Harry wildly swung his prybar, hoping to hit one of the yokai. Even though he thought he wouldnโ€™t deal much damage, he could cause some damage. Each time he raised the prybar over his head, his hands shook violently. It seemed the withdrawal was starting to set in. But his aim was true as he swung it down on the caterpillar. The tool was swung into the creature's flesh, helping Pit grab it. โ€œNice one kid.โ€ There wasn't much he could do but watch Pit trash the rude little punk. Cheering him on as he seemed to have gotten the upper hand against it.

Harry looked in disgust as the centipede countered attack with a toxic spit. He was reminded of his many drunken nights and what would happen if he had too many drinks. Although he thought something like that could be helpful in combat. And his โ€œspitโ€ would probably be more toxic than the centipedeโ€™s. He turned his attention to the others who seemed to be gathering around them. Now things were going to get very interesting. The detective turned to face them with a big smile on his face. His hand tightened the grip on his prybar.

โ€œRIP AND TEAR UNTIL IT IS DONE!โ€ His Physical Instrument said. Harry could feel the adrenaline pumping. His heart was racing so quickly that he was afraid it would pop. No matter that Harry was now ready for a fight. Most of them seemed hesitant to fight. But Harry wanted to shed some blood. He stepped forward with a menacing look on his face. A yokai approached him. It was some sort of umbrella with arms, a single leg, a singular eye, and a large maw.

โ€œBring it on.โ€ Harry muttered with a grin on his face. Avoiding the Kasa-obake, who was trying to kick him. Harry took the kick to the stomach, making him reel back and drop his things.โ€œTsk, that's all you got? My grandmother could hit better.โ€ This taunt enraged the Kasa-obake, who was charging towards him. Harry charged as well, not being afraid of the creature. He dodged one of its punches but did not see the other fist coming at him. The punch connected with Harry's jaw and cheek, making him groan in pain. โ€œHeh my turn.โ€ He said with a grin, wiping some blood from the side of his mouth. In retaliation, Harry stomped on its foot as hard as possible and poked its eye with two fingers. Following up on this attack by punching it as hard as he could. Sending the yokai flying backwards and would be out for the count.

Harry raised his arms out, feeling victorious. โ€œYou have the right to remain silent!โ€ Harry blurted out before doing a victory dance.. However, the time for celebration was premature as a Kappa was trying to attack him from behind.

โ€œLook out, behind you.โ€ His Inland Empire said as Harry turned around on the ball of his heel. However, he was not quick enough as the front of his clothes were torn from the surprise attack. Harry retorted by giving the Kappa a swift kick to the stomach before grabbing him and taking him to suplex city. Delivering the devastating move to the creature, which would put it out of the fight.

Harry picked up his things and wiped some sweat from his sleeved jacket. โ€œMan Iโ€™m beat.โ€ He said while breathing heavily. Harry picked up his prybar and plastic bag. He hoped he could buy a backpack of some kind so his hands would be free. And perhaps he could get a good, stiff drink.

His eyes noticed the anthropomorphic alligator approaching them. The first thing he thought was how cool the gatorโ€™s clothes were. โ€œHello. I am Detective Harry Duboi with the RCM. Itโ€™s always nice to meet another detective.โ€ The man smiled, extending his hand for the gator to shake. And after his hand was shaken, Harry rested his arm to the side. Following the others into the city, taking in the pleasures of the sight of the city. Being reminded of Revachol, and like his old city, he would have to be on his toes. There could be other ruffians around wanting to fight the seekers.

While walking with the others, he was stumbling a little, feeling extremely tired from the fight before. โ€œSo, Azuma, do you know if this place has a bar? I got a mighty strong thirst. And is there a general store or something, i need to buy some supplies.โ€ A sudden cold breeze hit his body. The feeling was bone chilling, even though the weather was mild. It was another symptom of alcohol withdrawal. But he was focused on the new person who had come over to introduce themself. This one was a man with long blonde hair tied into a ponytail. He was quite buff, and Harry frowned, jealous of this manโ€™s muscular physique. Harry assumed he was some sort of lone wolf of some kind. And if that were the cause, he would feel some kinship with him.

But he seemed distracted, seeing someone walking towards them. Harry squinted his eyes, feeling like he had seen this person before. Racking his brain, wondering where he had seen this man. And then it hit him. He ran over toward the man, getting a better look at him. The man was a bit shorter than him, with a lanky build, an orange bomber jacket, and oval-shaped glasses. The man was of asian descent and had a cigarette in his mouth. โ€œKIM!!!โ€ Harry yelled, getting the man's attention, who looked up at him confused. The man stood there wondering why an alcoholic hobo was running towards him. And how they knew his name. But he got a better view of Harry's ugly tie around his neck, and something seemed to click in his head.

โ€œHarry?โ€ The spectacled man said, confused, wondering if he had been dreaming ever since he arrived in the city. In the few weeks he had been here, he solved various cases with Azuma. Slowly trying to figure out why he was here and if he was the only one in Revachol alive. Now it seemed to him that his partner had miraculously survived. Kim was shaken seeing Harry but being hugged by the smelly detective. The cigarette fell out of his mouth, and he felt embarrassed, as he was being hugged in public.

โ€œIโ€™m glad you're alive. I thought I lost ya.โ€ Harry said before letting go of Harry. Kim coughed loudly while adjusting his glasses. His face was bright red from embarrassment.

