Well hello.
I guess I should introduce myself, huh.
I'm Gardevoiran, just some schmuck going to college and working towards getting a degree in Fine Arts.
I do commissions and what-not, and you can ask me to do a commission for you through my Discord (Gardevoiran #1429) or up here through RPGuild PMs, and I receive donations and payment through my Ko-fi page. Clicking the box right below here will take you to it.
I'm a nerd. I play Pokemon religiously, I dabble in some anime, I write up here, and I love watching incredibly awful movies and just making fun of them. Specifically things like "Leo the Lion" and what not.
I don't have much else to say, so I guess I can leave you guys with a really bad joke.
"What do you call a cow with two legs?" "Lean beef."
"I'm still trying to figure that out, exactly," Eve starts off as she kicks a pebble down the street, keeping a close eye on Jen. "After the Liberation, I was a free phoenix again, able to do what I want, when I want, as long as it kept in accordance with the guidelines of the Harpies."
Eve looks towards the sky to point out a bird. "That's a male bird, you can tell by the feathers on it being more vibrant than normal, yeah? For some odd reason, harpies are a dominantly female race. The males are born very rarely, but are similar to other male birds. They're more like... like... you with wings, than me."
"She... she's probably just stressed, since she was kicked out of her entire life..." Eve smothers her face in your hand before she realizes what she just did. Afterwards, she looks up at you with her face covered in black dust.
"O-oops... didn't mean to do that..." Her face turns red as she walks beside you. She's clearly embarrassed.
"You will learn in time. Come on... Toby." Jen smirks as she leads the way, Eve holding you back so she can talk to you in private.
Once you're far enough away, Eve nudges you slightly, namely on your metal arm. "What... what did she mean by the blood thing, Toby?" She nudges your arm again. "... also... can I see a flame? I'm a little cold..." That last part is hard to believe considering it's easily 80 degrees outside.
You see Jen's face creep into an angry smile before she drops you to the ground, chuckling all the while.
"Ohhh Tobias. You forget that I have had the Light before I joined the Order. It has been my guidance even before I met you. It has never led me astray, and today, I trust it has not either." You see Jen walk over to the tent as she begins dismantling it.
"Our fates are intertwined, Tobias. There's no helping it,"
"You have become my road to redemption,"
"And I will be your shield until that book is destroyed."
You see Jen hold the book of necromancy in her hands, her face straightening back out as she puts it back in her bag. "That circus is on the Southwestern side of the city. We head there, we find Aithwale..." You see Jen hold her hand out as she lifts her tent back up. "... and someone closer to Death than even you."
Eve is hugging you out of fear, looking at Jen with eyes that reek of sadness and pure torment. "I went in there for no more than a minute! What the hell did I miss?!"
The new Paladin vanished in a flash of light while Jen simply falls to her knees, laughing.
"A-HAHAHAHAHAHA!" You hear Eve step out of the tent while Jen is laughing undeniably loud. Eve stands behind you as you watch Jen open her palm out, the golden glow of the familiar Light showing it's radiance to you and Eve. "So this is what you meant by my downfall, my guidance. This is what you meant when it was brought upon by the one closest to you in blood. This is what you meant when you said I would have my chance at redemption."
Jen clenches her hand as she grabs the crate, chuckling to herself. As she puts the crate in her tent, she quickly steps out and looks at you.
"Tobias Skinner. Had I known you were still alive in this world, I would have stayed at least four hundred miles away from you at any time, however, the Light said our paths would cross some day, and it would lead to my downfall. I have been excommunicated from the Order, and while I want to gut you like an animal right now for being the goat of my downfall, I am leaving you where you stand for a single reason." Jen steps up to you and grabs you by the neck, her hand feeling incredibly warm from the heat of the Light illuminating her entire body.
"You and that skeleton are my one ticket to redemption."
"And I am not going to die like the sorry fool the Order thinks I am."
"... the crate holds within it my things that were kept within the halls of the Order's keep, along with an excommunication letter... I had to write one of those, long ago..."
You see Jen walk over to the crate and pick up the lid before she pulls out the small piece of paper within, reading it slowly. Just barely you can see some tears drop from her face onto the page. You can also just barely see Jen smile.
"Tobias, you do not understand. If the order receives information about my true identity, then I will be condemned by the order and proclaimed a heretic. I have worked to earn my rank since we have left Hell, and I am not willing to lose it a-a-a-" Jen stops talking as she sees an authoritative figure standing at the end of the alleyway, behind him one of the paladins who gave you information.
"Johnathan- oh what am I saying, Jennifer Light."
"H-Hello, my lord. W-what is the reason for such a meeting...?"
"... they know. I'm here to deliver you this parcel." The paladin figure walks forward and places a small wooden crate on the ground before proceeding to walk out.
"For what it is worth, I'm sorry."
You see Jen's face melt with sadness. Her eyes are already tearing up.
"And a greetings to the both of you, Lord Harken and Lucifus of the Laguna," Amaterasu's voice remained monotone, staring off towards the other factions as more and more champions greeted her. Those were the two minute champions that had arrived at the time, and both were followed quickly by Deva's own royal guard, Chen Castellum. "Castellum. Interesting to see you are here and not at Deva's side. I trust this means this battle is high-stakes?"
Seeing the circle drawn by Chen, Amaterasu instinctively reacted by staring directly at the beast of the depths that came on the side of Hell. Disgusting. A creature using the essence of darkness trying to seek a victory here, in a sea full of light. How poetic. She should write that down for Tsukuyomi later.
Amaterasu's ear flicked towards Chen at his suggestion to move, and the goddess couldn't argue against it. There was truly no point in sitting around here in this arena whilst the objective is open for the taking. "Agreed, Castellum." Floating in the air, the goddess raised her arm in the air as she summoned a blade made from hardened golden light, as tough as titanium and as solid as a rock.
