Hm...
That...
Wow. @SadCubone, I have the PERFECT idea for where to lead your guy on his solo adventure. Lemme grab the reins to lead you somewhere, alright? I swear it won't kill you or anything.

>deadserious
It's... Okay for now, I guess. But I've still got to reaffirm my power as the GM, dude; here, when there are decisions and deliberations about what will happen and where people will end up that are not explicitly within the characters' jurisdiction, I have the final say. I won't have you set up for something quite that mean (because then you'd die and that's no fun), but I do have something in mind.

But no seriously, that's decaying deer carcass you char's eating. You can't just eat that (and RAW, no less! Wild and sitting out there for who knows how long, considering it's ROTTING) without any repercussions. At least have some negatives come with that event.
Okay, clearly, that was a joke, but I apparently can't use humor here.

I am the GM, though. I said the world develops as we move, but at the end of the day I have the final say in things.
Well, there you go, then.

By the way, Cubone, you're slated to run into a deciduous forest if you keep walking that way.
Oh, and a pack of what looks to be very hungry wolves. Good thing you had that rotting flesh in your pockets, right?
Oh right, and since that's rotting deer... You know, food poisoning WILL kick in.
Marcus threw his hand in the air at the sheer inanity of the statements that the old man was throwing at them. What, so it was a GOOD thing that he was eating a deer that was CLEARLY not safe for consumption by anything less than the insects that were wriggling about on the ground? Was this man all right in the head?

"...Yeah, that's it, wait up a sec, Ada-" he began to say as Rae-Ah began to reach for the deer offered by the crazy rancher... Person... Thing. Actually, at this point, Marcus wasn't too far off from just labeling the man as insane and no more.
"...Yeah, sorry, don't think it's a good idea to eat that stuff, regardless of what you are now." he said, and, with a sigh, shook his head as he turned towards Adam and Nova as Luke seemed to storm off in the opposite direction.

"...Don't worry, just leave him be." he said to both Rika and Rae-Ah, the only two who seemed to remain hesitant about the situation. "If he's going to insist on eating that godforsaken decaying flesh, then let him. Come on, we've got civilization to find."

Glancing at Rae-Ah, though, Marcus noticed the quite out-of-place glow on the center of her forehead, which worried him. Shit. That was... Probably not a good sign. Maybe it was...?

The heat coming off of her was getting increasingly stronger, and by the looks of things it was DEFINITELY not a fever...

"I don't think it's safe to wait around, though. Let's move."

It worried him, but with absolutely no clue about the girl's physiological state all he could really do was push forward.

"Yo, Adam! Wait up!" Marcus exclaimed, jogging over to the other two before beckoning those behind him to follow behind. Surely they weren't going to follow that madman, right?

Hrm... I think it should be fine if they wanna go on their own adventure and all that, but if the dude's gonna be insistent on eating rotten deer I'm gonna have some plans in store for him. :I
Nope, not open.
"Adam. Gotcha." Marcus said, nodding his head before glancing warily at the raw deer. yeah, that still didn't feel right. Dude was eating raw deer that he just picked up from... Somewhere...
The stench was... Well, bearable, considering how he used to go to the market with his parents back when he still was in contact with them, but there was definitely something off about the meat. He gave a once-over of the deer and sighed before shouting at the idiot who was still chewing on the stuff.

"YO. THAT'S ROTTEN. GOOD LUCK." he shouted just as Adam decided to make his own declaration... Next to him. Well, at least it wasn't as ear piercing, given he had time to cover his ears as the shout resonated around them. Still hurt a bit, but it was better than making him go completely deaf. As he shook his head a bit to get rid of the remaining disorientation, he felt someone... Or something knock into him from behind. Marcus stumbled a few steps forward before recovering (just barely stopping himself from falling over) and turning around to face whoever had done that.

"Oh, come on no-" he began to say before he was cut off by the girl's appearance. Well, that half-snake body was... Certainly strange.
Okay. A naga... Or something of the sort, WHATEVER! They went by so many different names that it made no difference to him. The elf-girl's remarks, though a bit snide in nature, had truth to them. Shit. Maybe yelling like this wasn't the best of ideas, especially given that they knew nothing of their current location.

"Alright, if that didn't wake everyone else up, I don't know what will. I think this is all the people here right now..." Marcus said, scanning the grass for any more signs of life.
...
Nope. Nothing.
"Yeah, that's probably everyone. I vote we go somewhere with a bit less... Well, grass. I'd really like a chance to get our bearings straight right now, and this infinite field of red and white grass ain't giving us any clues as to where we are. All in favor?"

"Name's Marcus. Marcus Chen. Just graduated from college before this... Mess, I guess you could call it." Marcus sighed, trying to rationalize everything before the ear-shattering scream from the fox-girl shot his eardrums into oblivion. Well, THAT certainly hurt; felt like someone shot a gun right next to his ear without any earplugs. Needless to say, his ears were ringing for a good few seconds afterwards as he tried to recover his sense of hearing.

"Oh, geez, that hurt like a bitch. That kind of scream's meant for horror films and stuff, not blowing out everyone's ears before you even meet them..." he complained, shaking his head as the ringing subsided... For the most part, at least. As the girl seemed to recover her own sanity and he, his hearing, Marcus turned to face the fox-girl who now decided to approach him and ask a few questions. Well, at least she wasn't still screaming. At that point, he'd just up and quit on this mess, plain and simple.

"As I've said, I'm Marcus Chen. And... I think... This should be everyone...?" he asked, hesitating to give a definitive answer. It was very likely that everyone WAS up, but... There was no guarantee of that. Just to be sure...
"But it might be better to check around just to be safe."

Uh... Yeah, since the issue's come up, let me clarify it for everyone's convenience.
Everyone now knows a new 'universal' language, but that was mainly for the sake of being able to read/write whatever the heck other people are writing/reading. Translation magic shenanigans makes the issue between Cubone and Tokki make more sense; it'd probably make what everyone's speaking sound like whatever language they're familiar with.
