While his face remained grave, there was a hint of satisfaction in Vigil's eyes as he and the zephyrite finished on the first swarm. He gave a slight swish of his tail as he turned to face the second swarm, ready to lunge into battle once more... only to see the creatures descend upon the wooden one. She fell to the ground, causing a jolt of panic to go through Vigil. Without thinking, he rushed into the fray and stood over her, looking her over to check if she was still alive. A second jolt of panic went through the Behemoth as he realised she wasn't breathing...
Wait, did Wooden Ones even need to breath? Confusion mingled with the panic, and Vigil found himself freezing up as he tried desperately to organize his frenzied thoughts. Once again, it was the Zephyrite who managed to snap him out of potentially losing himself to fear, by ordering him to heal the Wooden One before attacking the second swarm. Vigil let out a huff. Well, he supposed that was one way to know for sure if the Druid was still alive. He placed a claw on the woman's shoulder and attempted to heal her.
Vigil has a healing pool of 15, and uses the whole of that healing pool on Amaryllis, allowing her to regain 15 HP.
(Also, if the swarms attempt to attack either Amaryllis or Iris, Vigil will use his action to give them disadvantage to their attack.)
@Fading Memory Also, if the Swarm attempts to attack Amaryllis or Iris in the next turn, can I use my reaction to give them Disadvantage on the attack roll, given I have the Defensive fighting style?
At the sound of the horn, Vigil immediately raised his head and began frantically looking this way and that in attempt to locate the source of the noise. He hadn't had many opportunities for combat since he had escaped the arena and as such, as the swarms descended upon the courtyard, his mind froze up as he tried to process what was happening. He took a small step as he watched everyone around spring into life in attempt to fend of this sudden invasion. There was so much going on all at once that he didn't register the two swarms hurtling in his direction until the wooden one woman used some sort of spell that made them start to glow.
He turned his head towards the threat just in time to see someone hurtling into the swarm - a zephyrite who had been standing near them. Seeing her draw her sword and bravely dive into the action seemed to snap Vigil out of whatever trance his mind had been in and he bared his teeth, letting out a snarl. He followed after her, lunging into the thick of battle alongside her and attempted to swat away at the creatures with his tail. As he did so, the club on his tail glowed with radiant energy.
The general knowledge of Tralaya is that they eat people, ‘have the deathly touch of the Dreadlord Dykto’, and tend to come in swarms; more specific knowledge would require some suitable knowledge check (an action). In broad mythological terms and what he can see around him? He should probably help unless he believes himself to be more helpful ‘tanking’
Dm Secret; Swarms are resistant to bludgeoning/piercing/slashing damage. And they tend to be small buckets of health that hit hard but have minimal bells and whistles. Tralaya are special and dangerous, but the big thing is ‘bucket of health that does a chunk of damage’ for Swarms.
Hmm...
How well known are Tralaya? Like would Vigil know that they are particularly tanky or dangerous? 'Cause that will affect whether he wants to aid Iris or not. If he doesn't know, he might just assume she's got this and attempt to engage the other swarm with Compelled Duel xD
