Don't go doing anything too dramatic, I have plans for her that can't be interrupted. :3
@Dirty Pretty Lies

Is that so, hmmm?

Maybe... maybe not.
If it's only going to get worse (better?) Then perhaps it's best for him not to see her until later. More shock value. XD
@Narcotic Dollie

Clo's wearing that? Oh boy, RIP Jar if he sees that, it will be the death of him.

Mmm-mmm.

Early morning sunlight glinted off of the phone’s reflective screen. Béatrix stared down at the piece of technology as it it had offended her. Sending that message was foolish, she shouldn’t have done it; Yet there she sat, apprehensively waiting on his response like a schoolgirl that just admitted to liking her crush. The phone buzzed after a few moments passed, somehow managing to surprise the vampire.

The number on the screen was the same one that she had just sent the message to. Her still heart seemed to jump up into her throat. Maybe it wasn’t him, maybe she’d sent the message to some confused stranger because she didn’t remember the number correctly. Deep inside she knew that wasn’t the case, her memory was about as sharp and precise as it could get - which was both a blessing and a curse.

Trixy opened the message to see a lovely photo of the moon. Her nature led her to prefer the night, that was something the two unlikely soulmates did have in common. ”You are my moon, Trixy. No matter the distance, we are always together.” Her eyes widened after reading the caption, the romantic overtones and raw honesty were jarring. Trixy felt the familiar urge to bolt in the other direction, even if he was an ocean away. She looked away from the phone and let out a deep exhale, trying to remember her grandsire’s advice, and the comfort she found with the Delacroix last night. This was supposed to be a new beginning... no more running.

Smirking, Béatrix clicked the reply button. The cold woman wasn’t quite warmed up to the idea of gushy romance, but she could handle witty flirtatious banter. “Your moon? That best not be a pale joke.” she replied with a silly face emoji. Yes, the 630 year old vampiress is hip enough to use and enjoy emojis. After sending the response, Trixy set the phone down and stood up to face the peaceful morning.

In that moment, she felt so free. It made her want to feel alive again. Despite only wearing her flimsy nightie, the vampire climbed up onto the railing of her balcony. Her pedicured toes gripped the metal as she held out her arms crucifix-style and stared down the plummet to the forest below. The chilly morning wind tossed her hair about and swept the silk nightgown taught against her skin, revealing every bump and curve beneath it.

Her breath caught in her throat. She was almost there, almost alive. The winds grew stronger, yet her supernatural balance kept her anchored to the rails. But what if it didn’t? What if she let the wind take her? The idea was so irresistible that she did just that. When the next gust came, Trixy didn’t fight it, she simply let herself fall.

Exhilarating.

Euphoric.

There weren’t accurate enough words to describe the feeling. Falling made her feel human again, it awoke those primal urges to preserve her life. She wasn’t alive, of course, and she would land unscathed when this was all over, but in that moment she let the intoxicating feeling overtake her.

It was over all too soon. Béatrix landed on bent legs and her left hand with grace that would make cats themselves green with envy. Adrenaline was coursing her veins, awakening the predator within. Her blue eyes peered into the woods searching for the nearest heat signature. Upon seeing what looked like a large-sized deer a half a mile out, her muscles coiled underneath her porcelain skin and sprung her into action. Feeling very much alive and free, Trixy tore through the woods in search of her prey.

Anyone who knew her wouldn’t recognize the vampire wearing her skin. This wasn’t Madame Vengeance, nor Wolfsbane, this was a new Trixy. She all but giggled as she frolicked through the private wooded area in nothing but her silky sleepwear. So caught up in the chase, the normally vigilant vampire had her guard down. She didn’t sense the figure trailing her. She didn’t smell him. She didn’t register his thoughts, and she didn’t hear the sharp whistle of a projectile heading her way until it was too late.

Thppt!

The sound was punctuated by a sharp pain at the nape of her neck. Heat blossomed around the tip of needle as she stumbled gracelessly. Trixy clawed at what felt like fire on the back of her neck, managing to retrieve the dart that injected her. Confused, she stared down at it. Whatever was in the vial was now coursing in her bloodstream. Vervain? Holy water? Liquid silver? It didn’t really matter now… The edges of her vision started to get blurry. Her limbs grew cold and heavy, pulling her farther down. It felt like the earth was trying to swallow her in a mouth made of molasses. She was drowning, she couldn’t swim out this. Her eyelids fluttered until everything went black...

and then, there was nothing at all.

@Argetlam350
I'll post tonight after work. And he's really handsome.
@Remipa Awesome

Jar right now:

"My b, bro?" *nervous chuckle*

But for real tho, please tell me Hunter came in BEFORE Jar got dressed. Because the mental image of Hunter losing his shit on a towel-clad Jar making this face (D:) has me rolling with laughter.

The faerie very intentionally added some extra swaying of her hips as she made her way over to the warlock, drink in hand. The foreign alcohol had succeeded in not only burning her throat, but now it made all of her insides feel warm and tingly. Morgie raised his hand and gave her a small wave. ”Hey, Kiara. Glad you made it,” he said.

