You showed up.

One way or another, you've arrived at my profile. You've taken a wrong turn in an alleyway because you didn't pay enough attention to your map. You've heard of something cool and new and thought maybe you'd see what all the fuss is about? Or maybe it is that you noticed like me updating my status or were lurking through an RP or something I am in and just kinda clicked my profile, that happens too. Regardless, you'll come to learn that your actions have consequences. Not this one since you can always just, like, leave.

I have a few names and I don't mind being called whatever you fancy at that given time. KingofTheSpectrum, FamishedPants, ChadChadlainn. Any derivative of these is fine as well. Most tend to use Pants, however. I'm nearing my thirties and enjoy games, anime, V-tubers, and visual novels. You can find my still-obsolete list here as it contains everything important on it.

As for games particularly, I am a huge fan of Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Nier and its sequel, FFXIV, and recently, Project Wingman.I tend to lean towards shooters and action games, but I have also wasted 8+ years on League of Legends. I think the only games I tend to avoid are card games and sports games, but there can always be exceptions.

For anime, I tend to watch whatever looks entertaining. It doesn't have to be good. I've seen a lot of the generic, poor-quality isekai harems that are out there. It's difficult to remember what I actually genuinely like, but Chaika the Coffin Princess comes to mind, as well as FMA: Brotherhood. I'm currently enjoying Tokyo Revengers.

I've read my fair share of visual novels, as my list would tell you. I can't recommend going through Muv Luv Extra/Unlimited, then playing Alternative enough! Big fan of Rance, Grisaia no Kajitsu, and Demonbane as well. I could probably go on and on about them, but I'll stop here.

Also, fuck you, Broken.

"Should I slay or should I go?"
@BrokenPromise@Shifter_Master@TsundereStorm

The rather dramatic entrance of a magical girl had caught Silhouette's attention just as she, rather uncharacteristically (or perhaps nowadays it was in character?), had felt that things weren't as exciting as they could be. Was it a punishment or a gift? One could not truly say, not even Sil herself, but only one thing was for certain: There would be bloodshed.

It was unlikely that this new addition to the scene had the same objective as Sil did. Rather, the opposite was more likely to be the case. And so, because their goals conflicted with one another, this new girl must be eliminated if she would not leave. She did not fit the description of the VIP, which meant that the Ebon Mint did not care about this individual's wellbeing (or simply weren't able to predict their appearance). That didn't seem likely, so she opted to believe the former.

Silhouette readied her blade while ignoring the girl's question, but unless she was incredibly dense, that should have answered her questions better than any spoken words could.

She imagined it.

The path she would take.

A simple application of stopped time and the opportunity it could provide Sil. With no time to comprehend what was happening, and certainly being incapable of evading the attack, Sil would plunge her blade straight through the girl's skull, eliminating her without any sort of conflict, without any taking any sort of damage, and without any sort of excitement. This had been par for the course when confronting other magical girls, ever since she'd become one good enough at her specialization to cease the flow of time. It was very similar to how she operated back before then, too. Because allowing a foe the chance to properly respond was putting yourself at a risk. It was failing the job as a swift, effective, and silent killer. It was not being perfection, which was often expected of her.

It was the path Sil would take... if Sil was still herself. But power comes with a price. Especially power granted from a suspicious black coin from a shadowy faction that you were in debt to.

But now... now Sil was occasionally prone to slipping. An assassin like herself knew the path she should take, but that path was never the most entertaining nor the most memorable. Her corruption manifested in the form of some wicked desire to actually take part in a battle. Something she shouldn't ever do unless she was in a position where she had no other option. So, instead of the quickest and cleanest method of removal of the object before her being executed, she held back. For now, at least.

If her foe wasn't worthy, then she'd grow bored and dispose of it without hesitation.

"You are not my objective. Leave now, and you may keep your life." she informed Penny, devoid of any sort of visible emotion.

