@Rusalka No one says Tarantino is a hack director unless they don't know what the words hack director mean. The man is eccentric and prefers the older style of filmmaking (guy shot Hateful Eight on 70mm and did it up like a roadshow which isn't a thing anymore because that's not how studios make money) but he's not a hack. It's just that the strength of his movies is in the dialog and sometimes that can make his movies feel really self indulgent. He makes exactly the movie he wants to make. Brett Ratner and McG are hack directors. Tarantino is just a movie nerd that gets to make movies like he loved when he was just an unknown movie nerd.
