Bio
Look, I got lost on the way to getting some jajangmyeon and it'd be foolish to leave now.
But I mean this is a world that has schlubby, stupid guys marrying and hooking up with attractive women way out of their wheelhouse. I guess the trick for unattractive guys is to be real funny.
Not gonna lie. I thought it was Taylor Swift. I mean, isn't that what you used in the first gif for Avery?
I mean I dunno, I got all the gifs from a fan tumblr but then I also learned that Kloss was like one bad experience away from being the subject of Swift's next "I'M BAD AT RELATIONSHIPS" song.
I assumed all the gifs from the Karlie fan blog were of Karlie because I specifically didn't pick the ones that had her in a shot with Swift because that would just be confusing.

| Full Name |
Raini Ren Yilmaz
| Nickname |
"Rainy". It's an intentional mispronunciation of her name, which is 'Rain-eye'. It was originally assumed by Raini to be done simply to annoy her; it was only recently that she realized it was a term of endearment. She would prefer people not using it.
| Birth Date |
November 14.
| Age |
35
| Gender |
Female
| Sexuality |
Pansexual
| Relationship Status |
Recently Single
| Occupation |
Part Time Phlebotomist. Full Time Hunter.
| Role |
Lead Hunter. Failing that? Second in command.
| Coven or Pack? |
Neither
| In Depth Appearance | Raini doesn't stand out much at all and that is clearly by design. Drawing attention to yourself is what inexperienced people do, and that extends to the hunters just as much as it does their prey. Of course, her standing out happens often enough due to her more...exotic features, though with enough diversity comes the ability to blend. Raini's of an average height, standing at just shy of five-nine, with a build that is athletic in tone. Muscles need not be bulging to be present, nor does the lack of them from a glance mean a lack of strength or stamina. Rarely does Raini dabble in cosmetics other than for blemishes or if she's out to impress someone with her awkward feminine wiles.
The exception to that rule is in how she treats her hair, dirty blonde in color and soft to the touch, it's the one aspect of her, other than keeping in shape, that she takes an excessive amount of care in. She won't berate someone for 'messing up' her hair, but she believes she has earned a little bit of vanity in her life every now and then. With how often things get messy...it's mostly something to keep her grounded.
In her day to day, when she isn't wearing the white coat in the doctor's office, skews more casual than anything else. Jeans for walking. Boots for stepping. White shirts for comfort and always a black jacket for completion of the outfit. In warmer weather the jacket will be left at home and she'll favor shorter sleeved shirts but never shorts or skirts. Anything other than pants would show the scars she's accrued over the years; most have healed, but scars linger and questions get asked. She goes for more neutral clothing in her day-to-day. Blues and whites, neutrals, all a part of looking the part. It's a lot harder than she ever thought to intentionally make herself look ordinary.
Harder, still, because of her background - She has the features of her mother, the pronounced cheekbones and almond eyes, and the skin tone of her mixed heritage - she's on a short list of people in Bellingstone that come from similar backgrounds.
She had a tattoo once, on her right arm, but it's been removed, The tattoo was of a rain cloud, an inside joke that stopped being funny.
| Habits | Oddities | Quirks |
When faced with downtime, Raini will observe herself in a compact to ensure that the day's stress hasn't ruined her hair. Which is to say she'll often straighten it out or fix it up as the day goes on. Again, she believes her little trip to vanity avenue is well earned, even if it's something she believes that only younger people should do.
Whenever she uses profanity, which is more often than she'd care to admit, she only does so in Arabic. It's one of the three languages she speaks and it's the only one she can be certain that most people she uses it around won't understand. 'Ya Ibn el Sharmouta' is a particular favorite of hers but they're all so colorful and varied, as language typically is.
Raini intentionally mispronounces people's names (though gets upset when others do it to her). It's a quirk she picked up from someone important to her. However, it's not something she does to everyone at first. People know that they have Raini's respect when she starts saying their name incorrectly. Until then, she'll always be asking for their name or calling them things like 'kid'.
| Hobbies |
Raini has a bit of a soft spot for jazz music and has quite the collection of vinyl and albums. She'll listen to it to unwind or to prepare for a fight/patrol/whatnot. Her regret in life was never learning to play an instrument and jazz is sort of an escape.
