Your First Walker Encounter: It wasn't until Tiffany was on the bus shuttling out of Massachusetts when she encountered the first walker. At first, it seemed like it was a dream, but the attack was severe. The bus pulled up and was blocked by large amounts of traffic of everyone trying to leave the city, when a large group of people started running in-between the vehicles. The bus driver got out and that was when the walkers hit, attacking the man. Panic ensued and people started fighting to get off. Tiffany got out through the back and ran with the others away from the monstrosities that started attacking and eating a few of the passengers on the bus.
History Before Outbreak: Tiffany wanted to be a lawyer ever since her mother was killed. She could never remember what she wanted to do before that fateful day, but it doesn't matter now. Some gang thug wanted to rob her mother of everything she had on her and ended up killing her. All she had on her was $20 and her cell phone, but she was killed for it. Tiffany, 8 years old at the time, became shut in and preferred staying home as opposed to going out to play. She became a quiet child, she grew distant from her schoolmates and she would hardly talk to teachers. Her father grew worried and was struggling to pay bills with 2 mouths to feed. The stress got to him and he ended up driving his car off the road and crashing. He remained in a coma.
Tiffany and her brother were sent to live with their grandparents in Chicago. Her grandparents tried to get her to warm up, but their efforts went in vain. That is until the photobook. Tiffany's grandmother showed her pictures of her mother as a child and finally the little girl showed hints of a smile. She loved looking at the pictures. Tiffany began to start opening up more, finally spilling the emotions she was bottling up inside. Her grandparents won her over.
Years went on and Tiffany focused hard in school, getting straight As and going to college, where she focused in Political Science and Criminal Justice with the hopes of becoming a prosecutor and being able to convict criminals like the one who killed her mother. She would visit her father occasionally, but his condition never improved. When she turned 18, being the oldest, she was asked if they should take him off life support. She reluctantly agreed, knowing he would be with her mother.
She pushed herself in her studies and extracurricular activities and when she applied to Harvard, she got in. She was excited to go. She packed her bags and started school, loving all her classes and professors and delving into her work. It was then that she met Zachary. The two shared similar classes, but never talked until they were paired for a project. Long nights of studying turned into walks in the park and occasional movies and the two quickly hit it off and eventually started dating. The two of them were very close and after 3 years of dating, her last year of school, he asked her to marry him. She said yes.
After graduating, Tiffany landed a job with a big law firm in Massachusetts and life seemed pretty good. Until the news aired signs of a disease spreading through America.
History Since Outbreak: The panic didn't start right away. The news people seemed almost calm when they ordered evacuations to a safe shelter. Tiffany along with her fiance Zachary got shuttled on one of the buses transporting people to a safe shelter. They weren't told where they were going to go, but they went regardless. The trip turned bad when a traffic jam caused walkers to have a full line buffet. They attacked people in cars and both Tiffany and Zachary were forced to evacuate the bus from the back. They ran along with a few other people while the diseased started eating people.
Tiffany and Zachary didn't know where to go or what to do. There was panic and chaos going on around them. However, lady luck shone on them when a truck came pulling through offering them a ride to a safe place. They had nowhere else to go so they got on with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
The truck drove them to a school that was turned into a makeshift shelter. It was there that Tiffany learned what the threat was and how it didn't just start today, it was already in progress before she realized it. There was a rather large group that were in the school. A quick tour showed they had a large food pantry, a generator, and they were surrounded by a fence that, with proper fortification, could hold the line. They got to work quickly. Some struggled with coming to terms with the new way of life, but a man stepped forward, Bennedict, and took control of the situation. He became the de facto leader, saying he was from the army, a high rank soldier, and he was better suited to do so.
Months went by as they worked hard to make the school their new home. Scavengers went out to collect more food and medical supplies, as well as weapons in case of attacks. Bennedict called for able bodies to learn how to use a gun and Tiffany was drafted. She became skilled at using a handgun, preferring the Glock, while Zachary took to the shotgun. She also was able to shoot a bow and arrow, from her past high school days of taking Archery, and she learned how to make her own arrows.
Life wasn't the greatest, but it was simple. They were safe, they had food and shelter and things were going good. Until unrest traveled through the school. Bennedict started handing out stricter punishments if people did things wrong. He would withhold food rations, make people work the fence, even send people out to scavenge. People started calling Bennedict a dictator and a monster and a small group were thinking of leaving. Though Tiffany was grateful for the school, she and Zachary both decided it may be best to go out as well.
However, Bennedict still had a following and a spy told him of the group's plans. So during a meeting he called them all up. Things took a dark turn when he pulled a gun and shot a man in the head in front of them. He went on about distrust and the small group were forced into a classroom and locked in. It took time, but they managed to force the door and decide to make a run for it. They nearly got out before Bennedict showed up. He and a part of the school group came after them and took a few of them down. Tiffany and Zachary managed to get to the entrance gate before Bennedict cornered them. He grabbed Zachary and held a gun to his head. Tiffany took her own Glock and threatened him to let Zachary go. Bennedict merely laughed told her she didn't have the guts. A shot rang out and a red hole formed on Bennedict's forehead. The two didn't say anything, they just left.
They traveled South a ways, stopping to look for supplies and food. During a scavenging trip, Zachary found a small horde and was bitten. Tiffany tried to patch the wound up and continue, but it was apparent Zachary was getting weaker and weaker by the day. They knew what would happen if he died so he asked her to save him from that fate. With tears in her eyes, she granted his wish.
She continued to travel, coming across a small band of movers that took her in, provided she do her fair share of work. They would move around and gradually they continued down South. It was a couple months when Tiffany found herself in Georgia. She parted ways with the group and set off to find a more permanent home.

Why: One was her fiance who got bitten and didn't want to turn into one of those things, so she put him out of his misery. The second was the corrupt "leader" of their shelter who prevented her and others from leaving. He left her no choice.
