'Pizza Man', That one she got simply because like any good pizza delivery person she was always on time when making deliveries. Though she wasn't delivering pizzas. But a call to her was colloquially known as 'calling the pizza place' so the name just stuck. Don't call her that in public. Or around her sister.

If one would could describe Hana that word would be fabulous. There's a running gag in her family that Hana got all the attractive genes in the family, no one really appreciates that particular gag but then, no one really appreciates the oldest sibling that made the gag in the first place. Regardless of one's opinions on her family, Hana knows and acts like she is a looker - and for many people she knows in person she certainly is, thanks to the combination of her ethnicity in the midst of a not so diverse corner of the world, and from the care she puts into making sure she always looks good.

Her hair has to be on point, and it's more difficult than one might realize to make black hair shine, but Hana finds a way even if that means less time in the bathrooms for the family back home. Since wearing designer clothing and dresses at a summer camp is a good way to ruin them and make the summer miserable (something she learned the first year - but how was she supposed to see that big puddle of mud that utterly ruined her favorite summer dress?) so while at camp she makes do with eye catching but functional attire, your skirts that might be a tad too short for the high schools, the shirts that don't have sleeves, the shoes that she so wishes were heels. Functional, but flirtatious all the same. Just because she's around people she might never see again is no reason she shouldn't dress to impress.

Her skin is porcelain and she frequently wears lipstick to draw attention to her face, and considering she stands at just shy of five foor three, often that attention is aimed downwards from those taller than her. She's glad that in recent years she's really started to fill out those curves, which in her eyes only adds to the appeal that should have already been there. Hana does hate the birthmark on her arm, though, it just...it looks weird and she hates when people try and make it sound cute.

-When handling paper of any kind, looseleaf, book pages, money, whathaveyou, she always has to lick her finger before flipping through it.

-She talks through movies and not at the whispered volume either.

-Whenever she laughs she might snort and then blame it on someone else. On that same note, she'll overlaugh when flirting, as she believes that to be more effective than the simple 'laugh and touch a shoulder' angle.

To an outsider looking in, someone like Hana Park seems like the absolute sweetheart. She's got a smile that is damn near infectious, a stride that exudes confidence, and a rapport with pretty much everyone she interacts with. And while that much is true on the surface, there's a little saying about wolves in sheep's clothing. Hana has a way of wrapping people around her finger because she knows what people want, what they need, and how to give it to them. It's a matter of supply and demand, she's the one to look up when it comes to supplies. Her part is played well, but the face she presents to her peers is a mask that is increasingly hard to hide behind.

Hana is a bit conceited, that much is true, but she's able to back up her talk with results. She might tell someone their answer is wrong or their piece of art is shit but when challenged she'll accept and come back swinging. She's not exactly competitive, just one who has a tendency of speaking boldly and refusing to back down whatsoever. She got that from her sister, whom she idolized for much of her youth.

Hana's charms come not from the subtle gestures or the too-perfect pick up lines, but from her way with people. She treats everyone with a varying amount of like, though the more slovenly and lazy sorts she has to really stretch her positivity, and that makes her likable to the right crowd of people. While less outright gossipy as some of her friends and allies, Hana is no less devious and judgy, but hers is far more subtle. Getting to know people in the way that she does leaves her privy to a lot of secrets that are better left in her head or on the backburner for a rainy day.

Because of this, Hana finds it best not to trust anyone other than herself. People are liars. She's one of them. But at least she'll never lie to herself.

Hixson, Tennessee

►Background◄

When down in the small town of Hixson, it's hard not to hear about the Park Family. The patriarch, Lee, is a pillar of the community, having turned a rundown produce farm into something profitable by selling his goods to the various markets and restaurants in town at more cost efficient rates for the small stores. The matriarch, Tiffany, does good work as hair stylist. But it's the Park Children that the community is far less willing to talk about.

There's the oldest, brother Ken, who dropped out of high school and spends his days getting high with his burnout buddies and thinking they're going to become the next big rap sensation. There's the older sister Abby who was expelled from high school for fighting bullies for the bullied thus being a bully herself, though she's since turned herself around by getting her GED and joining the police. There's the youngest, Jeremy, who is only in kindergarten but has a real shot at being the good Park.

