I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Wondering if the rebels have a Shilka, some flechettes would have a hard time doing more than maybe knocking-out its radar-gunsight. Meaning it could still engage in pucker-factor and open-fire during the 3-second rocket-attack.

Additionally, anyone in good enough overhead-cover to survive the PTAB-swarm would have about a six second window with which to shove an Igla up my plane's tailpipe. But again, I'm counting on pucker-factor keeping their heads down.

Clarification on the use of the Kh-29:
Usually they're used against high-value command and control centers, like battalion-level assets (such as the bunkers with the radar-operators, rather than the radar-dish). An example would be to knock-out a Patriot-missile battery.

The larger Kh-59 was largely aimed at theater-level assets, like hardened airport control-towers and missile-siloes; which is why it has more explosives than a 500 pound iron bomb, these things were meant to level control-towers (and if surprise is on their side, the ready-room full of on-deck pilots) like the world trade center.

Only time they get redeployed to lesser frontline is in the event of an abort-to-secondary.
-The use of mavericks for tank-busting was usually because those tanks survived cluster-bomb strikes by being extensively dug-in under several tons of dirt, Mavericks could punch through that, the tank, and even the crew-bunker underneath it.

Once those were taken care of... well... the pilots were meant to get up-close and finish things off with shamelessly large unguided bombs.

The likelihood of some rebels owning an airbase or even a TEL for 2K12s is pretty slim. Besides, we can dodge missiles.

@ next round, we should all gang-up on hood and feed her to the kraken while Ben poses.

After finishing the afternoon's debriefing, Kei could finally retire to one of the few rooms that hadn't become a billet and relax for the evening. She knew her first combat-mission would be coming soon. In any case she was already rain-soaked, may as well dry-off in one of those 'saunas' she kept hearing about...

---

The next morning briefing brought recent events to light. Such as Kat falling ill, likely to do with being over-stressed and constantly-wet... Kei could've sworn she'd remembered Kat was still furiously trying to towel-off even before departing on their six hour flight. That made undoubtedly for a bad combination... so now her point-interceptor was now pulling ground-pounding duties.

With only two tons and five hardpoints to play with, Kei was already mentally running every combination of ordnance she could think of though her head... not just what she could carry, but also what was available and most suitable for dealing with an infantry-centric enemy.

Her load of SNEB flechettes on the Matra-155 pods would work well against exposed infantry trying to hide in the treelines; some firebombs would work well against anything dug-in -no matter how well they'd try- while a half-ton parcel of sub-munitions could provide area-denial and anti-material capabilities along roads and airstrips. While she hoped her cannons with only 120 rounds would be more than sufficient to put-down any floating sampans.

Before long, her heavily-laden plane was plodding down the taxiway and thundering down the strip. Unlike the earlier flight, this one was quick and to the point when 'Heartbreak' spotted a convoy of gun-trucks and infantry heading towards friendlies indicated by green smoke. Short-Round peeled-off first, firing three pairs of flechettes from nearly two klicks out... the hail of steel had cut a swath into the trees and whoever was unlucky enough to try hiding within it as the ground was showered not only in the steel hypervelocity dart, but also shrapnel and falling branches from the trees.

Traveling at nearly 300 meters per second upon her target, 'Shorty' barely given them a chance to realize they've come under attack before she began dropping submunitions from the belly of her TL-500 munitions-container, showering the road in over two hundred and sixty PTAB anti-tank/personnel submunitions as her plane zoomed away to pull into a steep 70-degree unrestricted climb, giving Kei time to roll her plane over and look for any artillery-flashes from twelve angels up --less than 15 seconds after starting her attack-run.
I'm trying to figure out a good weapons-loadout for my J-7/J-17 like the diligent over-eager math-cruncher I am.

I already know I'm going to lug two pods of 68mm Flechettes.
-And maybe some snake-and-nape with daisy-cutters once I remember which to drop first and where to lay down the second in relation to the first.

Yep, Mk 81 bombs-first it is. Mostly to ruin structures and fell trees to prevent the enemy from fleeing.
-China also makes 100 kg cluster-bombs. Or I can borrow stuff from Brazil.

*feels too lousy to post a good IC*
-Judging from burst-length, likely either an F-105 or A-7

@ V-V Not sure if there are any targets worth a Maverick-iski Kh-29... and comparing those to an air-launched cruise-missile of the same strata as the AGM-109 Tomahawk to justify carrying it... Is like saying bringing a carpenter's hammer to swat flies is smarter than using a ten-pound sledge.
IMO, the Kh-25 anti-radiation missile would have been a better dedicated SEAD-missile.
-Eh, maybe we'll run into something in the 10-kiloton range worth being put-down by a single Kh-29...

There, I make bridge/war-boat/log-tank (TOG mk III). Will take me 2, maybe three turns.

Termite can go pave a road so it doesn't sink. But I'm going to fight that Kraken with an air-conditioned tank that shoots frozen dryad fetuses.
