all I need." Her pale eyes glanced back. "These three will do perfect."
Awesome post, Ginger!! These next couple scenes are gonna be a treat to write. =w=
Although who do you mean by 'you? Is that me or the king of jabs?
Both of you, haha. It applies to all of us. That is what I mean when you get to write a sequence. See how I combined Phil and Cora's powers to make a stunning lightshow? I'm sure you can think of some interesting combinations too. This is one of the few chances we'll really be able to experiment with using the entire main cast, so have at 'er~! @Yahtzee and @Jabking, which of you is posting next? :)
As the final show drew near, Yahtzee dragged them off with well-placed enthusiasm. "We need costumes and stuff. Come on. The changing rooms aren't far." Cora had a brief word with the circus’ tailor, letting him work on the garments she carried on her arm. He measured her with a bit of string, and returned fifteen minutes later with the outfit. Cora was the last to change out of the Elementals, presenting herself to the group in front a large, curved mirror. She wore a white, lacy blouse under a black, silver-buttoned vest. The sleeves were neatly removed and the half-stockings were changed for black, shiny leggings. Cora tried the high heels offered by the tailor, but shook her head. She opted for black slip-on shoes, finding them less painful. Her chocolate hair was brushed and slicked back, and around her head was a wreath of ice, giving her a more glorified presence. The pièce de résistance of her outfit was a silver masquerade mask rimming Cora’s pale eyes. With the slight addition of anonymity Cora felt stage-worthy. “How do I look?” She gave a cheeky grin, tossing her crowned head back dramatically. It was in fervent discussion the Elementals planned their act. Cora was feeling pretty confident by the time stagehands directed their trio into the main event’s spotlight. The Ringleader finished his brief yet alluring introduction, procuring many cheers from the crowd. “Nobody knows from where they hailed from but we do know this: What you see here may change everything that you believe. Introducing for the first time: The Elementals!" Yahtzee started first, sparking the audience’s interest with a sudden and bright silver flame. Phil sprinted along his steps of light, and Cora was quick to follow. As dry fog rolled in to cover the stage, the spotlight descended on Cora as Ice knitted out from her shoulders. Two gleaming, translucent wings extended upward in a great arc, moving with vibrancy and life. Cora became an angel, taking flight to circle the stage with Phil. Her wings barely moved as she drifted through the air. With a quick nod to Phil they moved to center stage, hovering high in the air. Cora raised her hands dramatically, creating a great, glimmering orb of Ice in front of them. The orb burst, covering the stage and audience in fine snow. It shimmered in the air, never quite falling to the ground. Phil was quick to bend Light through the millions of little reflective bits of snow, illuminating the tent in countless refracted rainbows. The crowed ooed and awed, rather stunned in their seats. Yahtzee shook his fists from the ground, acting offended that Cora and Phil stole the spotlight. This got several laughs from the audience. Yahtzee flourished his hand, drawing a freshly spun Fire sword from an imaginary sheath. Cora landed on the ground to his left, drawing her own sword of Ice. The two element opposites struck out at each other in time with the orchestra music. Each time their swords touched, a great shower of white particles rained off the blades as they hissed and spit. Cora playfully feinted, teasing the Hygron. He jumped and spun, creating a wave of fire Cora then shielded from with a wing. They continued back and forth, lighting up the stage as the snow faded away. The crowd cheered, clearly enjoying the display of otherworldly battling.
Okay, so I have Phil and Cora working together to make a light show, and then Cora and Yahtzee do a little sword skit. @Jabking, I want you to write next, then Yahtzee. You have the ability to combine powers however you like, just run it by us in the OOC first. If anyone wishes for my post to play differently, let me know. @GingerBoi123, I'll contact you soon about Will's entrance. :)
That would totally be a sweet plot twist! I'm currently developing my post -- will keep you updated. ^^;
Hehe, I'll try to have a post for you before this week is over. ^_^"
Sorry, sorry. I`ve responded to those PM`s, and I will have a post for you guys tonight. Because I notice no one`s really taking the initiative with truly making a circus scene, I shall go first. (Don't worry, before I post I'll run my ideas past you, and we'll go from there.) From that point, we`ll all take turns creating a full sequence -- @GingerBoi123 will go last since Will is going to be the destructive final finale, him and I will discuss more on that later. Did we have any ideas, suggestions? I notice Gilfred and Thema have been silent this whole time, shall we make them sacrifices?
@Yahtzee, would you mind moving the group in front of the Main Tent to the Dressing Room. I would like it if you offered new outfits to Phil and yourself. This is also where our characters will kinda plan out their act, and I had a game-plan for that. @Everyone: For the Grande Finale, I had the idea that we, as players, could all take turns puppeting the entire cast of characters on stage for their turn of the act. That way everyone can have a chance of creating a unique sequence of the act without having to wait for another player's response. If there are questions, let me know. But what do we think, mm? We will use the OOC to plan things out before posting IC-wise, because several characters will be involved in one player's post. :)