Candle Making. Something she learned from her mother as a child, Raini enjoys making candles when she has free time. She sells them through Etsy and at a corner store in Bellingstone that gives her a cut of profits from her sales. Nothing relaxes her more than putting on Dave Brubeck and making an order of candles as the sun goes down. It's zen-like at times.
| Likes |
☑ Though she doesn't make them, she does enjoy candle wax figures, such as people who make cats or people and put a wick in them. There's shelf space in her place that is reserved for ones she liked enough to buy.
☑ Spicy food. She's not yet found a place in town that can really hit that sweet spot of spicy. She'd make her own but cooking is not something she's particularly great at.
☑ Long winters. She grew up in warm weather and had enough of it to fill a lifetime. Winters are welcome and snow still makes her smile when its fresh.
☑ Seafood. Sometimes she wishes she was located on the coast just to get fresher fish on the regular, but she'll take a grilled salmon or some ahi tuna no matter how it comes.
☑ People that listen. She's constantly amazed in her daily life the number of people who can't fill out a simple form in the blood lab. "Please stick out your right hand", a request she makes often, is often followed up with "Your OTHER right" or "Please stick out your right hand". But she might be projecting, since not listening has led some people she knew to their early end.
| Dislikes |
☒ People that DON'T listen, to follow up on a like.
☒ Summer. The warmth and the more relaxed atmosphere doesn't sit well with her. Plus she gets real hot in her jeans which is just uncomfortable.
☒ Coffee. She hates the taste. Really caffeine does nothing for her other than make her want to spit it into the nearest drain.
☒ Rain clouds. More often than not they signal rain or worse.
☒ Games of chance. She doesn't gamble with anything, from money down to her life, preferring to do things that she at least has some modicum of control over.
| Fears |
Raini hates the rain, specifically she hates thunderstorms. Even into her thirties stormy weather makes her have difficulty sleeping or functioning. It's a fear, a phobia if you will.
While she doesn't fear her own death she does fear others she works with dying under her watch or else being converted to the ranks of the ones they hunt. A loss of a hunter under her care is a failure in her command. In that way, perhaps it's better to say that she fears failure.
| Personality Traits |
Patient. Though Raini hates people that don't listen, she puts up with them in the hope that they'll learn sooner or later. On that same token, Raini is someone that will wait and wait until the moment is right before springing into action. Patience is a virtue that gets rewarded. Impatience gets people injured or worse.
Disaffected. While losing someone among her ranks gets her where it counts, after the things she's experienced and done nothing really concerns her anymore. Yes, she obviously doesn't like it when innocents die due to the supernatural, but the news of a death or the sight of blood or bodies doesn't fuel her into action. She's desensitized and cautions others to hold onto their strong feelings on the matter.
Motherly. Raini had a strong bond with her mother for the short time they were a family and she found a father figure in her training days. As such, any hunter that works with her is seen as something close to family, not all that dissimilar to wolves and their pack or vampires and their coven.
Hard. Raini, despite her motherly tendencies, is still a hard person to bond with. But in her mind, she doesn't have to be liked so long as she has respect. The fact that getting her to 'remember' your name is a rite of passage shows how difficult it is to earn her trust and friendship. Ostensibly it's so she can feel less on the off chance that one of them dies, but there's sure to be a deeper reason.
| Personality | To hear Raini describe it, she's a hunter second and a person first, but that doesn't stop elements of who she is in the 'fight' from seeping into her attempts to be a more 'ordinary' citizen. Around children and the like, such as those who come to the lab for shots or blood work, she's always friendly and smiling, like a motherly sort would be, but she rarely, if ever, speaks to adult patients about anything other than the reason for their visit to the lab. Few would describe her as 'friendly' but many would consider her 'nice'. Raini isn't a mean person and doesn't have near the outright hatred towards the hunter's prey as some do.
Once someone has earned her respect she treats them no differently than she expects them to treat her. Everyone, once proven they can hang in the hunters of Bellingstone, is seen as equals. It is, to her, the best way to foster camaraderie and instill the notion that no one is expendable. Raini may take a while to consider someone, but even those whose name she hasn't said are still part of the team. Raini is practical when making decisions and often will opt to take less favorable choices rather than the more immediate 'positive' ones. She won't be the one to rush in and help someone in danger and she'd be willing to let innocents die if it meant it would lead to something more substantial in the long run. Her casual disregard for the lives of innocents - or the seeming disregard - makes some believe her to be emotionless, heartless, cruel.
