I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

Bio

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Another option is to let/force some pilots to sit-out on some missions.
Otherwise, I'm happy to have Marlene tag along! Will she be a new addition or a Panther returning from leave?

Likely a newcomer, due to how recent the Kamdeshi revolution has been.
-It is being implied that Marlene has seen combat in the last three years of that war; not as experienced as Leclerc, though.

As for weapons, I'll wait. Was hoping for a small autocannon and a large autoloading tank-gun (literally ripped the specs off an AMX-13's turret). The rocket-pack was likewise, the tubes from a BM-21-1 ripped right off the truck and bolted onto the FRAME.
Name: Marlene Abdelkadar
Age: 19
Gender: Female

Disposition: Sly, intolerably persistent, very emotionally invested and motivated.

Background: Hailing from war-torn USK/PU borderlands, unlike Leclerc, her unit was issued with second-hand FRAMES after the PU was already well-equipped to deal with the threat. Constant supply-problems and frequent breakdowns from skating across sand-dunes meant her squad operated under-strength in guerilla-warfare, often the pilots functioned as light infantry while the few remaining FRAMES provided much-needed fire-support to their guerrilla campaign.

On more than one occasion, civilian-FRAMES were pressed into service either just to keep a few more frames running, or retained simply because their smaller size was better suited to the sort of operations they conducted.

When the war ended, their independence secured, there was a massive draw-down and disarmament of their forces as USK focused its resources on rebuilding and caring for their people, an act that quickly highlighted the difference between the PU and USK. Marlene's unit was one of the first to be scrapped, handing in many of their converted FRAMES for economic development, while nearly all their best FRAMES ended up being conglomerated into a single centralized unit.

Angered by her new vestigial purpose in the military, sitting behind a desk, she quit and purchased a surplus FRAME and hit the mercenary-market.

Inventory:
-AKSN-75U "Tanker's Krinkov" with infra-red scope and IR laser-sight/illuminator plus a 75 round drum because if she gets into a firefight out of her FRAME, it won't last long enough for her to get a chance to reload.

Funds: 312,410c

Other:

Gabel Wester
William Taggart

Patrick continued eyeing the Mosin with envy, as it had been left unattended; until Gabel said something about her father, suggesting he was the source of the scraping-noise. He also saw the drawing of the woman, and put that and the story of how she'd burned herself trying to cook together.

He was pretty sure what that meant, the girl was an orphan in denial.

"That safehouse sound like a good idea," Patrick said, nodding; "But maybe we should leave a note in case someone else comes. We don't want them to worry."

From the kitchen, William murmured in agreement, "We can put a tag on the door, telling any response-teams this place has been checked and evacuated with survivors, and any hazards, or supplies left behind to aid others, and an arrow, map, or just a note to where we went and who."

As the water began to boil, Taggart brought the heat down and took a crayon and a sheet of paper, writing a note in big letters, followed shortly by Patrick and Gabel.

Just then, the saucepan of boiling water was knocked off the stove and a loud groan was heard, some shamblers had gotten in. Mr Willis prompty started hacking into them, getting bitten when his Kukri sunk into one of them at a bad angle and took too long to get out. With one hand now pretty badly messed-up and bleeding, he drew his revolver and started shooting. Taggart set down the sheet of paper and grabbed Gabel to let her ride his back (having just learned her name), there wasn't any time or space for him to grab any of the rucksacks as he fetched his rifle and went out the only clear-looking door, truncheoning a few on the way out as he went at a very brisk jog towards the go-cart.

In the living-room, sat their note, slightly blood-splattered upon the table:
Survivors evacuated to 8th Street Aid station, Willmington, 10/25
- William Taggart
-
Patrick Willis
- Gabel Wester
*Just realized everyone who wanted to join the Foster/LPFan/LoveMeDead party has already moved-on.

*Proceeds to kill every other character in the room with Mr. Taggart.

Well, I'll give @Love Me Dead a chance on auto-follow for a bit. But LPFan hasn't even logged in for a month.

[Note: being given GM-permission to control everyone's characters for this post, it is being subtly hinted I am to kill them off.]

(also, post will be broken into review and new-content, simply so I can double-check what is going-on and tie-in my character to more-active group.)
Tempted to just post the house being overrun with shamblers while boiling that mac 'n cheese.
Chartose was enjoying a rather hearty meal, half of which he'd caught himself, the other half paid for, prepared most graciously by the well-paid innkeepers as the crowded hall of jovial gents listened to a huntswoman's yarn about a creepy little cave-entrance some three days worth of hard hiking right into screamer-territory.

The Charr scoffed, downed the last of his meade, and took a place in line. The Yuan-Ti huntress made quick work of dismissing much of the rabble as being fueled more from liquid-courage and hormones than an actual taste of adventure and exploration. By the time it was his turn the phrase "How can you be useful to me?" had lost all hint of emotion.

"You said there is a cave, a dark one. I can see well enough in the dark, I can cope and climb well enough with or without a rope. You had my interest at this place having the wildlife spooked."

Chartose then motioned for two more goblets of ale to the table as he pulled-up a chair, "So what sent you out looking for wild-game in screamer-territory?"
Will post soon as life stops spinning.

Feel free to puppet his character, it's been quite a while. I'd like to get all the characters in the same place relatively soon

Well, I'm waiting for @Love Me Dead to post, so they can puppet @LPFan and this can get moving.
