Timelines are great, and so is a division between the upper and lower classes in Hylo.
So is there a sort of nobility in addition to the Royal Family?
Where does the religion get it's priests? Are they nobility, or do they specifically look for people who could be taught to build and repair Colossi?
What sort of power does the Colossi Priesthood have? They must be in some level of control of the military, if we're going with their role as the technicians in charge of the their mecha.
So priesthood brings some prestige with the upper classes(though, possibly some disdain from the lower in recent years). Imagine poorer, desperate people "selling" their children(after extensive intelligence and aptitude tests) to the priesthood. They would have a better life, and would cease to be a strain on the family. But in return, they are disconnected from(and possibly even completely rejected by) the lower class community that they were born into.
So how does the Hyloan royalty keep their control of the lower classes? Or, maybe they don't. Maybe in the last eight years they have been quickly losing control of the populace, and are resorting to military measures to keep the peace in their own borders.
EDIT: Oh, and what exactly did the Outcast Guild start up for? What's their mission statement, and who started it?
Yes there are lords and ladies, Dukes, Barons etc, its a pretty wide class. There are also select wealthy families who make up the elite class.
The Monks are more like shamans than priests and they are recruited for their historical knowledge, a lot of them spend their days as archeologists, uncovering old statues of the colossi and early mecha designs.
The Hylo empire is the least war damaged of the 3 nations after the great war so most people stay there for the highest standard of lving, But the nation is so proud that it doesnt let any of its citizens in or out of the country (legally) so a lot of people are arrested and killed at the borders. Which instills fear into the citizens. The taxes are also very high which essentially keep most people shackled to the empire.
The Outcast Guild is going to be the faction of the players in this RP, its an Adventurer/Explorer/Mercenary group that represent the fortune reigon as a whole and to keep an eye on disturbances and activites in the area, specifically from the other 3 nations and to learn what they are up to.