Though her words may contradict how she felt, this was merely an attempt at provocation that doubled as a judge of character hidden under the guise of a chance for her foe to leave. She wouldn't even attempt to stop them, were they to choose to retreat. In that case, she would be disappointed, but the person who would accept that was not a worthy foe. They were a coward, and it would be doubtful that they would ever prove exciting for Sil. Of course, that wouldn't happen. A magical girl who boarded this vessel with, presumably, the knowledge that there was an enemy up here, would not simply run away. Moreso, when you factor in that Silhouette had no real reputation that someone who wasn't a potential client would investigate, nor had betrayed her own powers just yet, the magical girl simply had no reason to be intimidated.

Right now, she was a crimson-eyed magical girl in a stylish coat that was trespassing on the ship with a dagger. It was not especially intimidating to someone who looked as though they could hold their own in a fight, particularly because they looked beyond human. And so, this ultimatum she was given might have sounded like overconfidence, and that was more likely to incite an aggressive response than it was to actually cause the girl to leave. It also implied that she had no intention of surrendering herself without actually saying that. Man, what a proactive couple of sentences.

Sadly, the girl had not the chance to answer Silhouette's incitement, as shortly after, the ship had begun to descend. That could only really mean a couple of things: One, the ship was going down and somebody had completed Sil's objective for her, or two, the ship was moving due to its owner's will. The rate of descent and lack of any sound signaling the ship's destruction told Sil that this was the latter possibility.

How unfortunate.

Sil, aside from keeping her balance and waiting for the ship to cease its descent and then ascent, did not move a muscle. She couldn't exactly figure why that was. Did she want to fight, or did she merely not want to give the girl in front of her an opening? Either way, neither girl had really acted during ascent and descent of the ship, and so a new magical girl had joined the fray.

“Alright you-” the pirate magical girl, apparently named "Shining Scale", looked at them. “...What is going on here?”

Sil understood that she did indeed allow the pause in order to make things rather interesting. She wanted to make this boring mission fun, even at the added risk of doing so. Besides, she had this feeling that she wasn't exactly outnumbered (though she would never act in this way if she wasn't confident of her chances alone). And so, with two foes before her, she took the offensive, knowing that the pirate who owned the ship was not going to simply allow her to complete her objective.

Her attack came fast and it came without warning. Empowered by her own magic, the speed in which she advanced towards Penny almost gave the appearance as though she had teleported. Had the girl's attention wondered elsewhere, or she simply was physically incapable of defending against it, the blade was dragged horizontally, intending to separate the girl's head from her neck. Was this a simple fight between two humans, someone wielding a dagger would not be making such a move. Of course, this wasn't any such fight. This was now a fight between magical girls capable of feats that far surpassed that of a human, and so removing one's head with a blade this length was quite easy.

Sil would know.
Let it be known that someone is about to catch these hands. And by "about" I mean when once BrokenPromise posts, which is apparently after Arti posts. So presumably tomorrow is when people are going to catch hands, but also possibly Monday.

But yeah, hands will be caught, thots will be shot. etc

Actually technically stabbed but like stab doesn't rhyme with thot and I was going for something that sounded smooth so instead of saying "thots will be stabbed", I chose "thots will be shot". I hope that is an acceptable action and that the intention of this entire post was passed on to you, the reader.

Am 100% drunk right now, please excuse me.
What a bunch of nerds.

"All ships sink eventually, remember that."

[@Everybodyintheroleplay]

The search had been going on for a while. Something as small as a handbook, as important as it was, was pretty easy to hide. Even though there were only two floors, the number of places such a device could wind up were astronomical. Jezebel had proven she was pretty good at doing room searches, but even something like a tiny handbook in Axis Mundi would be tough to find. She was at the beach resort, dragging a sand rake behind her that she had snatched out of the zen garden. Today was a bad day to be back in her jester's outfit. The light hanging in the sky was every bit as hot as the sun's rays, and her uniform was quite heavy. Despite all the chaos going on, and even her discomfort, she managed a smile. And Jezebel would continue to smile, even as her efforts provided no fruit.