With that, the goddess floated beside Chen, ready to fight and eager to win.
Bonesword waved silently at his two allies before he noticed the arrival of other combatants. Among the combatants he'd be against, two stuck out the most. The man with the rapier for the Angels, and the Draconic thing that just roared darkness. There were others, such as the goddess of the sun and the armored demon, but those two stuck out the most.
Then Bonesword felt something that he wasn't expecting. Plants, underground, rising up rapidly. That wasn't something he had summoned, nor was it something Charlie was told to do. Gazing around the arena, Bonesword noticed the fellow with the rapier from before creating a barrier of wood above him to protect his allies. "Motherfucker..."
Acting on instinct alone, the skeletal swordsman got into a stance and felt the ground underneath, taking a deep breath before exhaling with a mighty thrust of his hand towards the ravine ahead. Beneath him, the once-thorny-and-deadly brambles that were supposed to impale him and his teammates lifted him off the ground and proceeded to be redirected towards the ravine, carrying Bonesword in the process. Sure, the rain was a bit unpleasant, but the Shooting Star took the damage pretty well before Bonesword was out of the area of effect, surviving with just a little bit left on it's charge.
The skeleton kept his focus up, using the vines as a monorail for him to be carried in front of the opposition, the vines behind him quickly disappearing as Bonesword passed them, Charlie following in tow quickly behind. Looking back towards the opposition, a good twenty feet or so away, Bonesword spoke into his communicator, given to him before the battle had begun.
"Hustle, people, we gotta get a move on before the Demons and Angels get ahead of us, there's no time to be wasted!"
Meanwhile, Charlie poked his head above the ground and revealed a single Vulcan Yew minigun, aimed straight towards Mephilus, and proceeded to fire it while still proceeding into the ravine with Bonesword. Charlie was given more unique orders, but they'd be irrelevant for the time being. Right now, what truly mattered was Bonesword getting ahead of the rest of the opposition.
Details on Appearance: The picture is incredibly accurate for her face, though the black eyepatch she wears is not pictured. Her body is rather lithe and short, with her normal attire consisting of a gray hooded sweatshirt and a pair of jeggings, complete with well worn but comfortable trainer shoes. She's normally seen with a gray backpack filled with a fair amount of random junk, but sometimes has some good stuff. Her voice is slightly higher, but doesn't quite have that voice that you'd find when it comes to a 14 year old girl. She speaks with a feigned northern accent in attempts to mask her southern heritage, and the accent just barely falls short of being believeable.
Personality: Magdalene is a quiet, but headstrong girl, eager to make a difference within the world as she knows it. She's embarrassed of her southern heritage and tries to hide it, but only to avoid the stereotyping of southern folks. She suffers from horrible self esteem due to the mess of her face, but she tries her hardest not to think about it, viewing her imperfection of a face as something that is unique about her. That being said, if someone does treat her face as a gross mess of skin and scar tissue, she shuts-down socially and will just stop talking, sometimes to the point of full-on depressive spells. Otherwise, she expresses an uncanny fondness of exploring and discussing the human body, and she loves animals, save for most Rottweilers.
Skills: (Plus means Major, Minus means Minor) + Medical Skills : Magdalene is a doctor and is experienced in doing surgery. Given the situation the group ahead is presented in, she'll be a bit in a bind with a lack of actual medical supplies, but she can make things work. + Anatomical Knowlege : Magdalene is a quick learner, and can figure out the anatomy of a creature and how it works by observing it in a natural habitat for a decent amount of time. + Encouragement : Magdalene became pretty good at encouraging herself and others as a result of her depressive spells. She hates them and learned how to try and get out of them as a coping mechanism. - Freerunning : Another form of coping, Magdalene was a decent freerunner at one point in her life. Though, it's been a decent amount of time since she last did this. - Cooking : Magdalene is a decent cook, though, she's far from a 5-star chef. - Repairing Tools : Though she's not a miracle worker, Magdalene can actually fix things from time to time if she has the right parts and enough time.
Your Lie: Born to a middle-class household, Magdalene had a pretty decent life up until she was about four years old. One faithful day, the girl approached what seemed like a friendly Rottweiler, and things took a very dark turn very fast. Ambulances were called onto the scene as passerby and parents watched on in horror as this four year old girl was mauled by this Rottweiler. It was terrifying to her parents, but even moreso for the child involved. She had to spend a month in the hospital with bandages coating an entire half of her face, and even once those were off, she had a lot of therapy afterwards in order to help her come to terms with her face being what it was.
Magdalene's educational years weren't great. A lot of kids her age never wanted to talk or associate with her due to her face looking like a horrorshow and a half. This led to a lot of bullying throughout her schooling years, resulting in her therapy sessions being more frequent and her receiving medical permission to occasionally skip school due to depressive spells. The bullying only got worse in high school, where multiple girls began to bully her because of her smaller stature and stunted growth in addition to her facial structure. After a few years, Magdalene gave in and went to her counselors to address the issue. Her bullies would receive legal consequences if they persisted being mean-spirited and mocking of Magdalene. Of course, they wouldn't stop, and of course, two girls were arrested.
After graduation, Magdalene went on to pursue a career in medicine, which had been a passion of hers for a decent amount of time, specifically since her junior-high years. Receiving a number of scholarships due to her conditions and her academic ranking, Magdalene pursued a nigh full-ride to a cheaper, but still good, medical school, where she obtained a degree and became a surgeon. Despite being new to the career force, she is incredibly precise and has an uncanny talent for her line of work.
Misc: - Magdalene has a large first-aid-kit on her at all times, in the case she needs to respond to something on the spot. - Terms have been accepted, maestro.
