Shock staff out to be under strength, but other than that, you're good.
Do you have an idea of how your character will be introduced? Will she just be working for Dren on Korriban as a laborer? Or do you have another way of putting her with the others?
Oh, I'll tell you something. If you mean to use a double bladed saber, you might give her skill with a shock staff now, instead of blaster. That could be her defensive weapon of choice, and you can convert that skill to saber fighting when she gets one.
That's a little meta-gamey too, but at a more acceptable level.
What does duel wield mean in game terms? Which is to ask: when would you roll for "duel wield" rather than "blaster"(or whichever combat skill is applicable)? I just sort of see it as a superfluous skill, where the points could be put somewhere better.
There's already two characters who come pre-made with Force training, so I'm going to say no on that aspect, as the characters were supposed to be fresh apprentices and those aforementioned characters were already special cases. And with that being the case, it would not make sense for literally all of her skills to be Jedi related. What's more, that puts her easily above everyone else in combat situations, which is very meta-gamey.
Whichever side you intend to join, you won't be a part of it already when you introduce your character. The RP has already started, so we don't want to shoehorn new characters in with retcons saying they were always there.
TheUnknowable wrote the Sith backstory and is in general control of that Order. If you go to the OOC, he has the second post which has information for that.
But to answer your question, the Sith are small like the Jedi, but unlike Palpatine they don't have established lines of power that are helping them with their goals. Right now, they're working under the guise of an archaeologist and his workers at a dig on Korriban. Most of the people there are just hired laborers, there are two apprentices(there's a third who is off world doing other errands).
@ArcaneUnit You would need a proper CS, we're freeform about it other than the stats and skills section. My CS on the first post is a general model(though you should be warned that the stats in that CS are out of date).
As for power tiers, all Apprentices start with the same stat points to allocate, and you can grow in power and skill as the RP goes on. So there isn't really an upper level, and a n/10 measurement would be meaningless.
If you want to apply(both of you) send a CS to me through PM. Be sure to read everything in the first two posts of the OOC. You can skip the "beta battle," and the "npc" sections, though.
Ever since watching Fury Road I've been wanting a Mad Max RP. In fact, I can't help but see that this is a reboot of one that fell through. So I imagine you have some plot ready made as well, yes?
Does this happen after and in the same canon as the events of the movie? And how long after the apocalypse is this?
I've started up a bit of a CS, assuming that you would use the same one from the old thread.
Name: Thomas Morhaime Nickname: Tommy Scissors, shortened to Tom Siz or even just Siz. What you were: Hairdresser. What you have become: What remains of your sanity: Mostly sane. Like most survivors, though, whatever once held him back from violence is long since broken.
Appearance: 5'11 and thinly built, but strong. Has a thin face and dark eyes. Keeps his head shaved, but lets his brown and red beard grow long and luxurious. He likes to braid and oil it before battle, so that it's neat and shiny. It will be caked with dirt and ash by the end of the fight, and cleaning it is part of his victory ritual. He wears a thin, much patched jacket that has hard plates sewn into it for armor. It's many colored for all the patches, and some of the plates still have paint from whatever they came from. Old worn combat boots and rugged sturdy beige pants.
Personality: A simple man, he wants a place of his own again. He will do any damn thing to have it, and to keep it. Friendly until given a reason to behave otherwise, he has a quiet temper. A cold anger that can build in him but never show on the outside until he lashes out. Those closest to him can read it, and act accordingly whether that means taking him away from the situation, or goading him, or simply standing aside to let him erupt. In contrast to his violent temper, he is a deeply compassionate man. But, like said temper, it is a trait that won't show through his stoic facade. He will act for it, but seem disinterested while doing so. For instance, he might hand his canteen to a child, but seem to do so without kindness, just perfunctorily. History:
The engine was ripped out of an old plane and welded haphazardly onto the car's chassis. A more robust gear box was needed to handle the engine, as well as a larger gas tank and between the two there's no more room in the back seat of the car. The front seats are from different cars, don't match, and are upholstered with scavenged textile scraps. The gear shifter is topped with a miniature metal fist. The trunk(in the front of this model of car) is open to the cab, so that one could climb up under the dashboard and lay on their belly in the trunk to operate the machine gun(taken from the same old war bird as the engine) that's been mounted there. It can be fired in three ways: 1) The barrel pokes through a slit in the hood and the operator times their shots for when the driver lines up their sights. They can yell orders into the cab. 2) The hood can be opened to allow the gun to swivel and aim freely. This sacrifices the driver's vision in favor of the gun operator's firing line. 3) A cord can be run from the trigger to the driver seat, allowing the driver to pull the trigger without having to leave the wheel. This allows the driver to operate the car's weapon platform alone, but also splits their attention and takes up one of their hands.
Weapon of choice (see weapons above): Specialty (see above for possibilities 2 only): Other:
Soon the Yit was in hyperspace, on as direct a route to Korriban as was possible. David had found himself unsurprised to discover that an archaeologist had a pet project there. One Siador Dren. It was suspicious, but even Huleez had been unable to discover anything when trying to farsee. But that didn't mean much. Korriban was so steeped in the Dark Side that it would obscure any attempts to discern it.
Even so, David was suspicious, and he wanted to play cautiously. He would stay aboard the ship at first, as his Padawans disembarked under the pretense of filling job openings at the dig. Someone knew his face, he hoped they didn't know anyone else's.
As the ship descended, David left the controls to Arthur and went to the ship's common room to see his apprentices off. They were dressed inconspicuously, no robes here. Even Huleez who dressed in Mirialan clothes most of the time was garbed as a spacer. She looked uncomfortable in her clothes, or perhaps it was the blaster rifle slung across her back that unnerved her. David had wanted at least one of them to take up a security position, so they could get a bigger picture of the operation. Huleez was far and away the worst choice in most regards, but she was the best shot with the rifle, and he needed someone who could shoot straight if he hoped for her to actually get the job.
"Alright," David said to them. "I don't know exactly why we're looking for. A Gungan would be a nice start. We'll need to trust in the Force. Feel, don't think. Come back to the ship to report to me, no comms in case they're intercepted. You're ready." The last part was a confident declaration rather than a question.
Watching kids play is all I'm aiming for right now. Though if you have a slot you'd like filled I could probably work up the motivation for that.
No, I don't have any roles that need to be filled, but you're welcome to apply if you develop a sudden inspiration to join. We're probably going to stay open.
