You tell me if you're still in a good mood after being stuck in cart being pulled down a bumpy road for at least half a day. =3=;;
"The Princess requests our presence? Well, I'm sure I can-" Tiral began to say before being cut off by Julianna, who had also happened to come to receive the message. While being interrupted was a tad rude, it wasn't as if he was in any particular mood to argue, anyhow. Bidding the messenger adieu before deciding to respond to the knight questioning him, Tiral turned to Julianna and gave off a bit of a grimace before speaking.

"I personally don't care much for social events. All those rules of etiquette and formalities and whatnot... Though I fully understand why all those extra things are in place, I really don't like the superficiality of it all. To be frank, I'd rather stay back here at Candaeln than go to some event like that; much less of a chance to embarrass myself and all that," he sighed, shaking his head. "Though, given recent trends, I'm almost certain that I'll be dragged along for the ride. Not particularly something I'm looking forward to."

Before her could turn away and begin to walk to his own room (for a second time, no less!), the 'immortal knight' came up to them and came up with...
...
Wait, what?!

"...Er... Pardon me, but did you say... Preparing? And... As many limes as possible? I'm sorry, but what in the name of the goddesses are you thinking?! Are you honestly asking us for something so frivolous?"

The incredulity of the situation was not lost on Tiral, who, with a sigh, walked over to the side and massaged his forehead. There were many reasons to not want to have to deal with something like a 'Royal Ball', but this? This was something ENTIRELY new.

"...Excuse my earlier rudeness, but my body is currently not in a suitable condition to do something like that, anyhow. If you'll excuse me, though, I'm going to return to my quarters now. There are a few more things that I need to handle before I inevitably get dragged like a dog on a leash to the event to come. I'll notify the captain in about an hour or so... Assuming I don't get caught up in my work."

With the soreness of his muscles not helping his mood any, Tiral began to walk off to his own room. Even if he had been lying in a cart the last who knew how many hours, there was a distinct difference between being bumped around uncomfortably down a road and sitting comfortably at his own table, after all...
Oh my god it's Mashu.
Masaru turned his head towards Yukine and, after acknowledging the fact that everything that was usable in the shipwreck had probably been pulled out by now, nodded to the kitsune as he moved to double-check the crate. Even if it had been already checked over, it didn't hurt to at least make sure of that fact. And, well... To be fair, the sooner they got the whole 'not starving and/or dying of thirst' thing out of the way, the better.

"Uh... Right. Well, uh... Yeah, I guess that's kind of a problem. We should probably get some place that's a bit farther inland, though...? If the storm that dropped us here is anything to go by, then without any sturdy shelter staying in here might only help us kick the bucket faster," he thought, glancing at the sea and grimacing before shaking his head. "Yeah. Maybe a bit further inland in better for now. It'll do until we can get our bearings straight and not have to worry about day-to-day survival and all that."

Turning his attention back over to the crate, Masaru took a deep breath and...
Casually popped open the top with minimal effort. Huh. Seemed the crate wasn't as sturdy as he'd expected. Or maybe he was a bit too strong. Whatever.

With that cover now flipping in the air, the oni casually glanced into the box and attempted to pick up a piece of the hardtack. Seeing that it was still in one piece (and, surprisingly enough, not as wet as he had expected it to be), he casually placed it back in the crate.

"Okay!" he called out, lifting the crate up before turning to everyone else who could be listening in. "Everyone who can move something, pick up whatever's left and help bring it to some more stable land! The sand here's not going to be growing anything any time soon, and it's probably not gonna be solid enough to get any sorta foundation up! Once we move a bit deeper, let's try setting up a shelter to keep this stuff from going bad from exposure! That okay with everyone?"

After that half-request half-order, Masaru turned to Yukine to check if his perceptions about farming (at the very least) were true. As far as he knew, sand was horrible for growing crops in, so... Yeah.
Also, the frustration of being tossed out to sea like this made him want to punch things really badly. Punching down a tree or five?
...
Yeah, he could do with that.
Hm... Intrigued. May join, assuming I can come up with an idea.

How many chars to a person?
@Vec: You misinterpret my statements.
1. Yes. More or less.
2. More along the lines of 'It's illogical for him to have it when it doesn't fit thematically into an archetype that really shouldn't be a thing in the first place'; something like what you stated is likely to be valuable and probably be kept under better wraps, but I'm going to drop that line of argument.
3. Somewhat, but moreso that a 14-year-old in that sort of scenario should not be able to recall as much as you are saying in a scenario like that.
@Vec: Well, to respond in order...

1. I didn't think that someone would take this route. Given the setting I have at the time (aka the Renaissance/Age of Exploration-era tech and stuff), there shouldn't be any need for these to even exist. If I was to list out every possible scenario that I wouldn't want being used, then I'd take over a month and STILL be missing things. It shouldn't be necessary to have to write out every single situation and what should and shouldn't be okay.

