First things first, the idea is not dissimilar to TJByrum's own three months ago, so I do plainly realize that this is hardly an unique idea. I like the Game of Thrones universe but unlike some other writers on this site (of few I have met), I am not as familiar/comfortable as I'd like to be with roleplaying it in any capacity. I was introduced to concurrent/sandbox roleplays a few years ago and I think they have the potential to be the right "mode" so to speak for a concept roleplay like this one. With a few of my previous commuted roleplays seemingly dying I thought I'd see if I could get any bites for this sort of thing. As this is sort of a 'workshop' sandbox, I'm open to ideas, advice, suggestions and the like.

This is the known world and it has seen many changes over the course of nearly three-thousand years of recorded history. The roleplay’s concept is to be central to the continent in the top-left—Orlandis; a place that is very reminiscent of medieval central Europe (Terijas, Gradiar, Reinoa, Veronia, Euritia), Iberia (Antari, Caeli), and Scandinavia (Perhyr, Skavia, Erayis). The kingdoms you see above you were once comprised of many petty kingdoms several hundreds of years ago. The last time Orlandis was unified was over three-hundred years ago (which brought the independent realms as you see them). There is no “Iron Throne” or equivalent as there has nobody strong enough to conquer the realm as you see it. I have a brief timeline if I get enough interest and such.

However, I’ve left only “so much” defined such as: religion, ethnicity, and a degree of history. So there’s a lot of room for a writer to forge.

I can also answer any individual questions on top of hearing out suggestions and thoughts, of course.

As a sandbox roleplay, I don’t want to demand people to all be “kings” as the flavor of the world’s development as a roleplay should show a lot of different walks of life. There could be a sellsword story you want to tell, a political upheaval arc, or something that your imagination has thought about that aren’t those two clearly.

As GM my role outside of telling my own stories, will be helping guide the setting with events from non-playable actions as I doubt we need to have a writer for each individual country. I love multiple perspectives and throwing something out there.

What you write may affect others and what I write likely will as well. This isn’t an authoriatian show, everybody can create a possible outcome that affects things around them. If a former crowned prince is suddenly off in the Atularis Ocean hunting down slavers then there is a likelihood that somebody will hear about it and somebody important will hear about it and so on.

Of course player-on-player interaction is encouraged, etc.

I'm trying to think what else I should say in a general interest check that I might of missed outside of big info stuff a thread's OOC would have.

So.. yeah, there you go?

You guys know you can use hiders for spoilers if you're that worried, right? =p
I wish I would've kept my braces for a little longer than I did; got 'em off early. Just one of the few poor dental choices I made.

Anyway, posted at the church POV. I miss anybody, let me know.
St. Albert's Catholic Church, Basement Level

Will rolled his eyes at the people talking at him and volunteering him to explore the place. “I’ll stay here… in case we get overrun.” He commented though the truth of the matter was that Will didn’t want to make noise and if other people were he wanted to be near an exit. He didn’t care about anybody or anything else other than survival.

Looking up to Henry and Fleur, “You two be careful up there.”

Peter Simpson sighed at Will as he shuffled his hands in his pockets before looking to Matthew and Connie. “Good thinking, kid.” He stated as the comment about using the laptops light was better than anything he had. The only flashlight he could recall himself having had died about a week back and that was in his car a few miles down so it was good that they had somebody thinking of light.

Turning his glance to Connie, he smiled widely. While she was useful, the power was dead in the entirety of downtown right now so Peter wasn’t sure how much she could be utilized. But he liked the company for sure. “Let’s go take a look then.”

It was then the three would go into the dark basement to make out a desk and a radio of somesort. Peter was thankful, though it seemed that the radio had a distinct lack of ‘working’ when they approached it. The desk outside of that was filled with some shipping manifests as well as an old broom leaning against it. Otherwise it looked like most of the basement had been ransacked: the drawers and file cabinets were empty of useful tools and there were no batteries to be found or anybody alive… or dead.

“Damn it, it’s broken.” Peter sighed before he looked over to Connie and handed her the radio; “Is there a way you can fix this thing?”

In the dark, even with the laptop light would make it difficult to do anything with the radio.
St. Albert's Catholic Church, Main Floor

Richard Levitski kept his wits about himself as he looked to Ellie. This is why he wanted to become a police officer—protecting people. “Richard… my names Richard.” He divulged, earlier he had only been designated as ‘Officer Levitski’ but here he gave his name out to the girl, maybe to reassure her or simply because in high school he was never any good with girls. It was no different now, even with his police academy training and the week of duty he had gone through—that same knot he’d feel in his stomach was present now.

“You don’t have to worry about anything.”

Whilst Officer Levitski talked to the girl, Will on the other hand was going through the motions of the church itself—double checking the bathrooms for any sort of items—but the only thing he found was a matchbox and a glass cup; he took the matchbox.

“Checking out the Kitchen, Levitski.” Will said with a complete lack of care.

“Alright, be on alert.” Levitski said as he diverted his attention from Ellie for a brief moment.

As Will passed by one of the women—the scientist girl who had commented earlier, he spoke again. “Keep an eye on the windows, we need to pay attention if anything is coming.” The comment felt more of an order as he passed her and went into the Church’s kitchen area.
I'll certainly get a post up soon.

Also, that last episode pissed me off with the Cersei/ Jaime thing because it completely is out of character for him to do what he did. He didn't do it in the book, and he was disgusted at when it happened to the Targaryen women. The fuck, HBO.

I'd say you could maybe stretch it and chalk it up to his selfishness and his altered state of mind.

I'll stick to my banana milkshakes, its abit early for one, but what the hell.*notices IC post count went up**pops party popper**throws confetti*I'm really itching to post xD

Feel free to post, nearly an entire day has passed OOC since your last post so it's not like you are speed posting or refusing others interaction. They had ample time. We have to keep the RP active as a priority. =)
I think it is best if we make it blatant:

1) your character is in the church, you can craft how they ended up there.
2) if you are not with the party the likelihood of your survival becomes difficult, as the GM has stated. This is a group survival roleplay.

Honestly I should of stated this when we have our first "different" POV.

Your characters backstory is important, but right now lets look forward and not backward.

Double Edit: I suggest people don't worry about their backstories, just focus at what's at hand. We're introducing ourselves then going to search the church for stuff.

DING DING DING we have a winner! Exactly this.

Alright folks, just a quick announcement. Everyone hold off on doing their first IC post until Gowi does his. Mine was more plot "set-up" and his will actually put all the characters together. This means that your first post will be: how did you get there, and what to do now that you're in this place with all these other people. This was just an idea that Gowi and I had while discussing the RP, and I feel it'll make everything easier for us to have a single starting area.

This is being quoted because of peoples insistence of starting in different locations when this starts out linear and not a sandbox roleplay.
Speaking from the NPCs sense: the church was in the right place at the right time as well as having an armed police officer taking charge and much less overcrowded as the bars nearby and the giant park across the street. =P

I picked the church because I preferred it over duplicating Outbreak (setting it in a bar) and other examples.