But of course, there's Hana. On the surface there's nothing truly outrageous about her, not on the level of her two older siblings anyway. Sure she dresses rather...provocatively but she hasn't done anything that her parents vehemently disapprove of. That they are aware of, anyway.

Hana's childhood was spent idolizing her cool older sister, Abby, up until Abby started coming home bloody and angry after fighting some asshole or another. Abby became less cool to the young Hana and more...crazy; it only takes one instance of your idol coming into your shared bedroom covered in blood for an opinion to change. It was at this time, with Hana in middle school, that she came to the conclusion that people are never quite who you think they are; and that has applied to Hana as well.

Hana's popularity in high school has nothing to do with her looks, though they certainly don't hurt, and everything to do with why they call her Pizza Man. Having a brother that is involved in shady practices and a sister in the police gives Hana access to a variety of...party favors for her classmates. There's always some problem in public high schools, and in the case of Hixson High it was students using and Hana providing. Why? At first it was a way to buy something that her allowance wouldn't cover, but she grew addicted to the popularity and status it came with, and she got to keep the moral highground by never using herself. She could judge others for their vices while staying clean.

The Park Siblings have gone to Camp Liberty for years now, though Ken stopped after one year while Abby was a regular camper. Hana initially had no interest, but came around in her second year if only for the much more positive memories. It's nice for her to escape from the absolute tedium of living in Tennessee and deal with more civilized and cultured people who appreciate her for more than her promptness and forking over a bottle of cough syrup. Her parents always saw the camp as a learning experience, a way for their kids to build character, though considering how they siblings have all turned out so far, perhaps their character has been built incorrectly.

All Hana knows is, at Liberty no one expects anything from her and she can just be her cute, cunning self for a couple of weeks.

Abby Park, sister. Hana idolized her so much that when she was drawing regularly, she had an on going little series with a character based on Abby.

Hana is an artist at heart and would much rather be known for her comic doodles and sketches than her looks or 'pizza deliveries'.

In the middle of typing up my second character when Chrome crashed.

Imagine my surprise when in the middle of typing out the personality section when my words don't come out and everything freezes and suddenly it's my desktop image. Imagine my anger when I realized I wasn't typing it in Google Docs like I always do.

Imagine my face when after Chrome restarted my progress wasn't deleted. Imagine the relief as I could continue where I left off after quickly transferring everything to Docs.

That was a roller coaster of a time

Were anyone from her high school to see her at camp they might have to do a double take because the Nicoletta Soriano of Burbank High looks a bit different from the Nicoletta Soriano of Camp Liberty. Where one was always seen in the most designer outfits pulled from the pages of magazines and vetted by more savvy sorts, one now has a preference for the simple: jeans, shirts with words on them (such a faux pas), Chucks, and bracelets that might come out of a Vans. Nicoletta's outfits are not going for fashion or style as she was when walking the halls with her gaggle of girls opting instead for more 'normal' and fitting attire. She's aping the 'low effort' style if only because she has no discernible eye for fashion or style at all. But then, that's what searching for identity is about, surely?

Nicoletta's hair is medium length and quite shiny for a muddy brown, matching her muddy eyes. At five foot six she's not going to be standing above anyone and her pale skin is not going to have her standing out much as well, which is actually rather nice for a change. Old habits do die hard and while she has brought just a bit too much makeup with her, most days at camp she either foregoes it altogether. Nicoletta has the figure of a perpetually benched athlete, in that while she is trim and 'in shape', lack of any regular routine has left her with...call it 'extra' around the waist and torso.

Nicoletta is rather soft spoken but when her voice IS heard, chances are it comes tinged with a slight accent while blending with her mellow tone.

• She bites her lip when thinking, but in a way that makes her look as if she has to go to the bathroom
• Often interjects sentences with 'um' as you do when you're a teenager with little to actually say
• Frequently slips into Italian when frustrated, annoyed, or just to show off to someone she's trying to impress
• Eats her pasta with a spoon, like a damned lunatic that must be stopped.
• When sitting, she observes great posture and doesn't seem to comprehend people that sit differently, to the point where she'll remark on it

Rejection. While many people fear being rejected by, say, a crush or something, Nicoletta fears being rejected by not just her peers but by her old fashioned, traditionalist family. She wishes she could get rejected by a crush, because at least then she'd have been brave enough to do something other than pine in misery.