But she isn't. She just understands that not everyone can be saved. The more moral people around her are people she trusts to keep her in check. Raini doesn't want other hunters to lose their humanity and empathy and encourages them to 'remain as innocent as possible'.
Anyone who knows Raini, be it a fellow hunter or a friend in Bellingstone, knows that she is there in case someone needs an ear to vent their problems. Raini wants very much to be seen as something of a motherly presence among her charges, loving and caring but also willing to lay down the law and take control of a situation. She might be strict, but if it keeps people alive it's worth it in the end.
Just don't ACTUALLY call her mom.
| Place of Origin |
Thimphu, Bhutan
| History | Raini was born in Bhutan to a father of South Asian heritage and a mother from China. Though Bhutan is where she was born it wasn't where she lived; at a young age, before Raini could walk, she and her parents settled in Egypt, in Cairo. Raini bonded with her mother, who she remembered being incredibly affectionate and caring which was in direct contrast to her father, who was aloof and worked abnormal hours which meant Raini rarely got to spend time with him. As Raini grew into a child, she noticed that her father was often talking of relocation, of staying mobile, but her mother wanted a home. A permanent one. Her parents spoke in whispers often.
Raini's mother was also her educator, teaching her both Arabic and Mandarin and how to read the written word. She never felt coddled, but it was obvious that Raini was fond of her mother. When she was thirteen she started to notice more oddities with her father. He always seemed to be on edge, nervous, and would often lash out against his wife. Any attempt to find out what was wrong was met with anger from her father and near sobs from her mother.
At age fourteen, Raini lost both of her parents.
It happened slowly, building up over the course of months. Suddenly Raini had a new family member, an Uncle Jabari that made frequent trips to the family home. Jabari was a man of few words but always came with a gift for Raini, some trinket or bauble, one time a cool pocket knife, but he didn't say a word to the girl otherwise. One week after Raini's fourteenth birthday, their home was broken into at night. Raini hid in a cupboard and watched as a strange man accused her mother of 'betrayal'. The man snapped her father's neck and Raini was forced to watch a different side of her mother.
The mother she loved shrieked and attacked the mysterious man, a fight that stopped after her mother removed the man's head. Of course Raini screamed, what person wouldn't after witnessing such a thing? But before her bloody mother could reveal her true nature to her daughter, Uncle Jabari arrived and drove a sake through the woman's heart. "Your mother was on the run from her coven," Jabari went on to explain as he introduced Raini to the world of vampires and hunters.
Jabari was a hunter named Eric and he was hunting the man that was hunting Raini's mother, arriving too late to save her father. Eric, against his better judgment, took Raini along to be trained as a hunter, which took some convincing on his end as Raini was still in shock over the sudden loss of her mother. Of her parents. Studying under Eric became the replacement of studying languages with her mom. Eric started calling her Rainy as she started taking her training more seriously. When she became a full fledged hunter, Eric was there to welcome her to the fold. She requested to serve with him but he refused, saying that she had to become her own person now. Eric went off to his own posting. News of his death reached her three months after the fact. Werewolf attack.
Raini models a lot of herself after Eric, keeping the little nickname mispronunciation thing alive as sort of a tribute to his memory. As he requested, Raini has become her own hunter, even being assigned to Bellingstone where she's integrated herself into the community as a phlebotomist, working in the bloodwork lab at a doctor's office. The job is one way she monitors the activity of vampires and werewolves alike, and it allows her to keep tabs on the blood supply in case some hungry sorts get a little bold in their quest for human blood.
To the residents of Bellingstone, Raini is the blood doctor who gives the children coming for shots a lollipop if they don't squirm. To others, she's a threat. A hunter through and through.
| Extra | She speaks English, Arabic, and Mandarin. She speaks with a noticeable accent though it's not as heavy these days.
Theme Song the rules didn't mention having to put anything specific here so hello there and thanks for reading my sheet

Personal Information
Name: Avery J. Stratton
Nickname: A.J., if making a name out of initials counts as a nickname. It's perhaps one of the nicer names people give to her all things considered.