The door to the beach resort had opened, and Zach appeared at its entrance. "Jezebel, are you in here?" he asked just before he spotted the woman in the jester outfit. Despite what some might call them "sharing a moment" days earlier, Zachary still could not adjust to her choice of apparel entirely. He still seemed at... unease when he saw it.

She had turned to look at him and that is when he caught sight of her smile. "Er... well, I see you're enjoying yourself with the search, but it seems we've found the handbook. I think there was also some kind of fire or something but I decided to leave before figuring out what it was."

In truth, he wanted to be nowhere near that place, at least not without any mental preparation.

“Oh? They found it? And a fire too?” She slapped her hands together, allowing the rake to fall to the ground beside her. “ Tripendicular!” She giggled before running up to zachary. Her makeup was running a little bit with her sweating. “Thanks for getting me, I'm pretty sure you'd of had to drag me out of here if you had come much later.” She wiped her head with her gloved hand before placing a hand on Zachary's shoulder, smearing a small amount of makeup on his outfit. “Well, let's go see what the commotion is. Then I'll get something to drink.”

While he was glad to see she appreciated the spent effort, he would have preferred if it didn't come at the cost of his cleanliness. Thankfully, he was no neat-freak. But maybe he was a NEET-freak. But more importantly, he found himself confused at her choice of wording, being unaccumstomed to the slang she slung.

"I.. don't believe we're on a rollercoaster, so I can't say I feel that way too." he honestly declined. "A-anyway, we should probably go." He looked at her expectedly. Seemed he wasn't too comfortable with physical contact FROM A GIRL, FROM A CLOWN just yet.

Jezebel must have been able to sense his unease because she moved her hand off of his shoulder. Jezebel was unusually quiet. She would occasionally look at Zach out of the corner of her eye but otherwise seemed focused on getting straight to the patient's quarters. It wasn't until the staircase came in view that Jezebel sprinted in front of the archer and spun on her heel. She hid her hands behind her back like a shy schoolgirl. But that smile never left her face. She wasn't making eye contact with him, however. “So a few days ago, I actually caught Geina slipping my motive note under my door. She wasn't happy to be discovered but we talked a bit.” She looked at him out of the corner of her eye. “What's this about you and her almost getting into a shootout?”

Although he noticed the infinite stealing glances at him, he wasn't able to bring himself to ask what was on her mind as they walked. He felt a bit of guilt at his awkwardness at being touched, by someone who presumably had more reason to act like such. But eventually, Jezebel decided to confront him herself, so Zachary stopped, watching Jez spin and face him.

It would not be right to say Zachary had a smile or a pleasant expression on his face to begin with, but upon hearing Jezebel's inquiry, it noticably darkened for a second before his features broke out into a grin. "Oh, that? That was uh just me being very good at archery, and Geina being jealous, is all." he laughed, but dared not to meet her gaze either.

"...it wasn't anything serious, nobody was hurt."

“You beat her then?” Jezebel giggled. “I got the impression she totally creamed you. She seemed tre mad, so...” The cloun slowly spun until her back was faced towards Zachary. Though she was still looking at him. “This totally gnarly fire, where is it?”

As was tradition when dealing with Jezebel, Zachary found his hand on the back of his neck. He desperately needed to break this habit of his. "I mean... if you count her being disqualified and the game being called off a win...?" he couldn't bring himself to simply say "Yes, I did" and move on. While not a fan of lying in general, Zach couldn't bring himself to outright lie to Jezebel, perhaps because she was the only one he'd made any sort of personal connection with.

How ironic, given his dislike of clowns, and his inability to understand her eccentric way of speech.

"...Anyway, it sounded like the source was Shaun's room. I... can't say I had a good feeling about it." he admitted to his fellow Infinite.