โ€œIt is nice to see you as well, detective. I thought that mercenary had killed me, and this place was some sort of hallucination as I bled out. But I have a feeling that is not the case. So, can you tell me what is going on?โ€ He said before craning his head to the side, noticing his current partner speaking to some new faces.

โ€œMmm, I know a little bit of whatโ€™s happening, but Band can give you the lowdown on whatโ€™s happening.โ€ Harry said and led Kim to the others. โ€œHi, sorry about wandering off, but I just found my partner. This is Kim Kitsuragi, one of the best detectives in the RCM.โ€ Harry said, making a big show of waving his arms and hands near Kim. Who was quite embarrassed by his partnerโ€™s little show.

โ€œIt is very nice to meet you.โ€ Kim said softly while again adjusting his glasses. โ€œBefore I forget, you forgot something, and I wanted to return it to you.โ€ Kim turned to Harry and handed him a dirty looking ledge and a green pen with an ape holding onto the top of it. Harry thanked him before putting the items away. Kim spoke again, addressing Band. โ€œMy partner told me you would be able to give me the "lowdown" on why I am here.โ€

Two Weeks Laterโ€ฆ.

Abby's article included a picture of Eris kissing Kate, which was published. The headline and article were quite scathing. The article hints that Kate is working with or in a relationship with the villain and that Kate didnโ€™t do a very good job helping the injured concert goers.

Of course, she didnโ€™t care much for the article; it was not as crucial as her current objective. However, part of her got some pleasure thinking about how much emotional pain it would cause both of them for humiliating her. Another article was printed about the recent murder of a scientist. This murder was quite brutal. And the writer of the report, Timmy suggests that perhaps there is a serial killer on the loose. This article made Abby quite anxious, and she would need to keep an eye on him.

Elsewhere in Liberty City...

Abby Blavatsky arrived at her apartment, or rather, Erika Muller did. She didn't realize somebody had let themselves in already. Still wearing Megaplex's spiked helmet, Judy Juggernaut was waiting for her.

"You were harder to find than I expected." The nearly seven feet tall powerhouse had stated dramatically. "An acquaintance of mine is putting a team together. It's easier to do with a telepath."

Abby stood in the doorway, looking like a statue. Slowly, she closed the door behind her, taking a few steps forward. She didn't know how this woman found her apartment or that she was a telepath.

The blonde stared at her for a few moments before a smile of sinister glee appeared on her face. "I'm listening."

โ€œThe overseer is aware of your abilities and wants you to turn a few people to our side. Superheroes and government oversight are getting out of control.โ€ Judy Juggernaut explained as she looked around the very odd place of residence. It almost looked as if the person living there didnโ€™t know what everyday life would look like.

โ€œWhat kind of people are you looking to have on your side? And who is this overseer you're referencing? And how did you learn of my identity?โ€ She asked carefully. Her eyes were focused on the other woman. She needed to tread carefully because if she got angry, Abby would become a smear on the floor. She wondered if she was with the government or perhaps a mercenary for hire. Was she being sent to bring Abby back to the lab? But this brickshit house of a woman didnโ€™t look like any of these. So for now, she could be somewhat at ease.

โ€œSome guy found his superhero motherโ€™s gear and thinks heโ€™s a hero now. Before he tries creating a support group or super team, the Overseer wants to take them down. We found you after that scene at the concert in Middle Park. Unlike the Daily Trumpet, we do REAL background checks. The boss even has some info regarding your pastโ€ฆโ€ the helmeted Juggernaut informed the young girl.

โ€œMmm, sounds easy enough. Tell me more about this hero?โ€ Her ears perked up at the mention of her past. What kind of information could they have about her. It was a worrisome thought, and something sheโ€™d like to learn when the time was right. โ€œSince I will join your little group, I would like a costume like yours. I do want to keep my identity a secret.โ€ Her eyes peered over to the mask tThatwas hanging on the wall to her left. It was a mask made from a goat's skull and painted and adorned with occult symbols. Leather straps were on the back to be fastened to the head. The mask she had bought or perhaps found somewhere, because it seemed to call to her. Wanting to be in her possession. The idea of this costume slowly formed in her mind.

A few hours later.

In her new costume, Abby walks towards the prison where they keep a hero captive. Her first assignment in the Dark Alliance was to break this hero so he would join their cause. Abby thought that could be simple enough, considering her abilities. She adjusts the white tie of her matching suit. โ€œEasy enough." She told Judy as they approached the cell where the hero was being held. The hero whose name Abby learned was Kid Cosmo, could see a figure coming into view. The figure wore a white suit and a strange mask with equally strange symbols.

Abby stood in front of the cell, her mask hiding a smile. She now knew what it felt like to be on the other side of a cell door. A few feet away, the hero could hear a voice starting to speak to him.โ€œYou're wondering why you are here? Well, I can help enlighten you on your current situation. Your teammates have abandoned you. They thought you were the weak link in their group. That is why they are not putting any effort into trying to rescue you. However, my employer thinks differently. They believe that you have great potential. And we can help you achieve your full potential.โ€ The voice spoke in a soft and gentle tone. A tone one would hear from a lover. The voice's gender was hard to tell as it fluctuated between male and female. Abby was trying to read his mind to learn more about him. And use that information to help break him.
I'm fine with either boss.