Birth Date:
August 20, 1994
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual
In The Mirror
In Depth Appearance: There's a good chance that many people will be looking up at A.J. in both the literal and figurative sense. Such things tend to happen when one is gifted with height. A.J. is a tall woman, standing at a good six foot two, and she wears her height rather well by not being a gangly sort of tall. While not in possession of an overly shapely figure, when she isn't dressing down A.J.'s more physical attributes come into the light, starting with the length of her legs which, depending on who you ask, rank high on her list of physical features. There's little cellulite to be found on her body thanks to what she claims is a good metabolism. Though her legs and the toned nature contained within are certainly points of interest, it is her sharp jawline and cheeks that A.J. is most proud of. Her visage is strong, elegant and angular, that it's such a shame that it's rarely shown to be smiling genuinely.
A.J.'s hair is always medium length and bounces between a sandy color and a more obvious blonde. She doesn't often experiment with new styles, preferring the standard middle part and healthy amount of brushing to maintain its straight nature. Her eyes, less bright and more pronounced, are a muddy brown but that doesn't stop them from being able to carry her glances of interests and incredulity. There aren't any blemishes on her skin, not even so much as a lingering scratch or wound or even tan lines. It's evident that A.J. enjoys making herself look presentable, and often that translates to a healthy amount of eyeshadow/eyeliner and lipstick, but it's never to the point of being caked on. That would just be disastrous.
A.J. goes for more glamour than outright flirty, knowing that one needn't show off to grab attention when needed. But by the same token her devotion to the glamour comes with its own cost.
Clothing Style:
In a word? Variable. More often than not A.J. will be wearing clothing that screams comfort and casual but is more fashion oriented than a simple 'casual' look of jeans or what have you. While jeans are certainly welcome, it's never without matching accessories or a top to match. A.J. stays on top of the trends in the fashion world mainly so she knows when it's time to update her wardrobe, blending the in style trends with more down-to-earth, common person affordable items. She leaps at the chance to go formal since it is an excuse to wear dresses that either show off a bit of leg or else swish and sway with the steps; either way it all feels good to wear. A.J.'s style is a mixture of what's in and what's affordable, though what's affordable to her might not be so for everyone. But that's not exactly her fault, is it.
Delving Deeper
Quirks/Oddities/Habits
A rather light sleeper, A.J. will often sleep with the covers fully over her just to add an additional muffler from potential sounds that will wake her up. People that just stomp their way to the bathroom in the middle of the night earn a permanent spot on her shit list.
An avid eater, at meal times A.J.'s portion sizes are a bit on the larger side though she doesn't seem to notice or care. Some observers note that she eats enough for two or three.
Has a bit of a thing for jewelry, specifically rings. She will often play with her own ring when bored, spinning it around her finger or something to that effect.
She doesn't use contractions in both speech and writing.
Whenever she thinks or has some sort of idea, be it good or bad, A.J. hums. Audibly.
Likes: ☑ Pizza. It doesn't even matter what toppings. Pizza.
☑ Winter weather. It means coats finally get their time to shine.
☑ Fruit juice. Preferably freshly squeezed and not the artificial junk. It's a better alternative to sugar water.
☑ That indescribable moment after a real heavy kiss.
☑ An undisturbed night of sleep.
☑ Animated things. Be it cartoons or movies or even little flip books. It's cute.
Dislikes: ☒ Phonies and Fakers; don't ever lie to her.
☒ Laziness, and that includes people who just toss on 'whatever' when they get dressed.
☒ Clingy sorts that are unable to take 'I'll call you' for an answer.
☒ Slovenly sorts, the types that spill their food or don't clean properly. Those types.
☒ Autumn weather. It doesn't know if it wants to be summer or winter and it's just unbearable either way.
Fears:
Obscurity. For better or worse, people know who A.J. is, and she very much would like it that way forever.
Snakes. Ophidiophobia
Romance. She's heard the stories. She's experienced certain situations. Love hurts. Love kills. She'll stay out of love's way.
