The militaristic style of the group reminds him a bit of his militia training. Oscar hears what Lan is saying to Sophia. Oscar realizes that he also has a lot to learn as well. He speaks out aloud musingly "We all have something to learn, young and old. Even if you do not realize it, you are a student in the classroom of Life." A small pearl of wisdom ,that Oscar had forgotten until now, said by one of his teachers from his high school years. He did not understand the meaning until now ,which opens his eyes that much more to the world.
