YAY I'M BACK FROM SURVIVING THE BLIZZARD IN BOSTON slash taking auditions and getting flight delayed and generally having a really fun time traveling everywhere and not having time to post. BUT I'M BACK NOW and provided I don't get 2974652947 things piled onto me immediately (which has a 93% chance of happening) I can post and such.
Emily put her XBox controller down and turned around to look at Penelope, chuckling at her military uniform suggestion. "I don't need anything flashy," she replied. "As long as it's a comfortable, pretty dress, I'll be happy. I trust your fashion sense." She thought a moment. "Though, it could be flashy if everyone else's is," she opined. "I do like Tony Bowls." Turning to Felyse, she said, "Being hyperintelligent doesn't mean I'm hyper creative too," she replied with a chuckle. "The name is always the hardest part - not even superpowers can change that." Keeping her ears open for replies or new conversations from anyone in the room, Emily picked up her controller and turned her attention back to Halo.
Also, would anyone oppose to a Timeskip to 8:30 when both of the meetings should end? That way we can have some more interaction and have them go to sleep and such and then timeskip to the day they all decide to get together before heading out on their missions. .-.
Noooooooooooooooooooope.
Emily looked over at the freshly seated Heather and replied to her query. "It shouldn't take more than an hour," she replied, giving a conservative estimate. Ignoring Nick's retort, she then replied to Vee and the groups at large. "I'd be happy to help wherever I'm needed," she said. "We may be in two groups but we're all one team, right?" After waving goodbye to Penelope, Emily took the keys from Vee. "Sure, I'll close up," she said as the shop owner began to make haste for the exit. "Later!" she called out after her. Noting that her group had yet to make any plans, she figured she might as well break the ice. "So, Group One peeps...anyone object to meeting at the lab at 6:30?" she asked, looking around at her team.
I was hoping that a few more of us would post, but I guess we can't help it. As for stuffs, I'm doing pretty neato. And the RP has certainly been fun and good, although it seems like we lost a ton of steam and have been slowing down. As for group one's meeting, go right ahead. Ferghus has all the silly comic book hero stuff distracting him.
I'll throw up a post when I get back home about 4 hours from now. -leaves to go to class-
Also, how's everyone doing? I just submitted my application for a thing at school and while I still need to work on getting one part of it completed, it's like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I'm still stressing over getting stuff done and doing well, but it's much better now that that's sort of done with. I'm sort of... trying out this whole, "Be a better student," thing so we'll see how that goes. It'll probably just mean, for you guys, that I'll only be able to post once or twice a day at most. Anyway, I'd like to know how it's going for you guys. Also, how are you all feeling about the RP so far? I'm going to try and let everyone sort of RP stuff out that they want to, but if we want to just Timeskip to a specific time, like 5 minutes before Group Two planned to meet, then we can do that. We just need to try out best to keep everyone on the same page, I suppose.
Well, I'm sick. <-Inactiveness explained But other than that I'm good. Busy-ish. Recital prep is under way, I'm about to send in my audition recording to a professional audition (resumes suck), I'm flying to Boston next week to do two grad school auditions, and uh...rehearsals and concerts and junk. I like the RP so far. I think I'm starting to get the hang of Emily. I'd be fine with a timeskip - Emily would basically agree with people and then lock up next time I made a post for her. Though, Group One hasn't planned a meeting yet so I could have Emily take initiative like she does and suggest a meeting time.
So far, the most combat effective powers I see belong to Heather, Orion, Ray and Darrien. Of course, it goes without saying that everyone at this point won't lose to normal people, but I think these four are the most useful in a fight (This is considering their abilities ONLY)
Adding Vee, I'd agree with that. Emily seems like she'd be most useful getting information and wreaking havoc from a remote location (via her cellphone) - like the guy in the van from action movies as Vee pointed out. She'd be useful for planning and overseeing, less so in actual fighting unless it was a game of strategy. She knows tai chi though!
Emily transitioned fluidly between expressing concern at Vee's less than optimal condition and rolling her eyes at Nick's sleezery. Fortunately, the professor conspicuously arrived to distract her from the couch proceedings. As he began to explain his next objective for them (after vaguely explaining why he was late), Emily glanced over just in time to see Nick get clobbered in the face by the boxer. She couldn't help but both quietly gasp and hold in a chuckle at the result, being sure to turn back to the professor just as the sleezenugget winked at her. Listening to the professor and growing more agitated at the commotion occurring near her, she was prepared to shut off all power in the cafe. Fortunately, Heather took care of it first. - and Heather's, Penelope's and Ferghus' opinions on it. She had thoroughly analyzed the situation in a matter of seconds thanks to her newfound "hyperintelligence", as the professor called it, and was ready to work - not to mention get away from McSleeze. To the outward observer it appeared that she hadn't even looked at the tablet at all, let alone pondered at length. "I agree, Penelope," she said, looking over at the girl and giving a small grin of approval. "There's no reason the larger group shouldn't go after the larger target. We're all potent, so it doesn't matter who goes where." She turned her attention to the impassioned Irishman. "I can find all that," she replied simply. Watching him continue his speech, she decided to let out some of the inevitable ensuing awkwardness - they were college students, not comic book characters - with her reply. "Hey, my life isn't penniless!" she replied lightheartedly. "And neither is Vee's, judging by her nice cafe. But I do agree with you." She gave him an encouraging smile to try to quell his apparent nervousness.
I was going to have Emily offer her suggestion IC. If we go the voting option, I would vote {Group One}[Emily](Wenton).
Rather unfortunately for Emily, it seemed painfully obvious since their first meeting that someone was already trying to make moves on her. And also rather unfortunately for Emily, that someone was not someone she had the slightest interest in even getting too close to - a fact made poignant by his contributions from both sides of his body. Fortunately, they came from his perch on the couch and not right next to her. Still, she wasn't the type to be rude. "It took me 4 minutes and 52 seconds to walk here," she replied, having listened to "Children of the Moon" so many times that she knew its exact length. "I think I'm ok," she finished, giving him a small polite smile. Turning to listen to the conversation about the professor's whereabouts, she replied to Orion's question about his phone number. "I could find it," she offered. She was used to the intelligence thing but not quite used to the technology manipulation thing yet, but she still knew that it wouldn't be very hard to track down the professor's number in a matter of seconds via her phone.