“Well, that's why we're going to go together.” She started to walk down the stairs, careful not to walk too far ahead of Zachary. “Besides, everyone else is going to be there too, right?”

Once they both got down stairs, they could see that most of the smoke had cleared out. But the group of people outside of Shaun's room didn't look happy. The looks on their faces. What was that? The clown turned around again to look at Zachary. “It looks like everyone's here, but I don't see Marianne.” She wasn't smiling anymore.

All Zach could do was nod in response before continuing down the stairs with Jezebel. And once they had finished descending the steps, the bad feeling only got worse. A group had formed of everybody aside from Marianne and Felix, whom Zachary just barely caught sight of running away as he and Jez arrived.

...he already knew what had transpired, of course.

"...I, well... this is all some sort of prank, right? Allow me to check first." This time, Zachary took the lead, quickly forcing his way into the room. Maybe something silly, something dumb was causing people to freak out? Some kind of drama? Yeah, that had to be it.

...of course, that wasn't the case. The moment he spotted the corpse that had once been Marianne, Zachary knew that she was not among the living anymore. He was somebody who could tell from experience. But even worse? Someone else trapped with them was likely the culprit. He was, more than anything else, angry. Angry at whomever would do such a thing. Because that meant they were willing to kill off the rest of the Infinites to get out of here, not simply Marianne. And even causing her death alone was terrible.

...being a -------- is unforgivable...!
But sorrow also took hold in his heart, as well. The girl murdered did not deserve this, and while he wasn't especailly close to them, the others might have been. She gave him zero reason to dislike her, even in this tense environment. Someone like that couldn't have been bad, and it was a shame he would never get to know Marianne personally. But for those that did... parting in such a way...he could sympathize.

Making his way back out of the room, he couldn't exactly play this off. His solemn look probably betrayed the severity of the situation, just like the others, but if that wasn't enough, he could only really tell her, "You should prepare yourself before you go in, at the very least."

The gloomy atmosphere was starting to sink into Jezebel. She was no dummy either, even if she acted a bit silly sometimes. The trickster weaved between the other infinites, careful not to bump into any of them. Before long she was at the door opening. Everyone was in the way of course, some had even moved inside Shaun's room already. But she could see enough. The body of another Victim, suspended and butchered like some animal. The clown's initial reaction was to stumble backwards. This time she nearly bumped into a grieving Bliss. Anyone around could see that her body was injecting itself with adrenaline. She was sweating even more despite no longer under the heat lamp in the resort. Her breathing was ragged. Perhaps in some attempt to calm down, she inhaled sharply and clamped a hand over her mouth. Her eye lids lowered as she exhaled softly. It appeared to be working. She continued to hold her hand over her mouth when she walked back over to Zachary. When she lowered her hand, Zachary could see she was... smiling.

“Wow!” Jezabel said a little too loud. The rest of her words were much quieter. “I guess someone wanted to take a stab at getting out of here, huh?” Her eyes looked wet, and her body was visibly shaking.

Zachary was entirely unsure what to do in this situation. Jezebel seemed to be trying very hard to smile, but that only appeared to be making it harder on herself. Or at least that is what he gathered from her actions. He wasn't entirely an expert on dealing with emotional social situations like these, so he wasn't confident in this case. Speaking confidently in a public setting didn't translate to being confident in more private settings. Aside from his father, Zachary never really got very close to anybody, so it was not like he was ever required to help someone through a difficult time in their life. That being said, Jezebel was the only person he shared any true connection with in this place so far, and he should probably give her a real reason to place her trust in him. He could at least put in effort to comfort the grieving woman.

So, awkwardly, his hands did a few pointless motions in the air as he tried to find out what they should be doing. Ultimately, he settled for placing on on her shoulder and giving a light squeeze as he looked her in the eyes. His father would do this when he was sad (and a lot younger, but it's all he remembered at the time), and then he would say something that made things less bad. So, Zach tried doing that. But he didn't know what exactly to say and it probably looked pathetic. "...erm... please don't... push yourself so hard to stay in character. I'm sure it's already tough losing someone as-is." he... comforted? Said? Tried? He said words, at least.