Briefly she wondered if he meant that, but shrugged that off. If he didn’t mean it now, she would make sure that he meant it by the end of the night. Kiara lost her balance for a second, resulting in her plopping down on the couch beside him rather ungracefully. Giggles bubbled up in her throat as she did so. “My, my, this stuff hits much harder than mead.” she remarked, her stoney complexion flushed with the effects of the alcohol. Faerie mead was the most popular drink in Faerün. It was a sickeningly sweet honey wine - but that is how the fey loved it- and it was often used as a means to trap humans.. No foreigner can return from Faerün if they partake of any faerie food or drink, but that was neither here nor now...

Kiki smiled at Morgan before tucking her foot up underneath her butt and settling to get comfy in the couch next to him. “What are you drinking?” she asked before peeking into his cup and observing the clear liquid. Kiara sat back and gave him a look of judgement. “That best not be what I think it is! I mean, I get that water is kind of your thing and all but--” her eyes lit up a sparkling yellow at the realization of what she just said. “Oh! Make something pretty with it, please! For me?” She asked and fluttered her eyelashes faster than hummingbird’s wings. Expecting that he would oblige and demonstrate a little show of magic, she went to excitedly clap her hands and forgot that she was holding a cup, and spilled a small amount of whiskey on herself which only served to bring on another burst of giggles.
For those of you who are new to the RP, when I write a Jar post and there are random sections of text centered and italicized, those are song lyrics. Being a musician, Jareth often thinks in terms of songs and music, and sometimes the lyrics I post are what is actually going through his mind. Sometimes they just fit the mood well.

If you're curious, those most recent lines were the intro to this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjOSydtI38Q

“Hello Jar,” Clover spoke in her soft soprano tone, an obvious attempt at being cordial. Her voice used to be a soothing balm on his soul, and in that moment, it felt like salt in his wounds…. three-month-old wounds that he had thought he’d long since treated with the help of his therapist. 'Relationships turn sour sometimes, that is a part of the dating culture. It is not always one person’s fault, or the other’s, often times it’s nobody’s fault. Some things aren’t meant to be, and we can’t internalize it when they aren’t, it isn’t good for us.' Wendy was always so careful with her words, and sometimes her shrink-talk actually helped. In the first few weeks after the breakup Jar was a mess, but now that 3 months had passed, he thought he had started to move on.

“I’m here with a couple of friends,” she broke the awkward silence since Jareth was still stunned speechless. Meanwhile, Jar fought the urge to move that adorable lock of hair behind her ear like he used to, and let his thumb linger on the freckled skin of her cheek. He remembered how soft her skin had felt, and his fingers thirsted to drink in every curve of her once again.

“Well, this was lovely, Jar, but I have a couple of chapters left on the roaming habits of the jaguarundi,” Clo said as she ran her hands down her shirt, obviously trying to brush him away just as much as the non-existent dust. “So, I guess I’ll see you around?”

Jareth looked down, his eyelashes brushing the crests of his cheekbones as he did his best not to look to hurt. Did she have to go there, really? “You always were more interested in your books than me anyway.” his tone held an icy edge when he looked back up to make eye contact with her. He wasn’t intentionally being a dick, but hurting people hurt people. Translating pain into bad behavior was a defensive mechanism Jar picked up at a very young age, and his mouth had often landed him into trouble. “Let’s try not to see each other around, yeah? I’d like to try to enjoy the rest of my break.” And that was all he said before brushing past her. No ‘you try to enjoy it too’, nope, nothing even close to cordial. Jar put his earbuds back in and took a sip from his umbrella drink. His mood made the tropical punch taste sour in his mouth, so he chucked it in the nearest trash can before stalking off to the guys' suite.

After taking a shower that was so hot that it threatened to melt off some of his tattoos, Jar felt mildly better. Julius and Hunter had both woken up and left since his early departure, so he unabashedly walked around the suite in nothing but the plush white towel wrapped around his waist. In his room, he stared at his luggage, grappling with the idea of getting high. But what would that solve?

"And then I found out how hard it is to really change.
Even hell can get comfy once you've settled in.
I just wanted the lonely inside me to leave.
No matter how fucked you get, there's always hell when you come back down.
The funny thing is, all I ever wanted, I already had.
There's glimpses of heaven in every day.
In the friends I have, the music I make, the love that I feel.
I just had to start again."

No, he was trying to get better. Getting high wouldn’t erase his feelings, and it wouldn’t erase her. Clover was his past, not his future. What he needed to do was start again. With that in mind, he lit up a cigarette and poured himself a glass of dutch courage back in the kitchen. What? He settled to not get high right now, not that he was joining the priesthood, he had to keep some vices.

Jar scanned the events pamphlet housekeeping had left on the counter sometime this morning and found the perfect opportunity for a fresh start. There was a deck party tonight with drink specials AND karaoke. Jar never could resist the call of the stage, or a good party. He looked at the clock - only six hours until the party started. His stomach grumbled and he realized that the only thing in their right now was whiskey and whatever was left of last night’s dinner. At that, Jar headed to get dressed so he could head out.
