Auldus Vull walked between trees on a chill, misty morning. This was the Pine Barrens, and though the sun was coming up, it was only just peaking through the branches, and doing nothing to dispel the cold. He was dressed as he ought to be, in a thick woolen coat, with a fur lined neck and hood. His long hair was braided and tied back, neatly but without much care for looks. He stopped walking, but said nothing as more figures emerged from behind trees and out of the mist.

The largest figure, an overwhelmingly tall, barrel chested man, preempted his companions, “Auldus, it doesn’t have to go this way,” his voice was tremulous and beseeching, “It’s not too late, you can put things right still.”

“Max… you know that’s not true,” a much smaller man spoke. His voice was controlled, if barely, and he couldn’t seem to look long into Max’s anguished face.

“No more talk,” a woman spoke up, her voice hard with fury. She was almost as tall as Max, but leaner and fiercer looking. She held her hand before her and called her keyblade. It was simple and deadly looking.

“Valery . . .” the man started, but Auldus had finally spoken as well.

“No more talk,” he echoed, calling his keyblade in turn. It was long and silver finished, with delicate scrollwork and lettering etched halfway up the blade. The rest of the assembled Masters took their cue to arm themselves. Max, looked at his companions miserably and called his own.

Auldus didn’t move from his spot, but simply raised his keyblade, and dropped it down again. Red flashes burst from the trees behind him, sending bolts of light flying at the men and women aligned opposite him. Many of the Masters went down in the first volley. The man in the center of the crowd called up a magic barrier to protect himself and Max, while Valery charged at Auldus, swiping the bolts aside with her keyblade as she ran. She left herself open as she raised her blade above her head to strike, and took a blast to her left side. Her right side kept working, however, and brought a blow down on Auldus. He parried it, and allowed the black armored men emerging from behind him to finish her off with their strange, light emitting weapons. He didn’t look at her as she fell.

The rifles of the troopers couldn’t penetrate the barrier protecting Max and his friend, so Auldus called a magical lightning from the sky. It arched around the barrier, and cracked it, letting the red bolts in to strike the last two masters. With the battle at an early end, Auldus called the troopers to a halt, and bid them return to their vessel. He watched as they left, and when they were gone, he set to work. Most of the Masters had died already, and their keyblades had vanished, but Max and his companion lived, and Auldus rushed to them to perform his experimental spells. In a moment, he had their keyblades in a cage of light, with what looked like miniature suns at its corners. He smiled at it, but his smile slipped off his face as he looked at his old comrades on the ground.

“Fade away, Stefan. Maximus was right, it didn’t have to end like this. I offered you all a place in my kingdom. But that is in the past now. It’s over.”

Stefan glanced at Maximus. Though he had ceased to breath, his keyblade hadn’t given up its physical form. He glowered back up at Auldus, his body shaking with the pain of his death.

“I promise you,” he said, “It’s not over.”

Auldus raised an eyebrow, but didn’t have the chance to stop the flood of incantations that Stefan let out. He raised his hands to ward off the spell, but nothing happened, and when he looked back down, Stefan had indeed faded away. Auldus cast a spell after all, bidding the earth to swallow up the Masters who had been his brothers and sisters once. He would have marked their graves, but none of this would be here by sundown. He moved on.

It is a dream. Or, it should be, the last thing you remember was going to bed, but this feels like the real world. It doesn't look like it, though. Though you can't see sky, there are no walls either. It is just infinite blackness as far as you can see in all directions but down. Down is the floor, a floor of stained glass. It is a circle, divided into wedges. Two of the wedges are dark, but the lit ones depict men and women, robed magnificently and holding strange weapons. You are standing directly on one of these wedges, and you can see others standing on the other glowing sections.

Of the two dark wedges, only one has a person standing on it. Unlike all of the others, the man standing here is the same as the one depicted in the dark slice he stands on. His segment of the glass is dark, but he produces his own ethereal glow. He looks strained as he looks around at you all.

“The darkness is coming. You of strong will are here to resist it.” He lifted one hand, palm up and with the fingers almost clawlike. As he did this, the strange weapons in the glass display rose up, becoming solid and three dimensional. “Will you accept my call? Will you end this unnatural empire?”
OOC looks like this.
This will be alternate reality, so no canon characters and few canon events exist/are relevant. Like the original timeline, it begins with a handful of the last of the Keyblade Wielders, the difference being the exact cast of characters, and therefore their actions and fates.

The order of Keyblade Masters has always had a policy of non-interference in the many worlds that make up all of reality. When one such master decides that this rule hinders him and his plans, he makes an enemy of his former comrades. Auldus Vull traveled among other worlds, making allies and forging alliances between powerful figures. Many worlds have prospered from the inter-world trade that he has allowed to exist, but some have been put under harsh rule of the governors that Auldus has set up. And a few of the worlds he has visited were consumed by the Darkness, and vanished from existence.

Auldus Vull has trafficked in darkness, but remains largely uncorrupted, as he allows his subordinates to get closer to it than he ever does. He gives knowledge of the Heartless, and how to control them, to his more brutal governors. Auldus himself, however, prefers to surround himself with guards and soldiers borrowed from the worlds under his de-facto rule.