Zachary remembered getting nervous and not being able to say everything he wanted the first time he was interviewed, but it was nowhere near as bad as this. It hurt knowing that currently, this was his best, and he didn't feel it was even approaching "acceptable".

Jezebel chuckled. “Is it in character for me to tell jokes after someone has died, hmmm...” Jezebel lifted a hand to her chin, but she didn't spend much time thinking about it. She gently brushed Zachary's hand aside. “I don't think it is. That's totally twisted, and I don't think you'd hang out with me if I was always like that.” She stopped chuckling and her smile vanished from her face. “But I'm glad you still remember our talk, Zachary.” She blinked. “We need to keep trusting in each other.”

The Infinite Archer mustered a small smile. "Certainly."

That had settled it. He was new to dealing with any true relationships, but he decided Jez was his friend and he'd be damned if he was going to let his first friend die down here. Also, he didn't particularly desire a death in this place, so that helped too. Either way, he felt the best way to ensure their continued survival was to take an active part in this investigation. He was no detective, but being up close to a corpse wasn't entirely foreign to him and the more people helping, hopefully, the better.

The murderer would be brought to justice, whoever it was. The only thing that was for sure was that it was an Infinite who took Marianne's life. Currently, he couldn't truly trust anybody in the group besides, well, Jezebel. Everybody else was equally likely to be the murderer in his eyes, but hopefully, some evidence would point the group in the direction of whom really killed the innocent Marianne. They deserved punishment, after all.

"..." his smile had gone and his teeth had started to clench.

Yeah, because killing someone for selfish reasons like rage or desire is absolutely unforgivable...!

Gluing his calm mask back together with his determination to get this case started, Zachary turned his attention to the group at large. There was no time to lose, to find the culprit, they would need to investigate.

"If we've all... gotten a chance to confirm that this has really happened... then I believe it best to begin the investigation immediately."
Hopefully, it is a success.
Silhouette

"...I ascend."

Since becoming a magical girl, Silhouette had personally gone through changes that altered her way of life drastically. For starters, well, she was now a "she" rather than a "he", which was perhaps the hardest thing to adjust to. Moving around under her guise as a young woman was rather annoying, too, since she could no longer rely on her prior accomplishments to gain work (something that changed over time, but nevertheless caused issues early on). But we'll just move on from this subject by stating that Sil's least favorite part about being changed to a girl was being dismembered, it made certain aspects of life just feel incomplete.

On the flip side, she had almost zero problems in regards to her powers. More tools to assist her were welcome, and as far as tools go, well, manipulating time was perfectly suited to someone who dealt in swift, silent killing. It provided her opportunities that she wouldn't have as a normal human being. And so, Sil had trained and trained until her use of Time was almost unrivaled. She created her own way to manipulate Time too.

But the most important (but not most inconvenient as far as Sil was concerned) aspect of becoming a Magical Girl was that there was also the "loyalty" that she needed to abide by now since she was in debt to people that did not seem very wise to anger. Back before all of these magical shenanigans, back when the world was a much simpler place, she did not need to worry herself with angering people and staying with one particular "contractor". But of course, there were no parties quite like the Ebon Mint in the non-magical world. There did not seem to be a single place that the Mint did not have at least some control of. She would not risk angering such a party unless she could deal with them, so paying off the "debt" she owed them seemed the wisest choice for now. Silhouette had no real desire to stick to any particular side of morality. Good? Bad? No, she was an existence that lived for herself. Living was the most important thing, followed by power and wealth. If playing the part of a good mutt kept her alive, then she'd do it in a heartbeat.

Of course, if the Ebon Mint ever was in the position to be removed from her life for good, then she'd take it.