Personality:
♦ Jealous ♦ Social ♦ Heartbreaker ♦ Vain
There's a word for people like to use about A.J. and it's not one used in polite company, though the truth of the matter is a bit different than what it seems. It's quite easy to see just what traits she took from dear sweet mother despite A.J.'s protests on the matter. Popularity is something that A.J. flocks to, believing herself to be someone worth knowing due to her having a finger on the pulse. She wants people to know her name even if she can't be assed to remember any herself. Always with some new bit of candy around her arm or in her eyes, A.J. seems to be the type to be seen as a bitch due to her interests in physical beauty in herself and others, but while it's true she surrounds herself with yes-men and women and enjoys being the center of any given attentions, A.J. is hardly a bitch or even catty. She treats those that make an effort just the same as she treats her inner circle and is always willing to lend an ear to the girls that need a little bit of guidance.
It's just that her more...negative aspects overshadow her kinder ones. A.J.'s love of physical attractiveness has made her rather vain. Her fear of romantic involvements and entanglements has made her into something of a tease though it's something of a status symbol to be her bit of arm candy even if all that comes of it is a single night. Though she does have a heart, especially for the girls in the academy, A.J. buys a little too much into her own hype which serves to make her equal parts ice queen and motherly. With a bit more emphasis on the ice queen on most days.
A.J. is hot and she wants people to know that regardless of how it bad it might make her look.
Background: One of the perks of being the child of someone that's a pretty big deal is that it makes you want for nothing. Though a marriage was not involved, A.J.'s mother had a particularly wild night after another in a long series of one-ups she was having with someone who won't be mentioned and this one ended with a pregnancy; an unwanted side effect but then, who hadn't been there before. A.J. was raised by her mother just long enough for her mother to instill some very important wisdom about life and people in general. A.J. didn't quite understand at the time, what young person does when the topic consists of such concepts as 'infidelity' and 'people will disappoint you'?
But A.J.'s father, despite not wanting to be one, had little choice but to take her in after her mother suddenly parted to continue to game and her spiteful existence. A.J.'s father, Anthony, is a wealthy sort that managed to turn his less than stellar looks into million dollar paychecks thanks to his ability to believably act. Growing up, A.J. was spoiled, raised more by the house help than the parent that stayed behind. There were visits from her mother, but they grew less and less frequent the older A.J. got.
It was actually her mother that insisted A.J. attend Olympus Academy if only so she could be among people A.J. could relate to. A.J. didn't understand at the time how...higher up her mother truly was and she entered the Academy with the hopes that there weren't any expectations to live up to anyone. A.J. really just wanted to continue being doted on like she was at home, though that was a bit more difficult among peers. Difficult, but certainly not impossible.
A.J. started exhibiting habits from her mother, namely in how she dealt with people that she felt betrayed her, the liars and cheaters of the world. Jealousy and spite reared their heads far too often and with it came a desire to be wanted...to be desired. Comparisons between herself and more unsavory aspects of her mother were quick to raise her anger, and considering the sorts that attend Olympus Academy, thsoe comparisons were made rather often.
She's more like her mother than she cares to admit.
Extra: Subscribes to the belief of 'Don't get mad, get even'.
Keeps pointers on just who is sleeping with who. This is for research purposes and for the whole 'get even' thing. Just in case.
I mean it's probably Hecate if I'm being honest
Godly Information
Godly Parent: Hera
Relationship With Godly Parent: A.J. wouldn't say they have a great relationship, but they have an...understanding. She no longer thinks Hera left her behind now that she knows more about the pantheon and her heritage and all that, but it's doubtful A.J. will say she loves her mother. But she wouldn't say she loves her father either and he was actually there for more of her life. Hera cares for A.J. no more or no less than any other child she has borne but there is care to be found.
Godly Abilities: Due to Hera's status as the 'Queen' of the gods, A.J. considers herself as something of a 'Queen' of the demigods and with this status comes the ability to influence her 'worshipers' to do her bidding, which mostly consists of telling her hangers-on to do things like take her tests, do her homework, and cater to her.
On the more positive side, A.J. can also grant favor to couples and her blessing to young couples comes with assurance that their love is for real and will last. A.J. doesn't play matchmaker, but she can see who is faithful and who isn't and if two people have genuine feelings towards one another.
A.J. can't turn into a bird, but she can understand and communicate with them if the need should ever arise. Birds see many things from above and are shockingly good for intel.
Less an ability and more taking after her mom, when scorned A.J. will do everything in her power to ensure the humiliation of whoever it was that wronged her, no matter what.
