I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

Bio

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

If you can build up a retort with people, you can hold a conversation.

If you can hold a conversation -even if it's an arguement- you can learn something about them if you pay attention.

For example, sometimes where a RP stalls indicates that a part of the RP concept needs to get trimmed to keep others from tripping on it.
Well, I had one thing that was a 1x1 idea pitch in the blind that ended up becoming a large group RP that I now have to GM. So somewhere between where you are and where I'm at should be a solution.

In my case it was knowing a few roleplayers well enough to have an idea for common themes that they want...

The other was persistance. Because the first 6 people I pitched it to didn't go very far even though interest was shown, or there was an expectation to just jump directly into the roleplay (which hardly happens in my case).

Thirdly is figuring out when and what to start dialing back on in terms of themes to pursue. As some people intersted in the same genre may not be comfortable with some aspects of it, or not quite willing to give it a 270 degree twist yet (others will just yawn unless you offer a full 960 and throw in a few kinks).
Ask not what your country can do for you...
^IIRC, that was actually a promotional commercial in the 90's.

It was a weird decade.

Banned for discussing emojis.

I prefer emotes.
Rei is probably the old professor that anyone with common sense tries to avoid gaining the attenion of.

Being aspiring mech-pilots... common sense is so rare it's a super-power.

Ray, meanwhile... is likely an undergrad.

I'll do that once I stop being lazy. Which might be latter today. Might. Don't get your hopes up.

I'm typing on a screen with a reduced resolution b/c I had to rollback to the stock graphics card on my PC and then dig up a 25 year old CRT monitor that can actually use it.

Mixing DeLL, HP, and Gateway components is fun.
Yes... that would be good.

You could even put it directly in the character-tab.