Just like she was aware they'd remove her the moment she lost her usefulness. Thankfully, she was really good at what she did, and it was unlikely that there was an abundance of people quite like her. From her understanding, Magical Girls were originally intended to do "good", or at least remove Monsters, which typically was seen as "Good". There was more to it, obviously, but the important part was that Magical Girls with talents that seemed more suited to removing other Magical Girls were a bit less common.

She wasn't too confident that she'd fly too close to the sun, but she couldn't imagine them attempting to remove her from the picture unless she did something to warrant it. Her position, at least as of this current moment, was safe as it could really be in her scenario. Especially because she'd be doing them a solid right now.

*Flip*

Silhouette found herself aboard a flying ship, having used her magic to lock various items in place to create steps with which to reach the damned thing. Thankfully, the ship was merely hovering in the sky and not in flight, otherwise, this step would have proven to be quite difficult. She had to make doubly sure not to be spotted as she boarded since the only way she could get back down safely was through these same steps. Very fortunately, there was a mess below her that kept the attention off of her, and getting up to the ship undiscovered had been the first of three tasks she would accomplish effortlessly.

Part two of her plan and the primary objective given to her was to remove this ship from play, which she intended to do through the destruction of its engines. It likely would not require very much effort to do so, but first she needed to reach them. Silhouette had to find quite a few items to use as steps just to reach the ship from the highest vantage point she could find that also didn't seem like others would take notice, so she wound up on the opposite side of the ship. So, she had to cross from one side to the other. But since there wasn't anybody apparently on the thing at the moment, that probably wouldn't matter much, right?

Since there did not seem to be a single soul aside from herself aboard the ship right now, it really wasn't too relevant, but the apparent owner of this vessel was a small "pirate girl". She was apparently somebody of interest to either Vermillion Veronica or the Ebon Mint in general, as Silhouette was informed that she should not be killed if encountered.

Weird as it may seem, an assassin like Silhouette often was given limitations like these. Some clients, perhaps out of a horribly lazy and misguided sense of morality, often designated a singular target in the midst of family to remove. There was more than one occasion where Sil needed to sneak into a house and off perhaps the mother or father (or both) while leaving the child alive (and of course without being seen, too). If she had even cared about the subject, she might have asked why even bother? Some might claim it is more cruel to do this, as at no point in time had Sil managed to leave evidence that they could follow up on. They would live knowing that somebody killed a loved one and there was nothing they could do about it, or ever would. And that feeling would more often than not stick with them for the rest of their lives, perhaps festering into something wicked that another person might have to deal with.

Man, the world was cruel. But I digress.

To summarize, Sil was asked to get rid of this ship without killing its owner. This ship wasn't too hard to reach since it was resting in place in the sky, and it currently did not appear as though it was going to prove a difficult task to disable it, considering there was nobody currently aboard.

Well, whatever, as long as this counts towards my debt, I couldn't care less if there's no excitement.

And so, she began towards her current target with a blank, perhaps even bored expression on her face.

Alright, I am beginning my first post now. I hope that it ends up being a nice read. C:
@DarkwolfX37

I can see why you might be scared. I too still can't believe you can greentext on this site.

All I can say is that unless for some reason the Ebon Mint decides they wish for Sil to do something that is antagonistic, then Silhouette is not loyal past what faction pays more. Unless the amount was absurd, she wouldn't really switch sides mid-fight/task, but her powers may be bought by anybody who can be trusted to pay, as long as she's not told by a certain Minty OC to not deal with them. And I certainly don't really expect to have Sil stick with Novum permanently, so it's entirely possible for us to end up as hostiles given the right circumstances.

I can actually only really speak for Sil right now since I haven't actually asked what TsundereStorm wants to do with their faction, but I can say that so long as Red Rebecca doesn't tell Sil to do something that would be bad/scary for other people, then you don't really have to worry about things getting crazy.

Yes, as long as that doesn't happen.
