You could always have a legion of golems smash said free port to bits.

~quickly checks the CSs in the Characters thread~
Well, I would do, but at the moment we don't have anyone crafting golems for us so we don't have a readily available supply to work with. :P

Wouldn't golems struggle to deal with pirate ships after they've sailed out of port?

You'd only have to foot the bill for a wacky experiment that will most likely explode.

Carmella: "Hmm... ..pay a bill, or sit on the sidelines and watch as my rival's fleet of trade ships is destroyed leaving the way open for me to move in and secure new routes for myself. Decision, decisions..."
Edit: stupid cellphone X__X

What you need is a hyperfast commlink earpiece linked to a dedicated geosynchronous satellite.

Or a carrier pidgeon. That works too. :D
The low people count is due to the fact that about 1/3 of the ship is weapons systems

And another third is power systems for the weapons and cargo bays filled with ammunition?
I see. Tnks for replying to me still, but I think I'll give this one a second look in the future - none of the provinces called out to me as intruiging as a place where reeds give honey and trees grow wool. Bid you all have a jolly time!

That's only because we haven't had a player stake a claim on the coastal province to the west, where the honey reed and wool tree seed have spread over the sea and taken root in the marshes.

As long as it doesn't break what's already been made I wouldn't see a problem with someone coming up with something like that, how anout you @Major Sharpe?

EDIT: There's even an island on the map just south of Pridania still up for grabs where the foreign plants could have been growing for decades without anyone noticing.

If it doesn't get settled soon we might end up with a bunch of pirates building a free port out there to start preying on our naval trade routes, and that certainly wouldn't make the Laurensi very happy.
Except the ones who have shares in the shipbuilding industry.
Interesting, I'm now seeing Kiki being surrounded by a swarm of drones just by Trixie's introduction to the rp. Mostly stealth drones for recon maybe 1 or 2 attack because those would be bulky and harder to miss

Nice idea. The only thing to worry about is that since Trixie's helpers are home built from whatever scrap she can lay her hands on there's a fifty-fifty chance they'll end up not working, or that they'll do something completely different to what she origianlly planned for them.

~coffee making bot starts singing show tunes offkey~
Okay, make that sixty-forty.

If Trixie wants a Hover Bike she'll need custom programs and Kiki can write the simple ones in a few minutes and the more complex in a day or two even giving them special encrypted code security.

The big problem for the bike is the power source. For some reason the bosses don't want to let Trixie start playing with fissionable materials so she can build a limitless, self-sustaining atomic reactor core even if it means she wouldn't have to worry about finding a petrol station in a pinch.
Sent you my CS by PM

Not sharing it with the rest of us..? ~sad pouty puppy dog eyes~ Please..?

I could see Kiki liking her

Kiki being Constantly in touch with tech in her local area if it is electronic in any way

I deliberately made Trixie more skilled at working with mechanical systems, since Kiki already has the electronic ones down. Together they'd be able to strip automated defence off an installation in seconds. :D

Makes sense to me. Let's say Laurensia initially proposed the pact, and was largely responsible for mediating the discussions.

From Lauensia's history, on my CS, they've been sending tradered and merchants into the wild woods for years trying to find opportunities for profit. Looks like one of them finally managed to make it back out alive, and in good enough shape to want to go back for more.

While they were involved the 'mediations' would've been a little more like:
"See this nice sharp, shiny sword? I'll give it to you if you give me some of those worthless stones your people dig up out of the ground. And if you promise not to stab me with it."
Laurensi Trader
By the time Maxie became invovled there would've been a good line of communication with the tribe, from the string of merchants seeing their competition colleagues returning with gems overflowing from their pockets and stampeding their way into the jungle to see if they could get in on the action.

When the Crown found out what was happening Vulmar would most likely have quickly prompted King Childeric to make a formal alliance with the tribe, before the Laurensi did something to soil the waters.

Well, armored knights will be more common in Vrenal I think. The steel and what not mined in the mountains near Vrenal, and enough blacksmiths with the knowledge to make fully armored knights a regular.

Not just knights. Anyone with enougth money to pay a blacksmith could get themselves a suit of armour, and if the province was always warring with the Aborim tribes that would be seen as a necessity in their lands for people wanting to get involve in the fight and make a name for themselves.

Also, not forgetting the metals provided by the Kam. The Vrenal would have a good reason to keep the trade routes open for the tribe if they made use of metals provided from them to make stronger, alloyed armours.
@OliveYou She loves the Birthed! Or more accurately, their tech, and takes every opportunity she can get to study and analyse them as she would any other piecfe of equipment.

Having said that, she still sees them as people too, and isn't above playing pranks on them any more than she does with anyone else she thinks she can get away with pulling them on.