2. Malnourishment is malnourishment. Regardless of how much they are given, nobody with that much of a lack of a proper diet should even be able to scale an anchor or flee for extended periods of time, for example. If the captors are willing to treat someone like a guinea pig to the extent of kidnapping them off the streets, then there is a very clear disregard for human life here. Thus, they would likely only give the character in question the absolute bare minimum to live, else they would be wasting resources. It wouldn't make SENSE for them to use more than necessary. This isn't a charity case you're proposing.

3.
When the ship returned a few months later

I would think this to be rather intuitive. I shouldn't need to say that on oceanic voyage on a pre-industrial vessel would take a month or more; just because the engines we use today can be used to travel from one half of the Earth to the other does not mean that we have ALWAYS been able to travel at that speed.

4. Because it's not logical. You think it's going to be easy for people to retain knowledge that they cannot make constant use of and remember? A good memory is one thing, but tell me how often students will remember what they've learned in class after the summer.
Also, you're diverting attention away from the explanation behind the knowledge. Sanity and willpower? Okay, yeah, there are stories and I'll accept that much. But it's another to recall all that information from books after two years for the sake of doing so, especially when the character in question is attempting to work out an escape plan.

5. The problem here is that the character should not have been able to get to that position in the first place. Something like 'a stone that has something to do with amplifying lightning magic' is, as I assume it to be, a modified lightning catalyst. But simply implanting it in a person should have no lasting effects, and it is in essence just implanted for the sake of being implanted. It would eventually run out, and thus need to be recharged... Which means either removing it to recharge it (which is once again iffy because I would assume that given the prior statements this would be impossible without bodily harm) or exposing the character to electricity. Lots of it.
In which case, well... Then the problem becomes exposure to high-voltage electricity, but right now that's an aside. If it isn't, then it still becomes an issue because at no point have I said that such an object would even exist on the continent at that time.

6. As stated prior, malnourishment is malnourishment. Even if he isn't in peak condition, it's not exactly easy to flee from kidnappers, run all the way to a harbor, then dive off the side of a dock and scale the chains that hold the anchor onto the ship itself. Actually, I'm fairly certain that most children at that age would be unable to do all of that, even with a ton of adrenaline coursing through their veins. Remember, the chains will have to be long as the boat is tall and then some because of the depth of the water at the docks. The boat, given everything it is carrying, will have a height that would still be difficult to surmount.
So in the end, a 14-year-old child who is NOT in peak condition and has not had the chance to train their body freely is, in your form...
Able to run a long distance (minor pass because adrenaline);
Escape to a port town and outrun those who were supposed to guard him;
Dive into the water near the end of the night near one of the most highly-guarded vessels without incident;
Scale what is AT THE VERY LEAST an 80' long chain without incident in the midst of darkness while also having an electrically-charged jewel of some sort embedded within them (given dimensions of a ship from that era, this might still be underselling the height);
Have the energy required to climb on board, then successfully find an empty barrel and, without displacing anything that would make it seem suspicious, hide inside of it.

There's a limit to how far I'm willing to suspend my disbelief, but this is far too over-the-top for me. Still no dice.
@Vec: I had half a mind to be a sarcastic git here, but decided against that for the sake of not getting flamed like a skewer over a spit.

First things first: No underground magicians or anything. Nope. While their existence may be feasible, the existence of such groups would be stomped out quite quickly, given how the humans within were able to survive the years of war. Being politically smart means you handle all problems from within the country just as much as you handle those outside them. Not to mention, well... If an incident like that is happening, intense crackdowns are almost guaranteed. If it happens in the years following war, then the Tawken humans now have the benefit of hiring whatever races are best for detective work, and the problem is solved posthaste. So no.

Following that... This is the launching of a flagship on a symbolic voyage overseas, and thus would be occurring in broad daylight because publicity for publicity's sake. If it was late at night, the ship would likely have already sailed out a few miles, which is impossible for someone who was malnourished and weakened to swim, if they could even do so at all. If it's late at night before the voyage, then it's even worse, since there were (as I mentioned earlier) parties meaning to sabotage the voyage, and thus there would be guards to protect the ship overnight. So that part also fails.

Next: Well... I was about to mention the issue of food and water, and I really can't overlook it. There's a limited supply of food and water on board, and with all the people there I'm fairly certain that people would notice if the stuff that was being rationed started disappearing. Stuff adds up.

Next on the list: Two years of that mess. Two. Years. It's a miracle the kid didn't lose his sanity, much less retain the knowledge that you claim he did over that period of time. He's 14 now. 14. A 12-year-old kid would not retain that sort of information after years of experiments and torture. It's not feasible. Then there's the issue of magical abilities, which I'm not even going to BEGIN to rip apart because then I'd be here for another half an hour explaining why that sort of thing would not only wreck balance, but is unfeasible for the sustainability of the RP itself.

So... Yeah. Complete and utter denial from me. Just... No.
Also, a kid who has been malnourished would likely not be able to survive being capsized and floating out at sea like that. Brittle bones and stuff, combined with weak muscles and a lack of exercise... Nope. Would not live. At all.
@Stekkmen: Further inland, but yeah, that's fine.
Kiiiiinda needing people to post to keep moving. Just saying.