Our story begins when he personally attends to the world of Sunrise City, where our heroes are from. It is here that what is left of the Keyblade Masters finally catch up with Audlus Vull, and try to destroy him. Unfortunately, they are no match for him and the hardened killers that he brought with him from A Galaxy Far Far Away. They all fall, leaving Auldus as the only Keyblade Master. Auldus tries to usurp the keyblades of his fallen former friends, but his own experiments with the nature of these weapons only allowed him to save two. The others dissolved away to somewhere that Auldus would not find them until he least wanted to. Auldus lamented only briefly, but considered the isolation of two keyblades to be a triumph. He continued with his business on Sunrise City, but unlike most of the worlds he visited, he made no attempt to make himself known to any of the locals, as he considered none of them to be of any use or importance to him.

His condescension may turn out to be his doom, however. The keyblades that he lost find their way into the hands of a group of young novices from Sunrise City, who use them to escape their world’s fate, and seek revenge and justice on Auldus Vull.

I’m not sure how many people we are looking for, but there’s the opening write up.

We will be visiting only, or almost only, worlds that have not been seen in Kingdom Hearts yet(Brave, Frozen, Treasure Planet, and yes, in case you missed it above, Star Wars), unless I decide that one of the others would be perfect for our plot needs.

I’m trying to find a middle ground between railroading the plot(obviously bad) and allowing the characters to drive it(better, but which presents its own problems). So to this end, I will try to have multiple possible paths that the players can go, but also will be taking the individual characters into account with planning. My CS will include a “Plot hook” which would be, not necessarily something that your character has going on now(as their world has been destroyed, so it’s not like they have a personal quest to be getting on at the moment) but which is a direction you’d like them to go, or something you’d like to see them accomplish. With this I hope to weave a plot that works for everyone.

CS:

Name:
Age: 12-17
Appearance: Though I’m generally not fussy how you do this, I may ask for a new picture just because I don’t like it aesthetically.
Keyblade:
Fighting Style/specialty: Obviously your character has no martial experience yet, but that will change in short order. Let me know where you plan to take them for this. Don't try to make them do too much, this is a specialty.
Background: Your character’s story is ahead of them, not behind them, so you don’t need to give them a whole novel’s worth of exposition. Just give us an idea of what sort of person they are, what sort of background and upbringing they come from.
Plot Hook: What would you like to see for your character? How can I, as the GM, give you some intrigue that will work well for them?
No, or sort of. It's my character, I didn't include any plot hooks because I don't plan to put too much focus on her. So I guess NPC isn't too inaccurate.

@Archmage MC I'm going to have to keep my original ruling.
Captain Marvel was dogpiled by clones of Multiplus, nearly dragging him to the ground. The clones grappled him, holding onto shoulders and arms, and he thought one might even be biting his ankle. The Captain strained to rise off of the ground, having some difficulty with the weight of so many extra bodies. He floated, his feet coming a few feet off the ground, and then called out to the sky. Despite the clear day, lightning struck from out of nowhere, coursing through the Captain, and into the clones who were latched onto him . Most let go, one was paralyzed by the strike and his muscles kept him rigidly holding onto Captain Marvel's shoulders. The Captain grabbed him and threw him unceremoniously back into the pile of Multiplusses.

"No one can say I didn't give you a chance," Captain Marvel said, both his voice and his eyes crackling with lightning. He lifted his hand, and brought it back down, calling more bolts of lightning, one then another, and still one more.

Captain Marvel: 9 [-6 from the dog pile]
Multiplus: 1 [-4 from lightning storm]
@RokkuHoshi The background is gonna have to be cut a bit short here. He would be swallowed up by the darkness as the world ends, much like Sora in the beginning of the first game. Next thing he jnkws, he's being pulled roughly onto the deck of a ship and dragged into a cabin cramped with others.

The RP will start with a dream sequence like those in the games, and that is where the keyblade will come to him.

Okay, assuming changes are forthcoming, we will get kicked off tomorrow. I am in PM talks with one other fella, but I can insert him later if need be.
@RokkuHoshi Yeah, lemme see a CS and we can get that worked out.

One more CS(whether Rokku's or someone else's) and I'll make the OOC, and the IC as well.
@Gisk

I don't want any characters having prior experience, but here's what we can do: magic is a sort of lost art in Sunrise, And the Magi are a group dedicated to rediscovering its secrets.

This keeps their nature essentially the same, without allowing your character too much of a leg up. We can also say that his theoretical knowledge of magic helps him use it with much greater ease when he gets his keyblade.

@Gisk Can I RP as a sentient Heartless with a keyblade? Something sorta like... (Mostly making this up as heartless lore is extremely poor) Heartless that started to turn on other heartless to get their hearts, maybe after finding a keyblade or something of that sort. And the keyblade finding made them sentient. Or just being alive long enough before figuring out that its much faster to get hearts from other heartless, which gave them more sentience, or something. Not sure how much of the KH stuff works beyond 2 or 358/2 and I'm tired. I'll prob have something more coherent if your up for the idea.

Of course they are a bit ashamed of being a heartless, so they hide it from everyone. Would be a neat plottwist down the line.

I don't think that will work, only like one heartless has ever kept their normal form, and we don't know why. Plus, it takes a strong heart to wield a keyblade, and a heartless is a heart that has succumbed to the darkness, I just don't think it meshes.