Bees. While not a phobia, Nicoletta just absolutely hates bees. It goes without saying that the big baddies, the hornets and wasps of the world, get no love from her either.

Driving. Nicoletta hasn't got her driver's license yet simply because she doesn't like being behind the wheel. The last time she drove, with her permit, she wound up freezing up and hitting a mail box at the post office. It took weeks to buff out the blue residue.

Judgmental. She knows she shouldn't, given her own situation, but she always makes snap judgments about people based on the worst things, such as appearance or style.

In the world there are leaders and there are followers, at least that's what practically every motivational speaker would tell you; but in the case of Nicoletta? It's absolutely true. Much of her life has been spent simply doing what others have told her to do with little regard for her own thoughts on the matter. It was one thing when her papa asked her to help out. It was another when suddenly the girls she hung out with at school were telling her what to do, who to associate with, and what matched with what. Nicoletta has been a follower for as long as she could remember, which is already far too long.

It's rare to see Nicoletta without a smile. However, when Nicoletta smiles it never seems to be out of genuine joy, and she only ever appears to contribute to conversations amongst her supposed peers in the vaguest manner possible. She's one of the popular crowd in school by virtue of the most shallow reasons possible and she knows that but sees no reason why she can't take advantage of that while it lasts. She wants to just be herself, but that's become harder and harder as she isn't quite sure who she is or what she wants...only that she doesn't want to suffer more talk over who's hooking up with who.

To her credit, she has begun taking steps to breaking out of her meek shell, starting by speaking up more and trying to let her voice be heard among a group of people damn near deaf to anything other than their own inflated egos. Nicoletta doesn't want to enter into adulthood having not made a single decision for herself, and with the end of the teenage years looming on the horizon, she hopes that a place free from the expectations of others will lead to some deep soul searching. A lot can change over the summer. Nicoletta is counting on it.

►Background◄

Nicoletta was born in Italy to Marco Soriano and Laura Soriano. Their only child, Nicoletta enjoyed a rather uneventful youth, often being left to her own devices while her parents were busying themselves with their careers: Marco being a chef and Laura a photographer mostly known for travel sites and food blogs. Nicoletta can't recall much of note from her youth in Italy; it was a fairly average and thus un-noteworthy childhood. Things took a turn when Nicoletta's uncle Stefano came to the house with a proposition for Marco.

Stefano had a failing business in America that he was willing to give full ownership over to Marco, knowing that Marco often dreamed of opening his own restaurant. And so at the age of twelve Nicoletta was moved from Italy to America. By the time she was fourteen and entering high school, Soriano's was one of L.A.'s hottest restaurants, noted for its frequent celebrity appearances and the quality of its menu. When Nicoletta entered high school still getting used to the country, she found herself being roped into the popular circle not due to her looks or style (which were un-noteworthy) but because her family name was plastered over magazines and tabloids.

Not knowing any better, or perhaps just glad to be accepted, Nicoletta allowed herself to be swept along with little fuss. She was popular, even if it came with the unfortunate side effect of having to change herself for the approval of others. Sure, it felt nice to be part of something, but it was less nice when she was told that people she wanted to be friends with were actually not someone she wanted to be friends with. The only decisions Nicoletta made for herself were what two electives she took and what she had for lunch. Nicoletta wanted to go out for the tennis team, but was pulled into a trip to the mall when tryouts were taking place, and that was just one of the moments where she had to put her own wants aside for the sake of other people.

Her papa is pushing her to a business degree, wanting her to one day take over ownership of Soriano's while her mother is not so subtly mentioning how some of her new friends have 'boys around your age, Nicoletta'. Neither of those interest her, but all Nicoletta believes she can do is look for colleges with good business programs and smile and nod through awkward set-up dates with people she has no romantic or physical attraction to. Her life has never really been hers, and she hates that. She hates that she hasn't been able to speak up. She hates that she's on a path she was put on. But most of all she hates that she just grins and bears it.

Nicoletta convinced her parents to let her attend Camp Liberty. It was one of the first decisions she made on her own terms, and she hopes it will lead to her being able to finally live life on her own terms.

But first she has to find out what it is she wants.
