Rush out here beating me to the punch again xP

Happy New Year, everyone! May 2026 be a good year for RPing and for everything in general.
Gotcha! Got a 10 from the Knowledge check (with hope)

Hmmm... I'll say Capriccio doesn't have much more concrete information than the average city-dweller. Given he's in entertainment, however, he's likely heard a lot of rumors.

So I'll give you this because you rolled with hope: tell me an outlandish rumor that Capriccio has heard about the Witherwild. This rumor will have a grain of truth to it, though what that grain of truth will be is something I decide.
May you all roll with hope to have a happy Christmas.

Beat me to the punch xP

But yes, I hope you all have a very happy day, regardless of whether you celebrate or not!
I realized that after the post. I think Aurora is more so approaching it from the matter of Jub is the one she would rather deal with and cares for out of those three.

That warms my heart, and it would warm Jub's as well if he knew.

Jub: Good, the possible archfey likes me the most! Excellent!
Next post will be out at some point next week. Apologies for the delay...
Just checking before I start planning a reply, how widely known is Witherwild in Haven? Maybe because of Capri's own history of dealing with Haven withholding information, was going with the assumption the deal with Reaping Eye and its consequences were kept under wraps, with just the general knowledge of "nature be wild in Fanewick atm yo" being what the general public knew. (With rumours of something more going on spreading or such!).

Gotta know whether this is the moment Capri hears that for the first time and goes "omg whats that i- i mean YEAH duh of course" or "shit went too far with the clueless act now i owe 'em another round of beers" :D

Capriccio will definitely have heard of it because Haven's occupation of Fanewick for the last five years means they've definitely come across cases of it, though the average city dweller likely hasn't seen a Withered themselves, at least not up close. Knowledge about what it exactly is however is a little murky to Havenites. Most people (at least in the big city) assume it's some kind of sickness, one that's not as bad as the Serpent's Sickness and more a 'Fanewick problem', though those travelling to the Fanewick will be warned about it.

For more, you can roll a Knowledge check.
Post is out! Apologies for how long this took, and for me taking a moment to figure out the battle system. I really should have reviewed it earlier.
@Guardian Angel Haruki @Randomguy
Because of the Auroch's slowness and lack of focus, Pepper is able to get close to the creature without alerting and begins cauterizing the wound, burning away at the strange red plant within the Auroch's body. It does not like this, as the creature rears its head back to give an agonized bellow. It tries to move its head to get a look at who is causing it such pain, but before it can lay eyes on Pepper, Arnannel's bow hits it in the leg. While this attack does not seem to elicit nearly as much pain as the fire, it does draw the Auroch's attention away from Pepper and towards the elf.

The unfocused look in its eyes vanishes and begins to charge at speed towards Arnannel and the remaining hunter with him. The hunter immediately started rushing up the ladder, though not before pausing to beckon Arnannel to do the same.

@rush99999

Feliana was momentarily stunned when Dimple revealed his name and status and, once she got over her shock, gave a half-bow half-nod to the faeborg. "My apologies, sir," she said. "I've heard stories of you but, err..." She looked a little embarrassed and quickly cleared her throat in an attempt to cover it up. "Yes, our quarry. I'm, err, uncertain of how well it would have followed us back. It did give chase after it's attack, and we did our best to try and lose it but..." She sighed. "When it comes to things affected by the Witherwild, it's hard to tell how, I suppose conscious, they are. How intelligent they remain after their corruption..."

Before she can continue, however, the Auroch's bellow resonates throughout the village. Feliana's pupils increase in size out of fear. "Oh no..." she mutters to herself, immediately looking towards the sound. "It's here."

@Vertigo

Almost simultaneously, Spix, Mito and Greenbeard all gave the infernis a look. It wasn't the same kind of look in each of their faces - Mito rolled his eyes, Greenbeard looked somewhat pitying yet pained, and Spix was trying very hard not to scowl - but it all communicated a shared sentiment: his question had shown his ignorance.

"Surely even within your cities, you have heard about the Witherwild," Greenbeard said when none of his compatriots spoke. He was trying to keep his voice low as he spoke, but that last word seemed to catch the attention of a couple other patrons, who had ceased their own conversations as if to listen in. "I'm assuming you haven't seen any cases of it personally?"

Since the chatter in the bar has died down a little, the patrons start to hear the ruckus outside, including the bellowing of the auroch. Mito turns his head towards the door, while Spix narrowly avoids choking on his drink.

"What in the Circle Below was that...?" Mito mutters.
@Guardian Angel Haruki I realise after some thoughts that I probably should have also asked Haruki to roll damage on her Wild Flame attack. Even though she isn't trying to hurt the Auroch, she is trying to hurt the parasite controlling it so.... ^^; Could you roll me some damage?

(Sorry about this guys, first combat in this system, still working out how I do this.)
16 with fear, (I assume the second die is treated as the fear, right?)

Indeed it is.

Randomguy are you aiming to do any damage to the auroch or are you just trying to slow it down? If the former, will you roll some attack damage?
