Nyame was dragged with surprising strength into the great building, and through some halls. The unlikely pair finally entered a great chamber that was mostly filled with a dragon. Nyame knew that this was the greatest mage in the Academy. He stood tall and put his staff forward, tapping it loudly on the ground to show his respect. The small one, meanwhile, was dropping low to the ground.
"Why do you make yourself smaller?" Nyame asked, but he was grabbed by the wrist again and pulled to the ground. He might have resisted, but the creature's strength always seemed to take him off guard.
Frostbite's actually the best person to deal with what's going down outside.
He absolutely mistakes Zmerr as a child.
Sin appeared in the shadow left by Little Brother's cloak, and he stepped away to rejoin the battle, utilizing both his staff and the cord on his belt. He rushed into a group of three who were close together, only one of whose attention was on him. He struck the first on the chin with his staff, and threw his line around the third, pulling him into the second and knocking them all to the ground in short order.

When Vaeros approached, Torch appeared to be cutting a hole in the wall, his hands were elbow deep in the wall, a bright glowing circle of molten brick and steel and burning drywall nearly complete. He didn't even stop to look at Vaeros when he issued his challenge, and instead said, "No thanks." There were two thugs nearby with fire extinguishers, apparently ready to stop the whole building from going up while they were still inside it, and they turned the nozzles on Vaeros and blasted him. As he was covered with freezing foam, one of them rushed forward and swung his extinguisher as a weapon at him.

The anchor sailed past Tank as he tossed the second table. As Anchor pulled it back, it caught his foot and pulled him over. He bent double on the ground and grabbed a hold of the anchor, pulling it viciously back toward him.

Something was happening outside. It was unnoticeable at first, but by the time people realized it was too late. A thin gray-green powder started to coat the ground, floating gently down, coming from somewhere in the crowd. The people gathered around, police, newspeople and rubber-neckers all, were already lethargic. A police officer was rushed to the SWAT truck and started handing out gas masks, not bothering to put one on himself in his rush. He gave out seven before he collapsed heavily and fell out the back of the truck. Others were following suit, while civilians(and some cops) simply fled the area.
Oh, and I've posted at you, Zmerr.
Some leagues away, a beam of light struck the ground, and dissipated to reveal a proud Leonin standing with a staff.
The Star Callers of the Libaxa Plains had their own method of traveling long distances quickly, though the Starlight Roads had to be mapped further with the addition of the world outside of the Plains. Nyame had traveled as far as possible this way, but for reasons he wasn't quite sure of, the Roads were incapable of getting close to the Academy. From this point, he was forced to walk, and as he did so he started to see why he couldn't get any closer. The stars were a cacophony of wrongness. He saw constellations and formations he recognized, but some of them didn't belong in the sky at this time of year, and some were unfamiliar entire. And, worst of all, there was an extra moon in the sky, larger than the normal one, and impossibly royal blue. Nyame was glad the moon was in the crescent phase, he wasn't sure he would be able to handle too many moons if they were all full. There was already far too much power coming down from the sky, and he didn't know what could be done with any of it. He knew he should have expected more magic here than he had ever seen, but to see it tear the sky asunder was truly mind numbing.

There was nothing to be done, and this is exactly the reason he had accepted an invitation to come here. He walked on.

He was very close now, and could see the front gates open and inviting, but smoke in the sky distracted him. It was wild, too great a plume to be a camp fire or a community fire. He knew the patterns, brush fires were not unheard of in his home. Nyame began running, his powerful long legs carrying him fast across the ground to where green flames engulfed a low, wooden and straw building. A small being was running frantically, Nyame guessed he was seeking help and moved to stand in front of him.

"Small one, what has happened?"
It's not your computer, it's the site. It's been happening to me too.
I do have a question about what's going on with the sky in your opening post? Is the school in a different plane, or are we just getting glimpses of other planes?

Also: How many moons are there?

Any interesting astronomical quirks?

I kinda need to know this stuff.
Okay, Winter, Little Brother is making a shadow for Sin to port to. I'll wait until tonight for you to post, if you don't I'll just add a little bit about her teleporting up in my post when I make it.
I've edited my first post to contain a CS now, I hope it's acceptable.

I was wondering if you had any specifics about the astronomy of this world? As it might be important to my character.
