I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

Bio

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

connection still spotty?
So is it good for me to post? Or should I wait for him to respond?

I'm hoping you noticed that instead of replying as though my character was 4 blocks away as I'd originally planned, that he'd managed to sneak within... (checks map)... about 40 feet directly behind you.

This was largely due to difficulties of finding a clear Line-of-sight to begin (reliably) interacting at any further distances in a city such as Cleveland. That, and my character prefers getting close enough to shout profanities at people.

Sure, I could try finding you randomly from a rooftop vantage-point, but the field-of-view from even the best rooftops is a gamble, and quite possibly a waste of time if you know the person you're looking for is just around the next corner (since just about anything can block a clear shot and I don't feel like shooting through walls all day).

But as noted, my character's place in the RP's timeline isn't exactly a fixed point yet. Much like the webisodes.
Nah, I saw you weren't directly crushing his skull as I had thought happened.
No no not dead, just beaten. With the hatchet and revolver...

Just saying that unless he's wearing a hard-hat, he ain't getting up again.
-You could've hit him with a plastic flashlight with a pair of D-cells in it and he'd be just as fucked.

Especially because of the rotters nearby.
-So yeah, massive skull trauma/fractures followed by the prospect of being eaten alive because you removed his ability to get-up and run.

And it isn't as though you're going to carry him to safety or make a last-stand on his behalf.

edit: ohhhh, across the face. That changes everything. Keep it below the nose.
Miscommunication could be one word to describe what just happened....

...

So I'm just talking to Ashe's back while you beat @Error's character to death with a one-pound hatchet?

Don't think a pound of hardened steel to the face is fatal... I'm sure I can dig up a video of what happens when a claw-hammer gets swung at a mother's face.
-Fictional account: X-Files, "Chinga".
-RL account: Hammer-time massacre, Russia.

I'm bored, I can do those sort of things:
Has your character even seen the sniper yet?

If not, who is to say the person who just got the jump on you isn't him?

And Hunter is already committed to rushing the actual sniper, so it isn't as though he'll be in a position to turn-around right away until he realizes his suppressive-fire isn't there.

The fact that Mr Taggart's arrival is totally screwing up your plan (and therefore endangering the lives of others) is likely a result of "a failure to communicate". So think fast on how to get Taggart to stop pointing that gun at you and help you.
*pokes back of @themadhatter420's back.

That's a bayonet, and behind that is a rifle; pointed at you by someone who neither knows nor trusts you.

You don't seem to be the sort to be a cannibal-raider, which is why he hasn't shot you (that, and you're the GM)
So.
Describe your all time favourite rp character, and I'll tell you mine

Well, the ones I've had the most fun with:
Chartose the elf-mercenary, drunken playboy who constantly thought himself a bit more charming than he actually was, had a crush on a princess-in-hiding without ever realizing she was a princess (and she totally despised him for it [see also: the Dana-burger]).

But like most romantic-antagonists, most of my character live off of feedback.
For the sake of my sanity, although it isn't a map-location in the strict "downtown" sense, it has mostly all of the structures our characters are referring to in a neat and tidy package, plus other oddements like a brand-name designer clothing outlet (Xtreme clothing and shoes) a dental office, a bank, a family-doctor's office, and a gas-station across the street.

Oh, and a multi-story building that has a window overlooking all of this.
