Easter is a pagan thing that christians added resurrection to, so you're right. Easter is the rabit and eggs and so forth.
It's more complicated, but the Catholic Church did try to smother tons of pagan holidays with their own.

I just think Resurrection Sunday gives more credit to the real purpose. For me, Easter gives imagery of the bunny and whatnot.
